The article analyses the activation of the object “science” on the coast of southern Chile to create a destination for scientific tourism. A territorial resource is “revealed” through the selection and enhancement of scientific objects. A research centre acts as an articulator of the tourism development project and trans‑ forms “generic” resources to “specific” ones. New heritage milestones are created around cultural geographi‑ cal areas and relevant themes for scientists and local actors. New social links and collective dynamics allow the creation and insertion of an emerging tourist destination in the national and international scenario. Giving value to resources for the creation of a sustainable destination is carried out in 5 theoretical stages; selection, justification, conservation, exposure and valorisation. In practice, it requires the formation of a network of actors to clarify the nature of the destination and the marketing of four possible scientific tourism products: scientific and sports explorations, eco‑volunteering or cultural trips with scientific content. In this manner the Patagonian Archipelagos offers products based on scientific resources enhanced by local actors to create a sustainable destination.

The development Program project of road transport and tourism infrastructure «The roads of Power´s Soul» is presented in the article. The program was developed by the Coordinating Council for the development of tourism in the Central Federal District (CFD) of the Association of interregional social and economic interaction «Central Federal District» and the Russian State University of Tourism and Service. The urgency of the creation of generalizing, integral tourism and tourist services development programs for all regions of the CFD is justified in the article. It was noted that tourism is the rapidly growing sector of the economy CFD. But comprehensive solution of issues related to creation of the new tourism products cannot be provided by the only development of the infrastructure. This hinders the development of effective promotion tools, introduction of innovative technologies, staff training in the tourism and service of district. The creation of a unified tourism space is the one of the main directions of the tourism sector development in the Central Federal District. Such approach can only be implemented within a unified inter-regional program of tourism development in district and creating a tourist cluster with the active participation of each subject of the CFD. The program development project of road transport and tourism infrastructure in 2015 - 2025 is proposed in the article. The goals, objectives, stages, outcomes of the program are defined. The scheme of the complex federal automobile segmented tourist ring route through the territory of all the regions - subjects of the CFD is proposed. The main results of a comprehensive analysis of tourist routs, facilities and activities recommended for inclusion in the program are rep- resented. The criteria for selection of destinations and also companies and organizations of tourism infrastructure for inclusion in the Program are substantiated. It is concluded that practical implementation of developed Program is very important; it might be very effective for the tourism development in the Central Federal District and Russia as a whole.

The Opatija Riviera is a tourist destination with a longstanding tourist tradition, and in its tourism development up to date it has not yet achieved such results as could be expected based on its available resources and other comparative advantages. Tourism in the Opatija Riviera is lagging behind modem tourist trends. Hence, the primary objectives of this destination in its future tourism development should be the shaping of an identifiable, top-quality tourist product, the creation of its own identity, and the deliberation of tourism from the viewpoint of the destination, as the basis of tourism prosperity. With the aid of marketing mix activities, it is crucial to reposition the Opatija Riviera as an attractive and competitive tourist destination with a recognisable image, capable of attracting potential tourists. The critical impact of the tourism sector on the development of local communities and economies has now been recognized, both theoretically and in practice, by local governments (OTAs) and other national or supranational policy makers. The OTAs, with their institutional role extending to the areas of shaping and promoting tourist destinations, are creating, in this direction, a network of synergies and actions with other stakeholders in the tourism sector. Therefore, the issue of collaborative marketing is major. At the same time, in addition to the strategy and management of the promotion and promotion of a tourist destination, there is a second level of vision of the action of OTA, that of the marketing facilitation strategy, which pursues the holistic coordinating the tourism sector of an area, ensuring the creation of synergies and the development of tourism development in the desired direction. This article analyzes STEM projects conducted in eight schools with children from 4 to 10 years old in southern Chile. The main purpose of the study was to describe and analyze how these projects can affect students’ and educators’ attitudes and create community capacities to tackle local socioecological challenges. We used an ethnographic design with an intentioned coding process of interviews and participant observations to summarize one year of collaborative and transdisciplinary project building. The results describe the main attitudinal changes of teachers and students and give evidence on how these projects create new links and foster collaborations with local actors and organizations that are usually sidelined from educational experiences. Examples of meaningful learning experiences to tackle sustainability challenges were systematized and shared, to inspire new initiatives, raise new voices, and promote active participation of the new generations to foster socioecological resilience.

This paper investigates whether it is possible to impact on the competitiveness of a destination through new dimensions of cultural tourism and by improving the existing forms of cultural tourism. The paper deals with the possibility of upgrading the development of cultural tourism through historical trails. The historical trails from Moscenicka Draga and Moscenice to Trebisce and Perun could supplement the creation of an image for this destination, which in itself has a strong seasonal character, as well as a strong orientation of tourists towards sea- and-sun motivated holidaymaking. According to the latest research, Trebisce was a place where the old Slavs used to make their offerings to Perun, the Slavic god of thunder. In other words, this is a sacred site of early Croatian mythology. The historical trails can help to differentiate, improve and enrich the tourism offering of Moscenicka Draga as a tourist destination. The initiator and coordinator of this project is the Chair of the Chakavian Council (an organization dedicated to the preservation of the local culture and the chakavian dialect) of the Municipality of Moscenicka Draga.
