The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of using tools in pre - clinical and clinical training of dental students. In this study, the goal was to evaluate the effects of using high-speed and low-speed handpieces by dental students during their preclinical practical training on phantoms and compare them with polyclinic work on real patients. In the course of the study, students were asked to perform first-class black cavities dissection using low-speed and high-speed turbine tips. Thus, the type of tip speed did not affect the theoretical capabilities of students of the faculty of dentistry when testing and preparing carious cavities of class I. However, there were differences in the practical training of dental students and the inability to create the correct tooth cavity, due to the difference in the speed of movement of the boron head of a high-speed turbine tip. The data obtained in the course of the study indicate the need to implement an educational program using real high-speed turbine tips in order to improve the practical training of students of the faculty of dentistry. The use of high-speed tips can strengthen the self-confidence of dental students and ensure the acquisition of cognitive thinking and psychomotor skills from working with phantoms to clinical practice.

Background. Knowledge and psychomotor skills are essential in dental education. The aims were to (1) investigate the correlation between dental students’ didactic and psychomotor skills performance in the dental anatomy and preclinical operative dentistry courses and (2) explore the impact of gender on students’ performance in both courses. Materials and Methods. A retrospective cohort study was performed on dental students’ (164 students; 72 males and 92 females) dental anatomy and preclinical operative courses scores of the same class over 2 years (2018–2020). Didactic and practical scores were collected. The didactic scores included examinations. Practical scores included tooth wax carving for the dental anatomy course and class II cavity preparations and restorations for the preclinical operative. Student’s t-test and ANOVA were used to analyze the difference between the didactic and psychomotor skills scores of both courses and genders. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to explore correlations ( p < 0.05 ). Results. Moderate, positive, and significant correlations were found between didactic scores in both courses and between dental anatomy’s didactic and psychomotor skills. A weak, positive, and significant correlation existed between the preclinical operative didactic and psychomotor silks ( p < 0.05 ). Females’ didactic performance was significantly better than males. Gender had a significant, positive, and moderate correlation in the dental anatomy course, but moderate-weak in preclinical operative ( p < 0.05 ). Conclusion. Students’ didactic and psychomotor performance correlations in dental anatomy and preclinical operative courses were positive. The correlation was moderate and weak and varied by course. Gender had a significant impact on student performance and varied by procedure and courses investigated.

Railway noise is calculated to predict the impact of new or reconstructed railway tracks on nearby residential areas. The results are used to prepare adequate counter- measures, and the calculation results are directly related to the cost of the action plans. The calculated values were used to produce noise maps for each area of inter- est. The Schall 03 2012 is one of the most frequently used methods for the production of noise maps. The latest version was released in 2012 and uses various input para- meters associated with the latest rail vehicles and track systems in Germany. This version has not been sufficiently used in South Korea, and there is a lack of standard guidelines and a precise manual for Korean railway systems. Thus, it is not clear what input parameters will match specific local cases. This study investigates the modeling procedure for Korean railway systems and the differences between calcu- lated railway sound levels and measured values obtained using the Schall 03 2012 model. Depending on the location of sound receivers, the difference between the cal- culated and measured values was within approximately 4 dB for various train types. In the case of high-speed trains, the value was approximately 7 dB. A noise-reducing measure was also modeled. The noise reduction effect of a low-height noise barrier system was predicted and evaluated for operating railway sites within the frame- work of a national research project in Korea. The comparison of calculated and measured values showed differences within 2.5 dB.

