This paper deals with the problem of mixed [Formula: see text] and passivity performance analysis of digital filters subject to Markovian jumping parameters, external disturbances, time delays and bounds of the nonlinearity functions. By employing Lyapunov theory and matrix decomposition technique, a novel sufficient condition is established. The proposed criterion ensures that the underlying system is stochastically stable and satisfies a mixed [Formula: see text] and passivity performance index simultaneously. The obtained criterion can also be employed to solve the [Formula: see text] problem or the passivity problem in a unified framework. Moreover, the problem is formulated to obtain optimal mixed [Formula: see text] and passivity performance index of the interfered digital filters. The effectiveness and superiority of our proposed results are illustrated by three examples.

This paper studies a new automated container terminal (ACT) system which utilizes multistory frame bridges and rail-mounted trolleys to transport containers between the quay and the yard. Beside typical ACT systems use trucks or automated guided vehicles for transporting containers between quay cranes and yard cranes, the new design uses three types of handling machines, namely, ground trolleys (GTs), transfer platforms (TPs), and frame trolleys (FTs). These three types of handling machines collaborate with one another to transport containers. This study decomposes the system into several subsystems. Each subsystem has one TP and several FTs and GTs dedicated to this TP. Then, a Markov chain model is developed to analyze the throughput of TPs. At last, the performance of the new ACT system is estimated. Sensitivity analyzes the numbers, and the processing rates of trolleys are conducted through the numeric experiments.

The fastest JavaScript production implementations use just-in-time (JIT) compilation and the vast majority of academic publications about implementations of dynamic languages published during the last two decades focus on JIT compilation. This does not imply that static compilers (AoT) cannot be competitive; as comparatively little effort has been spent creating fast AoT JavaScript compilers, a scientific comparison is lacking. This paper presents the design and implementation of an AoT JavaScript compiler, focusing on a performance analysis. The paper reports on two experiments, one based on standard JavaScript benchmark suites and one based on new benchmarks chosen for their diversity of styles, authors, sizes, provenance, and coverage of the language. The first experiment shows an advantage to JIT compilers, which is expected after the decades of effort that these compilers have paid to these very tests. The second shows more balanced results, as the AoT compiler generates programs that reach competitive speeds and that consume significantly less memory. The paper presents and evaluates techniques that we have either invented or adapted from other systems, to improve AoT JavaScript compilation.

Serious problems experienced by tobacco farmers are narrowing land area, decreasing land fertility, degradation of agricultural land, pest attacks, inappropriate fertilization to tobacco plants, weather and crop failure. Those problems posed the tobacco farmers at risk of psychological distress. This study aimed to analyze psychological distress in tobacco farmers in Kalisat, Jember. The design of this study was descriptive analysis with cluster sampling and proportional sampling techniques. The population of this study was tobacco farmers, as many as 91 (CI = 90%). The research instruments were the 42 Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale questionnaires (DASS 42) (Cronbach's Alpha 0.776; 0.931; 0.803). The results showed that tobacco farmers had the highest anxiety (73.6%), stress (26.4%), and depression (11%). Psychological distress in farmers is manifested in the form of worries and fears of work which is generally due to instability from the work of farmers.

Abstract The thermal performance analysis of a radiator with a dissimilar shape nanoparticles, i.e., cylindrical (CNT)–platelet (graphene), spherical (Al2O3)–platelet (graphene), and spherical (Al2O3)–cylindrical (CNT) composition-based hybrid nanofluid for a coolant flowrate of 6 l/min, air velocity of 10.6 m/s, and 1.3% vol. faction of nanofluid has been studied and compared. Results revealed that a hybrid nanofluid as a coolant enhances the exergy–energy performance of the radiator. In this study, the cylindrical (CNT)–platelet (graphene) hybrid nanofluid results a decrement in the performance while the spherical (Al2O3)–platelet (graphene) hybrid nanofluid yields a better performance with coolant flowrate and air velocity. Particle shape has influenced a significant effect on the second law efficiency, exergy change, and irreversibility, which increases with an increase in air velocity, and volume fraction of hybrid nanofluid. However, the spherical (Al2O3)–platelet (graphene) hybrid nanofluid has 3.5%, 3.6%, and 1.12% higher performance index, exergy change in coolant, and second law efficiency, respectively, compared to the cylindrical (CNT)-platelet(graphene)-based hybrid nanofluid. Furthermore, results divulge that the nanoparticle shape has a notable impact on the performance of an automobile radiator. The spherical (Al2O3)–platelet (graphene) hybrid nanofluid exhibits supercilious over other shapes considered, and hence, it is more effective to use as a radiator coolant for enhancing the thermal performance.
