Safety of repeated use of deep-level openings in Norilsk mines

The article discusses safe repeated use of deep-level openings in Norilsk mine for vegetable production and herb cultivation in special facilities. Farming on the field in the north and east of Russia either is restricted by a short warm period suitable for vegetation, or is impossible due to climate, while the glasshouse industry bears losses because of the power cost and other expenses. At the actual depth of mining in the Talnakh ore cluster, the mine air temperature may reach 40 Celsius degrees and higher, which offers comfortable condition for the implementation of R&D projects in biotechnologies. One the other hand, the ore bodies in the cluster are rockburst-hazardous, which means high probability of dynamic events with deformation and destruction of underground excavations. It is necessary to undertake the elaborated studies into geodynamic safety to select and validate installation sites for biotechnology objects. It is suggested to select deep-level installation sites for the production of vegetable crops AVK-15 with regard to the geodynamic zoning of the Norilsk ore cluster. Deeplevel vegetation production will become safe as a result, and new eco-friendly and adaptable technologies will be developed for the year-round cultivation of fresh vegetables and green at the low material inputs and power consumption per unit product.

<p class="sar-body"><span lang="EN-US">There are little economic data concerning the profitability of organic vegetable crops in the Southern Coastal Plain, especially in reference to sod-based rotation and tillage alternatives.  A three-year experiment was conducted at the North Florida Research and Education Center-Quincy involving a crop rotation sequence of oats and rye (winter), bush beans (spring), soybean (summer) and broccoli (fall). Bush beans and broccoli were the cash crops. This paper presents analyses of the riskiness of organic production utilizing years in bahiagrass prior to initiating the crop rotation sequence and conventional tillage (CT) versus strip tillage (ST). Methods of “Risk-rated enterprise budget” and “Analyses of Variance-Covariance Matrix (ANOVA)” were utilized for determining relative profitability, and coefficient of variation was applied for measuring riskiness of each treatment. Three years of bahiagrass prior to initiating the crop rotation sequence, in combination with conventional tillage, had the highest profitability and ranked as the least risky scenario.  The second most profitable treatment was conventional tillage with four years of bahiagrass. Focusing on strip tillage, four years of bahiagrass with strip-tillage ranked third in term of profitability.</span></p>

Increased vegetable production for the fresh market often has been suggested as an agricultural alternative that will improve the income situation of small-scale farmers. Because vegetable production is an intensive activity and high incomes per acre are possible, it has political appeal as a quick solution to the low income levels generally associated with small farm operations. This study was developed from the small farm program of the University of Florida, which has concentrated on the northern and panhandle areas of Florida. Trials conducted by the Vegetable Crops Department of the University of Florida in 1974 and 1975 indicate that by variation of the planting season and control of insects and diseases, vegetables can be produced during periods of the year when the north Florida area has not historically competed in the fresh vegetable market.

Целями основания Евразийского экономического союза (ЕАЭС) было создание условий для стабильного развития экономик государств членов союза в интересах повышения жизненного уровня их населения, стремление к формированию единого рынка товаров, услуг, капитала и трудовых ресурсов, всесторонняя модернизация, кооперация и повышение конкурентоспособности национальных экономик государств членов союза в условиях глобальной экономики. Цель исследования проанализировать состояние овощеводства и обеспеченность овощами населения стран членов Евразийского экономического союза в составе Республик Армения, Беларусь, Казахстан, Кыргызской Республики и Российской Федерации. По итогам проведенного анализа установлено, что в период 20132017 годов посевные площади овощных культур в ЕАЭС выросли на 7,7 и превысили 1 млн га. В 2018 году валовой сбор овощей увеличился на 13 до 24,1 млн т. При этом более 62 овощей производится в хозяйствах населения и 22 в КФХ, что говорит о мелкотоварном характере производства и низкой товарности продукции в ЕАЭС. Лидер по производству овощей на душу населения Армения (324 кг/чел.), наименьшее значение в России 111 кг/чел., среднее по ЕАЭС 131 кг/чел. Урожай овощных культур увеличился во всех государствах членах союза, за исключением Армении, где этот показатель максимальный в рамках союза 286 кг/га. Объем импорта свежих овощей из третьих стран в период 20142017 годах снизился на 16,8 в натуральном выражении и на 33,4 до 1,8 млрд в денежном исчислении, что обусловлено введением продуктового эмбарго и снижением объема импорта в Россию практически в два раза. Взаимная торговля (по экспорту) свежими овощами увеличилась на 36,4 до 241 млн . Около 77 объема взаимной торговли приходится на поставки из Беларуси, при этом более 90 объема взаимной торговли овощами направлены на рынок России. Одной из мер по поддержке и развитию отрасли овощеводства могут стать: снижение доли посредников в потребительской цене на овощи, строительство тепличных комплексов для производства отечественных овощей в несезонный период и овощехранилищ и др.The objectives of founding the Eurasian economic Union (EAEU) was the creation of conditions for stable development of the economies of the member States of the Union to improve the living standards of their populations, the desire to create a common market of goods, services, capital and labor resources, comprehensive modernization, cooperation and competitiveness of national economies of member States of the Union in the global economy. The purpose of the study is to analyze the state of vegetable production and the availability of vegetables for the population of the member States of the Eurasian economic Union in the Republics of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that in the period 20132017, the acreage of vegetable crops in the EAEU increased by 7.7 and exceeded 1 million hectares. In 2018, the gross harvest of vegetables increased by 13 to 24.1 million tons. at the same time, more than 62 of vegetables are produced in households and 22 in farms, which indicates the small-scale nature of production and low marketability of products in the EAEU. The leader in the production of vegetables per capita is Armenia (324 kg/person), the lowest value in Russia is 111 kg/person, the average for the EEU is 131 kg/person. The yield of vegetable crops increased in all member States of the Union, with the exception of Armenia, where this figure is the maximum within the Union 286 kg/ha. The volume of imports of fresh vegetables from third countries in the period 20142017 decreased by 16.8 in physical terms and by 33.4 to 1.8 billion in monetary terms, due to the introduction of the food embargo and a decrease in the volume of imports to Russia almost twice. Mutual trade (by export) in fresh vegetables increased by 36.4 to 241 million. About 77 of the volume of mutual trade comes from Belarus, while more than 90 of the volume of mutual trade in vegetables is directed to the Russian market. One of the measures to support and develop the vegetable industry can be: reducing the share of intermediaries in the consumer price of vegetables, construction of greenhouse complexes for the production of domestic vegetables in the off-season period and vegetable stores, etc.