Introduction. Necessity of increase of sports teams results requires from the coach to concen-trate not only on physical training of athletes, but taking into account the impact of psychological factor in training and competitive process. Despite the fact the athlete's ability to maximize their physical abilities and achieve high results in team performance are defined the level of psychological training, there is still not received a full justification both in the methodical plan, and in the theory of sports. The least studied are mental states that arise under the influence of competitive activities and lead to reduced results. There is not developed the system of psychological training of sports teams, including cheer-leading, that’s why we decided to study this problem. The purpose of the article is to develop and experimen-tally substantiate the method of increasing the psycholog-ical training of cheerleading sports team, taking into ac-count the personal characteristics and features of mental states its members. The methods of analyses, synthesis, induction, deduc-tion, comparison, abstraction, experiment are used in the article. Results. Our study was devoted to research psycho-logical states of gymnasts in preparation for competitions and the development of their emotional stability, balance, ability to behave adequately in tense and complicated situations that often occur in sports. 40 female gymnasts of the student team 17-22 years old were involved in the empirical study. According to the method of S. Rosenzweig a study of frustration reactions showed that there is a self-protective type and extra punitive direction of the reaction occurs most often among the athletes. R. Cattell's 16PF questionnaire showed a high level of emotional instability and frustration among female ath-letes. By the results of R. Cattell and G. Eisenko testing methods, only 36% of students are characterized by the ability to correctly place emphasis in a frustrating situa-tion. The practical implementation of the idea of psychologi-cal support of gymnasts in the formation of personality was represented in the form of a practical training-seminar. There were 16 classes, 3 hours a class. The seminar included elements of socio-psychological training, counseling sessions, thematic classes and other forms of work, which were implemented on the basis of an inte-grated approach. The program of the seminar included the following blocks: the ideal image of a successful athlete, the formation of emotional - volitional regulation of gym-nasts, self-knowledge of athletes and skills of value choice. Retesting after working with athletes showed that the attitude of gymnasts to difficult and stressful situations of sports has changed. The number of decisive behavioral strategies in difficult situations has increased, the number of self-defense has decreased. There is a positive trend in the number of positive emotions and experiences. The analysis of self-reports of the experimental group showed that more than 85% of respondents noted an increase in self-confidence, desire for self-development, reduced internal tensions. Originality. The understanding of the psychological training role and importance in the whole system of com-petitive training raises the coaches’ professional compe-tence and improve sports results of both individual ath-letes and sports team. Conclusion. The hypothesis was fully verified and we can approve that the emotional balance of female gym-nasts directly affects the effectiveness of sports activities and represents the systemic quality of their individuality. It is characterized by possibility of diverse changes under the influence of training and correctional programs. As a result of psycho-correctional work athletes increased the level of emotional stability, self-confidence, psychological competence, increased positive emotions, decreased ten-sion, stress. Athletes-gymnasts have acquired the skills of comprehensive analysis of complex and stressful situa-tions that may arise both in the training process and during competitions, increased the number of dominant behavioral strategies aimed at finding a constructive solution to such situations

Video lotteries seem to be one of the most profitable games for the gambling industry and are reported as the game of choice for many problem gamblers. Their popularity or, in some cases, their addictiveness, might be related to their structural characteristics: reinforcement schedule, lights, appearance, sound, and speed. We investigated the effects of video lottery game speed on concentration, motivation to play, loss of control, and number of games played. Forty-three participants were randomly assigned to either a high-speed (5 seconds) or a low-speed (15 seconds) condition. Results: gamblers in the high-speed condition played more games and underestimated the number of games played more than did participants in the low-speed condition. However, speed did not influence concentration, motivation, or loss of control over time or money. Conclusion: speed has a limited impact on occasional video lottery gamblers. The theoretical and practical implications of speed are discussed in the context of responsible gambling policies.

A stability measure rooted in the unsteady characteristics of the flow field over the compressor rotor has been previously developed. The present work explores the relationship between the stochastic properties of this measure, called the correlation measure, and the compressor stability boundary. A stochastic model has been developed to gauge the impact of the correlation measure’s stochastic nature on its applicability to compressor stability management. The genesis of this model is in the fundamental properties of a specific stochastic process, one that is created by the threshold crossings of a random process. The model validation utilizes data obtained on three different axial compressor facilities. These include a single-stage low-speed axial compressor, a four-stage low-speed research compressor, and an advanced technology demonstrator high-speed compressor. This paper presents details of the model development and validation, as well as closed loop experimental results to demonstrate correlation measure’s usefulness in compressor stability management.

Nanocomposites attracted the attention of scientists due to their superior mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrical properties. This research studied the impact of adding carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to the woven Kevlar laminated composites on the high and low speed impact characteristics. Different percentages of CNTs were added to the woven Kevlar-Vinylester composite materials. An in-house developed drop weight testing apparatus was utilized for the low speed impact testing. Two different concentrations of the CNTs were added to a 15-layer woven Kevlar laminates, 0.32 wt% and 0.8 wt%. The results showed that: The 0.32 wt % CNT sample enhanced the interlaminar strength of the composite without enhancing the energy absorption capacity whereas, the 0.8 wt % CNT sample did not improve the impact resistance of the Kevlar composite.For the high speed impact tests, a bulletproof vest was prepared using woven Kevlar, resin, and CNTs at 1.5 w% percentage. The ballistic shooting was carried out by a professional shooter using a 30 caliber and 9 mm bullets for the tests. The CNT bulletproof sample bounced back the 30 caliber copper alloy bullet with no penetration.

