This study aims to analyze the effect of the General Allocation Fund (DAU) and Special Allocation Fund (DAK) variables on capital expenditures. In addition, this study uses the role of intervening variables to analyze the effect of these variables. The data source for this research uses secondary data sources originating from the Director General of Fiscal Balance of the Regional Government. Respondents in this study were local governments in Central Java with a total of 35 regencies and cities for the period 2016-2019. The results of the analysis show that the DAU variable has a positive and significant effect on capital expenditure while the DAK variable has no significant effect on the modal expenditure variable. In addition, the results of the analysis also show that the variable Economic Growth (PE) is not a variable that mediates the effect of DAU on capital expenditure, while further analysis shows that PE is a variable that mediates the effect of DAK on capital expenditure.

<p><em>This study aims to examine the influence of personal factors on organizational commitment. Personal factors in this study are interpreted with job choice factor, expectancy, and psychological contract variables. Research respondents were private madrasa teachers in the Central Java Indonesia. Data analysis using structural equation modeling partial least square shows that personal factors have a positive and significant effect on teacher organizational commitment. Job choice factor is the consideration of the applicant the first time someone decides to work as a teacher. Individuals have evaluated salary, the nature of the type of work as an educator, as well as long-term prospects such as the possibility to become permanent teachers of a madrasa / school and the opportunity to get certified. Teachers have expectations regarding financial and non-financial compensation and hope the head of the madrasa or foundation provides reciprocity or appreciation for their sacrifice to the organization. Teachers always expect a positive response from the </em><em> </em><em>head of the madrasa/foundation, as their workload increases. Purpose This study aims to examine the relationships between tourism destination competitiveness (TDC) determinants and tourism performance. This study specifically assessed the soundness of the TDC attributes and evaluated their ability in explaining tourism performance. Design/methodology/approach The Dwyer and Kim’s (2003) destination competitiveness integrated model (IM) was used. Secondary data of 115 nations available from the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) and other international reports were also used. The hypothesised relationships were tested via partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Findings This study confirms that the core resources, complementary condition, globalisation and tourism price significantly explain tourism performance. Results have shown differences in the competitiveness level and actual performance among nations, highlighting specific limitations of the current TDC model and TTCI report reliability. Research limitations/implications Future study could segment the sample base on destinations characteristic and then analyse it based on smaller sub-samples of similar destinations. Moreover, drivers of destination performance in developed and less develop destinations are quite diverse. Practical implications The incorrect competitiveness ranking evaluation will affect inward investment decisions. This study framework enables policymakers to arrive at more informed decisions than merely relying on the original competitiveness rankings. Originality/value The widespread acknowledgment of the importance of competitiveness for a tourism destination's success suggests that there is a crucial need for sound benchmarking of countries’ competitive capabilities. The proposed competitiveness determinants aid the policymakers in identifying the best competitiveness and tourism performance predictors, as well as how to identify crucial factors affecting the rankings.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between overcoming the value management (VM) implementation barriers and VM implementation in the Egyptian building sector. Design/methodology/approach A critical review of the literature on VM was used to through bibliometric analysis has been conducted to highlight the studies’ gap and establish the VM barriers. These obstacles were then contextually transformed via a semi-structured interview and a pilot study, and subsequently organized in the form of a theoretical model. The primary data was collected from 335 building stakeholders in Egypt through the administration of questionnaire surveys. Consequently, structural equation models of partial least squares were applied to statistically assess the final model of VM barriers. Findings The bibliometric analysis shows that there is an inadequate study on VM implementation barriers in the Egyptian construction industry and insufficient studies on implementing VM in developing countries. Results obtained from the proposed model showed that overcoming the VM barriers has a major connection with successful VM implementation. This is indicated with the value of ß = 0.743, which is necessary when the firm is overcoming 1 unit of VM barriers. Originality/value This study fills the knowledge gap by identifying and emphasizing the critical obstacles to VM implementation.

This study analyzes the determinants of regional economic growth and local government revenue (PAD) based on tourism, taxation, and budget policies in Kuningan District. This study uses the monthly data from 2015-2019 with 60 numbers of observations in total. Using the structural equation modeling partial least square (SEM-PLS), this study found that tourism, taxation, and budget policies directly affected regional economic growth. Neither does PAD affect regional economic growth nor mediate the indirect effect of tourism and taxation policies on economic growth. On the other hand, the budget policy can not moderate the influence of PAD on economic growth. This study also proves that the taxation policy reflected by the online-based tax collection system and the local tax increase budget positively affects PAD, while tourism can not affect it. This study implies that the local government of Kuningan need to focus on maximizing tourism sectors by directing the investment, budgets, and policies to develop its supporting industries.