AbstractThe purpose of the study was to ascertain the competitive and complementary potential of fresh vegetable production relative to traditional row crop production using a regional partial equilibrium model. It seems clear from the analysis that vegetable crops are not destined in the near future to replace row crops in terms of land utilization. Nevertheless, vegetable crops appear to compete with and complement row crops well as evidenced by substantial increases in production as market share was assumed to increase. However, fresh vegetables cannot be considered as residual enterprises to which producers move when the demand for row crops declines. Even with a simulated 20 percent decrease in the demand for row crops, the acreage of fresh vegetables did not increase.

Степень технологической и технической зависимости отечественных производителей овощных культур от зарубежных производителей с.-х. техники, а также их техническая оснащенность специализированными машинами объясняется высокими затратами на производство овощей, особенно на уборку, что при общем дефиците ручного труда приводит к сокращению площадей, нарушению технологии выращивания и соответственно снижению урожайности. Цель исследований – определить современное состояние технологического и технического обеспечения производства овощных культур в Российской Федерации. Для достижения поставленной цели использовали методологию системного анализа и синтеза, математической статистики, численные методы решения аналитических зависимостей. Статистические исследования современного состояния технического обеспечения производства овощей в России могут служить основой для построения модели и разработки концептуальных принципов модернизации технологического и технического обеспечения работ в овощеводстве. Определена потребность товаропроизводителей в современных высокотехнологичных комплексах машин для производства овощных культур. Проведенные статистические исследования позволили оценить современное состояние с.-х. машиностроения по выпуску необходимого для товаропроизводителей количества машин. Повышение объемов производства овощной продукции неразрывно коррелирует с уровнем технического обеспечения отрасли овощеводства в целом, что подтверждает уровень локализации с.-х. машиностроения РФ, а также Беларуси и Казахстана, где с.-х. машиностроение представлено широкой номенклатурой предприятий, выпускающих комплексы машин от предпосадочной обработки почвы до послеуборочной обработки товарной продукции. Для возрождения с.-х. машиностроения и развития рынка средств механизации аграрного производства определены основные механизмы обновления парка сельхозтехники – преимущественно привлечением кредитных ресурсов коммерческих банков и лизинговых компаний. Кроме того, интенсивность ведения сельского хозяйства в современных условиях производства невозможна без высокого уровня насыщения машинно-технологических комплексов средствами интеллектуализации. Получать качественную конкурентоспособную продукцию можно только при использовании современных высокопроизводительных машин, обеспечивающих совмещение технологических операций, в конструкциях которых заложены системы автоматизированного управления технологическими процессами, учета почвенного плодородия, обеспечения экологической чистоты агроландшафтов. The degree of technological and technical dependence of domestic producers of vegetable crops on foreign producers of agricultural machinery, as well as their technical equipment with specialized machines, is explained by the high costs of vegetable production, especially for harvesting, which, with a general shortage of manual labor, leads to a reduction in area, disruption of cultivation technology and, accordingly, a decrease in yield. The purpose of the research is to determine the current state of technological and technical support for the production of vegetable crops in the Russian Federation. To achieve this purpose, we used the methodology of system analysis and synthesis, mathematical statistics, numerical methods for solving analytical dependencies. Statistical studies of the current state of technical support for vegetable production in Russia can serve as a basis for building a model and developing conceptual principles for modernizing technological and technical support for work in vegetable growing. The need of commodity producers for modern high-tech complexes of machines for the production of vegetable crops is determined. The conducted statistical studies made it possible to assess the current state of agricultural engineering for the production of the number of machines necessary for commodity producers. The increase in the production of vegetable products is inextricably correlated with the level of technical support for the vegetable growing industry as a whole, which confirms the level of localization of agricultural machinery in the Russian Federation, as well as in Belarus and Kazakhstan, where agricultural machinery is represented by a wide range of enterprises that produce complexes of machines from pre-planting tillage to post-harvest processing of commercial products. For the revival of agricultural machinery and the development of the market of agricultural production mechanization tools, the main mechanisms for updating the agricultural machinery fleet are determined-mainly by attracting credit resources from commercial banks and leasing companies. In addition, the intensity of agriculture in modern production conditions is impossible without a high level of saturation of machine-technological complexes with means of intellectualization. It is possible to obtain high-quality competitive products only with the use of modern high-performance machines that ensure the combination of technological operations, in the designs of which there are systems for automated control of technological processes, accounting for soil fertility, ensuring environmental cleanliness of agricultural landscapes. This chapter provides the mining history of the mountains of the rest of the world. It begins with England in which major silver discoveries took place in Bere Ferrers or Bere Ferris, a valley of the Tamar River in North Devon, southwest of Dartmoor, and at Combe Martin in the north after the mid-thirteenth century. However, English mines were challenging as they were physically distant from the central arteries of international trade of continental Europe and the commercial cities with continental catchment areas. This chapter also talks about silver mining that flourished in the Persian Province of Khorasan, the Samanid region of Transoxiana, and the Hindu Kush. These are the lands of the most spectacular mountain heights, where mountains piled up one behind another and mountain development assumes its grandest forms. It ends with mining history in India in which its mining exploits did not compete with the achievements of European mining regions. Mining in Zawar endured technical difficulties. Geologist Bagghi states that miners worked on hard siliceous quarzitic ore bodies, where drilling today calls for the use of tungsten carbide bits.

