Summary: This is a literature review aboutsupernumerary teeth, its etiology, diagnosis, clinical complication and treatment. An earlydiagnosis is the key to an adequate treatment, and to reduce complications such tooth eruptionanomalies, dental malpositions, impacted teeth and cysts formation. It is important to perform earlya complete oral evaluation of the pediatric patient’s including the non-erupted teeth . Proper useof Periapical or Panorex Rx exams may help clinicians to determine early teeth numbers and/or teethposition anomalies. Key words: Supernumerary teeth. Impacted teeth. Eruption teethalterations.

Abstract Background Heterotopic ossification (HO) is noted most frequently in periarticular muscles and has not yet been reported in the cruciate ligaments of the knee. We present a rare case of symptomatic ossification of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). Case presentation A 59-year-old woman had a 2-year history of knee pain that was getting worse during knee motion and had restricted knee motion for 1 year. X-rays could not show the lesion clearly. Multi-planar computed tomography demonstrated ossification within the PCL with mild osteoarthritic changes and excluded any other intra-articular pathology. The patient underwent arthroscopic debridement and then experienced immediate relief of pain and complete recovery of range of motion. Conclusion This is the first report of HO in the PCL as a possible cause of knee pain and restricted knee motion. On the basis of literature review, this case elaborates the difference between HO and calcification in the ligaments, the related factors inducing HO and the undefined pathogenesis, and favorable prognosis after adequate treatment.

Results: We collected data from 450 periapical intraoral radiographs that were taken in last six months (i.e. 15th January 2021 till 15th July 2021) in dental radiology department. Conclusion: The dental anomalies that were found in the population of taxila were impacted teeth, missing teeth, rotated tooth, supernumerary teeth (mesiodens), root dilacerations, peg lateral, taurodontism and hypercementosis. Keywords: Root anomalies, dental anomalies, periapical radiograph

Supernumerary teeth are a relatively frequent disorder of odontogenesis characterized by an excess number of teeth. Mesiodens is the most common type of supernumerary teeth found in the premaxilla between the two central incisors. They can be supplemental (resembling natural teeth), conical, tuberculate, or molariform. We present a rare case of 41 year old male patient who presented with bilateral mesiodens. Key words: Mesiodens; supernumerary teeth; maxillary central incisor DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/bjms.v10i4.9503 BJMS 2011; 10 (4): 287-288

AbstractBackground:Pathological paranasal sinus expansion secondary to air is uncommon. However, this condition may be symptomatic or cosmetically apparent, requiring surgical intervention. Various terms have been used to describe this condition, and nomenclature is controversial.Method:An 18-year-old man presented with right facial pain, and was subsequently found to have pneumosinus dilatans of the maxillary sinus. A search was conducted of the PubMed, Medline and Embase databases, using the key words ‘pneumosinus dilatans’, ‘pneumoc(o)ele’, ‘pneumatoc(o)ele’ and ‘maxillary sinus’. Articles were also hand-searched. Relevant articles published in English were reviewed. Results:The literature review identified 36 cases involving the maxillary sinus (including the present case), with 19 cases reported as pneumosinus dilatans, 12 as pneumocoeles, two as pneumatocoeles, two as pneumosinus dilatans multiplex and one as an air cyst. However, based on the strict classification described by Urken et al., the majority of these cases should be reclassified as pneumocoeles. Conclusion:Whilst the nomenclature of this pathology is confusing, distinctions of terminology do not alter the management. Hence, we support the use of the term ‘air cyst’, to incorporate all these lesions.

In this report we describe a combined orthodontic and surgical treatment for a 14-year-old boy with severe skeletal class III deformity and dental problem. His upper posterior primary teeth in the left side were over-retained and 6 maxillary teeth (bilateral central incisors and canines, left first and second premolars) were impacted, together with 5 supernumerary teeth in both arches. The treatment protocol involved extraction of all the supernumerary and deciduous teeth, surgical exposure and orthodontic traction of the impacted teeth, a bimaxillary orthognathic approach including Lefort I osteotomy. Bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) and genioplasty was performed to correct skeletal problem. After treatment, all of the impacted teeth were brought to proper alignment in the maxillary arch. A satisfied profile and good posterior occlusion was achieved. Treatment mechanics and consideration during different stages are discussed.

Abstract There is debate about what should actually be done to generate a more worthy and equal tomorrow, mainly within universities. Indeed, what we are proposing in this paper is the analysis of the "Farewell to the dumps" project, which put into practice the theory gained in the gym, building that forms an environmental intervention in the River grandina community. Are research questions of this article: What are the results of the Project Goodbye to landfills? This intervention had permanent results? In the search for approximation of this scenario were chosen methodologies of literature review and document analysis. Therefore the objective to disseminate and promote new knowledge about the environmental history of the city of Rio Grande. Key-words: Environmental History; SolidWaste; Environment.

Multiple impacted permanent teeth is a rare finding and often associated with systemic diseases or some rare syndromes. This article reports two Iranian cases with multiple impacted teeth without systemic disease or syndromes. The first patient, a 17-year-old male, had 18 unerupted teeth and 9 unerupted supernumerary teeth. The second patient, a 16-year-old female, had 14 unerupted teeth. In these cases, an interdisciplinary approach between orthodontist, oral surgeon and prosthodontist is required to achieve optimum facial aesthetics and functional occlusion.