The purpose of this article is to study and develop a methodological approach tosolving the problem of accuracy of the geodetic base of the route. For this purpose, the followingtasks are set: mathematical substantiation the dependence of the line length on the ratio of the traceslope and the guide slope; description of the function of optimal use of the guiding slope at highspeed; determination of the impact of errors in the course of the geodetic justification on the routelength. Starting from the determined point and further to the right, artificial development of the lineis required. Because when a trace is planed using level curves, this point can be reached sooner orlater, and in some cases, this point can not be reached not at all, the line length designed accordingto the plan will be slightly different than in the case of tracing with usage the exact data. Thus, theobtained results indicate the following. If the error positions during a high-speed segment are suchthat the ordnance datum of the passage is less than the truth, the route length will be less than thetrue and vice versa. This trivial result indicates that the location of geodetic support points ondifferent sides of the pass is not recommended. It is established that due to the accumulation of errorsin the transmission of coordinates in the working substantiation networks, the conditions of the linedesign and the amount of operating costs change. It is mathematically substantiated that the linelength depends on the depth of the excavation on the pass and the height of the embankment at thepoint, and also on the difference of ordnance datum at these points. The difference between the traceslope and the guiding slope has an inversely proportional effect. In addition, the function of optimaluse of the guide slope at a high-speed segment has the form of a broken line according to its fracturesthe need for artificial development of the route can be established. The influence of errors in the course of the working justification is manifested in the discrepancy between the true and projectedroute length. If this error is not taken into account, it will lead to significant overspending duringbuilding a longer line than necessary. Further development of the problem of increasing the accuracyof tracing and reducing the impact of errors is planned in the direction of creating methods of digitalmodelling and automated programs.

AbstractAccording to the panel data of stations along the Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway (BSHR) from 2008 to 2018, the influence of BSHR on regional economy of cities along the line is analyzed, and the influence of the opening of the BSHR on regional economic equity of cities along the line, through constructing the difference-in-differences model. The research result shows that the opening of the BSHR greatly promotes the growth of the GDP per capita of the site cities along the line and the optimal allocation of resources, such as labor, information and technology, and accelerates the two-way flow of factors of production between big cities and small and medium-sized cities at stations along the high-speed railway, makes high-quality resources from small and medium-sized cities flow to big cities along the line, while some backward resources from big cities gradually tilt toward small- and medium-sized cities along the line. In short, the opening of BSHR promotes the economic growth of the cities along the line, shortens the economic gap between the cities, is conducive to realizing regional economic equity.

Considering the effect of centrifugal force generated by the rotation to the crankshaft frequency and vibration mode, the frequency and vibration mode of multi-speed cases are calculated. The results showed that the impact of the centrifugal force on the crankshaft vibration increases with the increase of rotational speed, especially in the high speed region, this phenomenon is more obvious. From low speed to high speed, the vibration frequency has a large deviation, which shows that in this case, it is necessary to consider the frequency change caused by pre-stress.

Abstract Background The quarantine associated with the COVID-19 pandemic forced dental schools to suspend their clinical training and to shift to distant learning methods. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of quarantine on the self-perceived preparedness of dental graduates and to explore the efficacy of online education from students’ perspectives. Methods The questionnaire distributed to dental students comprised of two main sections. The first part covered the online education experience, and the second part measured the level of self-perceived preparedness for a range of cognitive, communication and professional skills. Results The survey yielded a response rate of 72%. The majority of students (77%) agreed that they missed educational experiences as a result of the lockdown. More than half of them felt less motivated to follow-up with distant e-learning and believed that online assessment is not a good method for evaluation. A high percentage of the students (66%) thought that online group discussions had a positive value while 67% preferred online lectures compared to theatre lectures. Majority of students particularly 5th year (78.7%) (p < 0.001) stated that the quarantine increased their collaboration with their colleagues. According to 87% of students, the experience most negatively affected was their clinical training. In general, students showed satisfactory self-perceived preparedness related to a range of attributes and professional skills. Conclusions The data showed that students partially appreciated the online system, whereas they did not consider it a substitute for face to face clinical practice. The overall self-perceived preparedness level was promising; however students had reservations regarding independent practice following graduation.
