The article is devoted to the Romanian vers libre genesis and its identification among disordered verse forms in the Romanian poetry of the beginning of the 20th century. Our investigations are based on the innovative methods of verse analysis suggested by the Russian poetic science which are based on the quantitative analysis. By means of statistical analysis of the disordered oeuvres – verses without rhyme, meter and formal stanza – we found out that not all oeuvres with such features may be referred to as vers libre. Among such forms there are the oeuvres which do have some systematic characteristics coinciding with classical, tonic or heteromorphic forms.

We propose that leaders play a more important role in voters’ party sympathy in proportional representation systems (PR) than previous research has suggested. Voters, from the 2018 Swedish General Election, were in an experiment asked to describe leaders and parties with three indicative keywords. Statistical models were conducted on these text data to predict their vote choice. The results show that despite that the voters vote for a party, the descriptions of leaders predicted vote choice to a similar extent as descriptions of parties. However, the order of the questions mattered, so that the first questions were more predictive than the second question. These analyses indicate that voters tend to conflate characteristics of leaders with their parties during election campaigns, and that leaders are a more important aspect of voting under PR than previous literature has suggested. Overall, this suggests that statistical analysis of words sheds new light of underlying sympathies related to voting.

Since 2009, more than 840 Second Chance Act grant awards have been made to government and nonprofit agencies, and taxpayers have paid nearly 700 million dollars in Second Chance grants. Additionally, $154 million has been spent on probation and parole supervision agencies and staff through the Justice Reinvestment Initiative. Yet, our probation and parole population continue growing! Given the amount of money taxpayers have invested in programs, it seems nothing works. In the 20th century, it was assumed that the use of randomized and control-group research designs and complex statistical analysis and state-of-the-art computer software would be sufficient to find what “works.” But, we have not yet found what “works.” This chapter asks two questions: 1) Is it the case that “nothing works”? or 2) Is it the case that our research methods can't measure what “works”?

AbstractCryptocurrencies as a new way of transferring assets and securing financial transactions have gained popularity in recent years. Transactions in cryptocurrencies are publicly available, hence, statistical studies on different aspects of these currencies are possible. However, previous statistical analysis on cryptocurrencies transactions have been very limited and mostly devoted to Bitcoin, with no comprehensive comparison between these currencies. In this study, we intend to compare the transaction graph of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, and Z-Cash, with respect to the dynamics of their transaction graphs over time, and discuss their properties. In particular, we observed that the growth rate of the nodes and edges of the transaction graphs, and the density of these graphs, are closely related to the price of these currencies. We also found that the transaction graph of these currencies is non-assortative, i.e. addresses do not tend for transact with a particular type of addresses of higher or lower degree, and the degree sequence of their transaction graph follows the power law distribution.

Abstract Eleven laboratories participated in an interlaboratory study of an enzyme-linked immunoassay for limonin in grapefruit Juice. Participating laboratories received training and practice samples until familiar with the procedure. Laboratories then received 8 sample pairs of grapefruit Juice as blind duplicates. Samples were refrigerated and analyzed within 4 days of receipt. Results from 1 laboratory and 6 Individual samples were excluded from the statistical analysis. Method performance was measured by the one-way component of variance analysis. Repeatability relative standard deviations (RSDr) ranged from 7.0 to 15.6%. Reproducibility relative standard deviations (RSDR) ranged from 12.9 to 29.4%

This study aimed to analyze the influence of consciousness of paying taxes, knowledge and understanding of tax laws on the willingness to pay taxes individual taxpayers who do the work free. The sample in this study are 100 individual taxpayers who do the work free on KPP Pratama Pekanbaru randomized using a sampling technique accidental sampling and then analysis of data obtained using the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative analysis includes: validity and reliability, the classic assumption test, multiple regression analysis, hypothesis testing through t test and F, as well as the coefficient of determination (R2). Qualitative analysis is the interpretation of the data obtained in the study and the results of data processing that has been carried out by giving a description and explanation. Statistical analysis showed that the consciousness of paying taxes, knowledge and understanding of tax laws partial and simultaneous positive and significant impact on will pay taxes. Keywords: Willingness to pay taxes, pay taxes awareness and knowledge of tax laws

The implementation of good governance is a prerequisite condition for every government to achieve people's aspirations. Every work unit is determined to reach agency accountability as the consequence of the mandate/responsibility it carries. This is done through considering the resources it manages in order to make government and development run effectively and efficiently, clean and responsibly. The research aims to find out and analyze the influence of performance-based budgeting performance on the accountability of government agencies within Karawang Regency. This research uses descriptive quantitative method in the form of statistical analysis, where the data is sourced from primary and secondary data coming from local government of Karawang Regency or other institutions related to this research. Descriptive method is a method that describes and presents an object as it is. Quantitative analysis in research design is intended to know the influence between independent variables with dependent variable. Based on the results of analysis and discussion, a conclusion can be drawn, that the implementation of performance-based budgeting affects the accountability of local government agencies within Karawang Regency. Improved implementation of performance-based budgeting will be followed by increased accountability of local government agencies. Keywords: Performance-based Budgeting, Accountability, Local Government
