ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the role of innovation intensity in moderating the influence of board gender on company performance. This study uses quantitative data with data sources in secondary data, which will be processed using SPSS 22 software. This study's population are non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2018 with 690 observations. This study found that board diversity has a positive effect on company performance. The higher the level of board diversity in this case the gender in a board, the higher the level of firm performance. The gender of the board of directors can help in making decisions because there are different perspectives on the discussion. Different perspectives will create a sense of caution which can help prevent risks. Besides, this study also found that the intensity of innovation could strengthen or moderate the effect of board diversity on firm performance. The company's intensity of innovation is higher when there are women on its board of directors. This is because various perspectives are important to be able to provide creative solutions, such as innovation. The intensity of innovation can increase when there is gender diversity on the board of directors to make firm performance increase.

This study aimed to analyze the influence of ethnicity, gender and board of director’s experience diversity on the company performance. The data used are secondary data from the financial statements and annual report from 2011 to 2017. Samples were taken  randomly on all companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange as many as 266 companies. The results of this study prove that ethnicity and experience of the board of directors not significantly effect on company performance (ROS). However, the results of gender on board of directors showed negative and significant impact on company performance (ROS). Company age and audit quality have insignificant effect on company performance (ROS).

This study aims at filling existing research by examining the effect of board composition specially board diversity on firm performance using cross-sectional data from London Stock Exchange (FTSE 350) of non-financial companies with a total observations 3961 companies for the years 2000–2016. To the best of our knowledge, the contribution of this paper is to examine the effect of board diversity (age, gender, education, and nationality) of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 on firm performance. Our results indicate that age diversity has a negative effect on firm performance, which means that young board members enhance and increase firm performance. Furthermore, education diversity has a negative effect on firm performance. On the other hand, gender diversity has positive effect on firm performance, so if companies increase the number of females in the board of directors, firm performance will increase. Ultimately, our result reveals that nationality diversity has a positive effect on firm performance.

Firm performance includes the activities produced by company management and high firm performance can be said to allow them to plan their work according to their own goals and take risks with full responsibility. This study was conducted to determine the effect of earnings management, the size of the board of directors, and ownership structure (blockholders ownership, institutional ownership, family ownership, and managerial ownership) on the firm's performance. By using sample data listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2016 to 2019. Because there are several previous studies that produce different values ?? on firm performance. Therefore, it is necessary to re-examine this. In this study using the firm's performance with Tobin's Q model to determine the value of asset management generated by the company. The data used is panel data with secondary data collection techniques to test outliers by SPSS software version 25, then test descriptive statistics, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, R Square, F test, and also t-test using Eviews software version 10. The results of this study conclude that both accrual-based and real earnings management have a significant positive effect on firm performance, while the size of the board of directors has a significant negative effect on performance. The ownership structure has no significant effect on the firm's performance. The result of insignificant results could be caused by not supporting the agency theory perspective, as well as the lack of company control.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of gender diversity, board of directors, board of commissioner, independent commissioner, and intellectual capital on firm performance. The population in this study is all consumer goods industry sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock exchange for the period 2014-2018. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling, as many as 40 companies were selected as samples with a total 200 observation. The analysis method used in this research is regression analysis with fixed effect model approach and hypothesis testing. The result showed that the board of directors, the proportion of independent commissioner, and intellectual capital have positve and significant effect on firm performance. Menwhile, gender diversity and the board of commissioner have no effect on firm performance. The advice provide is for investors and companies to pay attention and conside the variables that effect on firm performance such as the board of directors, the proportion of independent commissioners and intellectual capital as a consideration to assess the firm performance. As forfurther research, the gender diversity variable can be measured using other proxies such as the blau index or so on. Firthermore, researcher are also expected to add other independent variables that affect on firm performance such as political connection, firm size, and manajerial ownership

In implementing corporate governance, the diversity of the board of directors is an essential component. The most frequently observed diversity of the board is gender diversity, and along with the increasing internationalization of business today, the nationalities diversity is also one of the interesting types of analysis to be analyzed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the diversity of the board of directors on the performance of the company. The company performance examined in this study is the firm financial performance measured by using ROE and firm value measured by the Tobin's Q ratio. The population of this study are all non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2017. Following the same selection criteria in this study, 33 sample companies were screened. The results of hypothesis testing with multiple regression indicate that only nationalities diversity influences the firm financial performance as measured by ROE. While gender diversity has a negative effect on firm financial performance as measured by ROE. And gender diversity and nationalities diversity does not affect the firm value

This study aims to determine how the influence of Board Diversity on company performance in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample in this study was taken at manufacturing companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, as many as 125 companies with a research period of 4 years from 2015-2018.The results showed that the gender variable of the board of directors had a significant negative effect on company performance, the age of the board of directors did not have a significant effect on company performance, while the ethnic variable of the board of directors had a significant positive effect on company performance and the education of the board of directors did not have a significant negative effect on company performance. Firm size control variable has a significant negative effect on company performance.

This study aims to determine the effect of board of commissioners and board of directors diversity on company performance in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Excharge for the  2014-2018 period.  By using purposive sampling method, obtained 45 samples of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was found that the age diversity of the board of commissioners had no significant effect on company performance; the diversity of board of  commissioners educational  background had no significant effect on company performance, the diversity of board of commissioners tenure had a significant effect on company performance. While the diversity of board of directors age had a significant effect on company performance, diversity the of educational backgrounds of the board of directors does not have a significant effect on company performance, and the diversity of tenure of the board of directors does not have a significant effect on company performance.  Keywords : Company Performance, Age, Education, Tenure, Board Of Commissioners Board Of Directors.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Board of Directors, Non Independent Commissioners, and Managerial Ownership to Manufacturing Company Performance on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research was conducted at food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2014-2018. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between more than two variables. Based on the results of the study stated the Board of Directors statistically has no significant effect to company performance (ROA). Non independent commissioners statistically has no effect to company performance (ROA), Managerial ownership has no statistically significant effect to company performance (ROA). Purpose By looking at both theoretical and empirical findings, this study aims to investigate whether gender diversity results in improved corporate governance and financial performance for companies. Design/methodology/approach An analysis of the board composition of the Johannesburg Securities Exchange Top 40 companies as at 30 June 2013 and a comparison of the financial performance of the company were conducted. Findings Female directors were found to make up, on average, 18.78 per cent of the board of directors, with the majority of these women being in non-executive positions. Women representation appears to influence company performance positively when using accounting-based measures of performance (such as return on assets and return on equity), but negatively when using market-based measures (such as Tobin’s Q). The critical mass concept is also assessed and is found to have a positive effect. Originality/value These findings are of relevance to the boards of directors adhering to corporate governance requirements by challenging the role of women on the board of directors, as well as that of investors and those in practice, to understand the current status of women representation.

This study aims to examine the effect of family ownership, board size, and the proportion of independent directors on the level of voluntary disclosure. This research is classified as causative research. The population in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2015-2017. By using the purposive sampling method, there are 57 companies as research samples. Family ownership is measured by the percentage of share ownership, the size of the board of directors is measured by the number of board of directors of the company, the proportion of independent directors is measured by the percentage of independent directors on board structure and voluntary disclosure is measured by the disclosure index. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from www.idx.co.id. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression. The results of this study show Family ownership has a negative and significant effect on the level of voluntary disclosure. The size of the board of directors has a positive and significant effect on the level of voluntary disclosure, and the proportion of independent directors has a positive and not significant effect on the level of voluntary disclosure.
