Descritores: Violência contra as mulheres, Identidade de gênero, Mulheres, Violência doméstica, EnfermagemAbstractAim: Identify the occurrences of domestic violence in the records of Primary Healthcare (PHC) services in both western and southeastern regions of the city of Sao Paulo. Method: Descriptive and retrospective research, with a quantitative approach, analyzing secondary data from 18 records of women in situations of domestic violence, all users of health centers. Results:  an increase in the cases of recorded domestic violence by 9% and the importance of the Family Health Program (ESF, in Portuguese) in the process of raising the awareness of the problem at PHC units. Conclusions: Community Health Agents (ACS, in Portuguese) play an important role in raising the awareness of ongoing domestic violence cases and, despite the aforementioned increase of these cases, there is little information on how such a problem has been addressed by Primary Healthcare services. The study shows the necessity for this topic to be part of the formation of healthcare agents and to be understood as part of their very own responsibilities.Key words:  Violence against women, Gender identity, Women, Domestic violence, Nursing

Abstract A new generation of social policies in Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America are being read by scholars as first and foremost the result of top-down initiatives by state elites and technocrats. This article explores what role, if any, middle-class professionals have played and how this role might be framed in analytical terms. The article examines the trajectory of two of the most important new social programs that target the poor in the city of São Paulo, Brazil: the family health program PSF and Renda Mínima. It compares the city-level reform dynamics that have shaped the trajectory of the programs over 18 years. It finds that networks of reformist middle-class professionals that traverse public and private institutions played a substantial role in the creation and evolution of the new programs.

INTRODUCTION: The inclusion of oral health professionals within the Family Health Strategy was legislated in December, 2000, by the Ministery of Health. These professionals are included in a new context which challenges the traditional education of fragmented knowledge and presents the challenge of interprofessional work. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the profile and the interprofessional practice of dentists working in the FHS in the city of Marília, São Paulo. MATERIAL AND METHOD: In 2012, a structured questionnaire and an adaptation of the Readiness Interprofissional Learning Scale (RIPLS), given to 34 dentists working in the FHS in the city of Marília, São Paulo, were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics and the nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance with SNK multiple comparisons post-test, at a significance level of p < 0.05, were used for data analysis. RESULT: The dentists are in the 31 to 40 year age range (70.6%), are mostly women (82.4%) and 79.41% hold a specialization in Public and Family Health. Comparisons of the differences of the mean scores of the responses among professionals, with and without graduate study in this area, were statistically significant in the statements regarding the amount of human resources and interprofessional work. CONCLUSION: Graduate study in Public and Family Health provides dentists with background on the integration of teamwork, the understanding about the process of interprofessional work, the enhancement of common and collaborative professional skills and thus minimizes the effects of an incomplete health team. It is considered that professionals without graduate study are restricted to their traditional and reductionist preparation.

ABSTRACTCONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE: Only a few studies have focused on the main reasons for consultations at primary healthcare units within the Family Health Program. The aim here was to describe the reasons that led patients to seek assistance at four primary healthcare units in the city of Recife, Brazil.DESIGN AND SETTING: Cross-sectional study at primary healthcare units in the city of Recife.METHODS: Among adult patients who were consecutively attended at four primary healthcare units in the city of Recife, their two main reasons for going there were recorded by medical students. The students did not interfere in the consultation dynamics. The data were gathered between September 2010 and March 2011 and between November 2012 and August 2013. The reasons for the consultations were grouped into broader categories in accordance with the International Classification of Primary Care (ICPC-2).RESULTS: 478 patients were included. Their mean age was 45.9 years (± 16 years) and 71% were female. Pain was the main reason for seeking medical attention (34%), followed by evaluation of tests, prescription renewal and medical certificates (17.6%). The most frequent types of pain were musculoskeletal pain (15.7%), headache (10.4%) and abdominal pain (8%). The main reasons for consultation according to ICPC-2 were in the general and nonspecific, musculoskeletal, nervous system-related and digestive tract categories.CONCLUSION:Pain was the most frequent reason for seeking medical attendance at these primary healthcare units.

Abstract This paper presents a case of urban dispute to show how a new political body has been affectively occupying the spheres of participation since the uprisings that occurred in Brazil in June 2013. Minhocão, the target of this urban dispute, is an elevated highway located in the city of São Paulo. Inaugurated in 1970, it has been informally occupied by the inhabitants of its surroundings since the 1980s. Using the notion of “affective re-territorializations” (Hutta, 2019), the article analyses how the rise of conservative and progressive affective fields are reshaping spaces in the contemporary city and, ultimately, influencing urban projects and public policies. Through the analysis of primary and secondary data, the article demonstrates that this space, which used to be the target of informal appropriations, has become the symbol of an affective dispute, being constantly re--signified, alternating progressive and reactionary ideologies.

Abstract Objective: the aim of the present study was to characterize the population of elderly women who have suffered sexual and physical violence and describe the characteristics of this aggression. Method: a cross-sectional study was carried out using secondary data from the Violence and Accident Surveillance Information System, which registers reports of physical and sexual violence against the female population aged 60 and older. Results: in 2013 289 acts of physical violence against elderly women in the city of São Paulo were recorded, and sexual violence was reported in ten cases. Conclusion: physical and sexual violence occurred mainly in the family environment, with the majority of aggressors male and a family member or known to the victim. In their direct and daily dealings with elderly health service users at all levels of complexity, doctors should know how to investigate and identify cases of violence, properly approach patients, act in coordination with other professionals and apply interventions that are effective for each case.
