The article deals with some aspects of the study of the discipline “Probability theory and mathematical statistics” by the students of economic specialties through the solution of practical exercises. The main aim of learning the course is to form the skills to apply the knowledge gained to the tasks in economics. The concept of teaching probability theory and mathematical statistics is a process in which stochastic concepts and ideas serve as a mathematical apparatus for solving specific problems. Nowadays it is traditional to acquaint students with certain sections of applied mathematics, including probability theory and mathematical statistics, as purely abstract theories. However, as the best we consider another approach, according to which “a more adequate solution will be to acquaint the students with the methods of mathematical models construction”. In solving the problems of an applied nature, students get an idea of the necessity and universality of mathematics and its methods. The value of stochastic problems is determined predominantly not by the apparatus used in the process of their solution, but by the ability to demonstrate the process of usage of mathematics in solution of non-mathematical problems. It is shown how, with the help of applied tasks, to familiarize students with real examples of application of stochastic ideas and methods, as well as to make it possible to organize specific activities necessary in the process of application of mathematics. The student, researching a mathematical problem, formulates different questions and problems, then “transforms” them into the notions of mathematics, in order to solve them by mathematical methods, and then adapt the solution to the real problem, which was set at the beginning of the learning activity. This process is a process of constructing a mathematical (probabilistic) model of a real situation, which can be considered a mathematical activity in a broad sense. Among the traditional stochastic problems there are many typically mathematical (intramodel) tasks of such a kind, which were formulated by means of non-mathematical terms. It is necessary to note that the real problems of an applied nature are rare in mathematics because the stage of formalization (construction of a mathematical model of a non-mathematical situation) requires to have a deep knowledge and mathematical culture. This fact generated the problem of selection of tasks of applied nature that can be used in teaching. The paper presents a number of examples where students are shown how, with the help of some modification, a number of traditional problems of probability theory (formulated in the language of nonmathematical terms) can be developed into the tasks of applied nature. Expanding the range of such tasks during the study of mathematics would have a positive effect on students’ attitudes to this discipline and would increase their motivation to learn. Besides, the role of stochastic issues in mathematics and general education would become more multifaceted. For the university teachers of mathematics working with the students of economic specialties the most important thing is the formation of students’ mathematical skills to use the mathematical apparatus in their future professional activities.

The 4-H Citizenship Project offers the opportunity to help 4-H members relate all of their 4-H projects and experiences to the world around them. The 4-H Citizenship manuals will serve as a guide for 4-H Citizenship experiences. To be truly meaningful to the real-life needs and interests of your group, the contribution of volunteer leaders is essential. Each person, neighborhood, and community has individual needs that you can help your group identify. This 14-page major revision of Unit IV covers the heritage project. In Italy, at the end of the 1970s, methadone hydrochloride was introduced for the treatment of opioid use disorder, in the form of a racemic mixture consisting of levomethadone and dextromethadone. In 2015 Levometadone was introduced, a new formulation marketed in Italy for the treatment of opioid use disorder in 2015.The article aims to bring the experience of an Italian Addiction Centre back to the use of this new formulation in the "real life" analyzing the efficacy, the trend of adverse events and pharmacological iterations in a context in which the treated population often uses besides the opiates, cocaine and alcohol, are burdened by a relevant physical and psychic comorbidity and frequently have a prescribed polypharmacy.

Most curriculum components of archival graduate programmes consist of contextual knowledge, archival knowledge, complementary knowledge, practicum, and scholarly research. The practicum, now commonly known as experiential learning in the global hub, is now widely accepted in library and information studies (LIS) education as necessary and important. It is through experiential learning that, over and above the theoretical aspects of a profession, students are provided with the opportunity to learn by doing in a workplace environment. The University of Botswana’s Master’s in Archives and Records Management (MARM) programme has a six weeks experiential learning programme whose purpose is to expose prospective archivists and/or records managers to the real archival world in terms of practice as informed by archival theory. The main objective of the study was to determine the extent to which the University of Botswana’s experiential learning component exposes students to real-life archival work to put into practice theoretical aspects learnt in the classroom as intended by the university guidelines. This study adopted a qualitative research design and collected data through interviews from participants selected through purposive and snowball sampling strategies. Documentary review supplemented the interviews. The data collected were analysed thematically in line with research objectives. The study determined that experiential learning does indeed expose students to the real world of work. It thus helps to bridge the gap between archival theory and practice for students without archives and records management work experience. For those with prior archival experience, experiential learning does not add value. This study recommends that students with prior archives and records management experience should rather, as an alternative to experiential learning, undertake supervised research, and write a research essay in a chosen thematic area in archives and records management.

This article describes about the figure of children world in a short story “Anggrek Rara” written by Ina Inong, by connecting the social structure in the text and in the real life. After analyzing the social structure in the story, it is found that the plot of this story was the progressive plot, the background was from the social fact that came from inner house and outer house, otherwise the central character were Rara and Bunda. By analyzing social structure of text, it was found that a family (home) is the serious and formal environment while outer house is free and non formal. The result of the research showed that the children short story “ Anggrek Rara” was expected to give the figure outlines of the children world.

In the paper the possibility of using Dean’s equilibrium beach profile formula for a large man-made lake coastal conditions was studied. A stringent test of its adequate use was made based on mathematical statistics. The calculations were performed for the real bottom profile of the Novosibirsk reservoir beach.