Research conducted since 1979 in the north central United States and southern Canada demonstrated that after repeated annual applications of the same thiocarbamate herbicide to the same field, control of some difficult-to-control weed species was reduced. Laboratory studies of herbicide degradation in soils from these fields indicated that these performance failures were due to more rapid or “enhanced” biodegradation of the thiocarbamate herbicides after repeated use with a shorter period during which effective herbicide levels remained in the soils. Weeds such as wild proso millet [Panicum miliaceumL. spp.ruderale(Kitagawa) Tzevelev. #3PANMI] and shattercane [Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench. # SORVU] which germinate over long time periods were most likely to escape these herbicides after repeated use. Adding dietholate (O,O-diethylO-phenyl phosphorothioate) to EPTC (S-ethyl dipropyl carbamothioate) reduced problems caused by enhanced EPTC biodegradation in soils treated previously with EPTC alone but not in soils previously treated with EPTC plus dietholate. While previous use of other thiocarbamate herbicides frequently enhanced biodegradation of EPTC or butylate [S-ethyl bis(2-methylpropyl)carbamothioate], previous use of other classes of herbicides or the insecticide carbofuran (2,3 -dihydro-2,2 -dimethyl-7-benzofuranyl methylcarbamate) did not. Enhanced biodegradation of herbicides other than the thiocarbamates was not observed.

Information on the geological and isotopic age of the Kubaka gold-silver deposit in the Omolon middle massif in the North-East of Russia is presented. It has been established that the Kubaka deposit geological age lies in between the Late Devonian age of the Kedon series volcanites, containing the gold-silver mineralization, and the Early Carboniferous age of the Korbinsky suite terrigenous rocks, overlapping the volcanites and the mineralization. The post-ore nature of the Omolon complex dykes, which produce no significant impact on the distribution of gold mineralization in ore bodies, is shown. According to isotope dating, the following stages of the Kubaka deposit formation are distinguished: the accumulation of the Kubaka suite tuffs (369 Ma); the introduction of subvolcanic intrusions (344 and 337 Ma); the formation of ore metasomatites (335±5 Ma); the formation of gold-silver mineralization (330 and 334 - 324 Ma); the introduction of post-ore dikes (179±8 - 176±10 Ma).

Abstract Vegetable production can offer a high-valued cash crop alternative. While returns may be high, vegetables are perceived to have more risk than conventional row crops. This study used stochastic dominance analysis to evaluate terminal market price risk for four vegetable crops across five market locations. Results from the analysis identify differences in efficient market selection depending on the form which price risk follows. While vegetables as a whole are considered risky, substantial differences in the type of terminal market price variability existed between the commodities.
