Ensuring the reliable operation of tanks using leakage control systems: innovation and economics

Представлены результаты исследования, целью которого являлась оценка целесообразности разработки и внедрения автоматизированной системы контроля утечек из резервуаров для хранения нефти и нефтепродуктов - в дополнение или в качестве альтернативы техническим решениям, реализованным на объектах российской системы магистральных трубопроводов. Проведен анализ отечественных и зарубежных нормативных документов в области проектирования и эксплуатации резервуаров и резервуарных парков, а также мирового опыта практического применения систем и технологий обнаружения утечек из резервуаров. Установлено, что технические решения, реализованные на объектах ПАО «Транснефть» с целью оперативного выявления утечек и защиты от их распространения, обеспечивают требуемый уровень контроля. По расчетам прогнозной стоимости определена экономическая эффективность разработки опытного образца автоматизированной системы контроля герметичности резервуаров и дистанционного выявления утечек, основанной на регистрации источников акустической эмиссии и применении волоконно-оптических датчиков. Сделан вывод об отсутствии оснований для выполнения ОКР по разработке данной системы. The article presents results of a study, the purpose of which was to assess the feasibility of developing an automated system for monitoring leaks from oil and oil product storage tanks - additional or alternative technical solutions implemented at the facilities of Russian trunk pipeline system. Domestic and foreign regulatory documents in the field of tank and tank-farm design and operation were analysed, as well as world experience in practical application of systems and technologies for detecting leaks from tanks. It was found that technical solutions implemented at the facilities of PJSC Transneft for the purpose of prompt leak detection and protection from their spread, provide the required level of control. According to predicted cost calculations, the economic efficiency of the development of an automated system prototype for monitoring tank integrity and remote detection of leaks based on the registration of acoustic emission sources and the use of fiber-optic sensors was determined. The conclusion is made that there are no grounds for carrying out the design work on the development of this system.

Рассмотрена автоматизированная система мониторинга воздушной среды с использованием технологий беспилотных летательных аппаратов, оснащенных датчиками для выявления вредных веществ. Представлены алгоритм функционирования системы и программно-аппаратная часть решения. Показано, что канал связи на основе методов шифрования обеспечивает безопасную передачу данных с беспилотного аппарата на сервер. Результаты исследования найдут практическое применение в мониторинге уровня загрязнения воздуха в городах. An automated system for monitoring the air environment using technologies of unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with sensors for detecting harmful substances is considered. The algorithm of the system functioning and the software and hardware part of the solution are presented. It is shown that a communication channel based on encryption methods ensures secure data transfer from an unmanned vehicle to a server. The results of the study will find practical application in monitoring the level of air pollution in cities and in predicting the direction of movement of polluting air masses.

Hydraulic conveying of snow is one of the most promising techniques for snow removal from an urban area. The method for measuring the fraction of snow in a snow-water mixture flowing in a pipe is a key technique for its practical application. A new method based on the conductometric method has been developed in this study. The method was tested using a prototype snow-fraction meter in a testing apparatus and a closed pipeline system. This type of meter has the advantage of in situ measurement of a wide fraction range from zero up to packed value. The meter is capable of quick response, independent of flow velocity or snow properties and nonintrustive in flow. This paper describes the application of techniques for the development of the meter and the test results. This new method is expected to be useful for hydraulic conveying of ice particles or ice cubes, a new technology in the air-conditioning field.

Safety Critical Systems (SCS) are defined as systems controlling critical technological processes, on the proper functioning of which depends human safety. The taxonomy of concepts related to SCS is presented as a dendritic classification scheme. The emphasis is on hierarchical relationships between concepts. After studying global scientific literature, international standards and corporate materials, a classification of the scientific issues accompanying the creation of new SCSs was made.Regarding a part of the broached issues, technical solutions are suggested based on the structural system of the system. In particular, methods and means have been developed to detect and tolerate failures and errors in building the structure and to reduce their adverse impact on the functionality and safety of the systems.Formal models have been developed, concerning which calculations and studies have been performed. Quantitative dependencies are established between the technical and probability parameters of diversity structure on the one hand and the reliability and safety of the system on the other. Conclusions are drawn as regards the practical application of the methods and models.

Currently, the search continues for efficient, low-energy, environmentally friendly technologies for the destruction of weeds. The practical application of an environmentally friendly method of removing weeds using high-pressure water jets is hampered by the lack of technical solutions to ensure compliance with the treatment regimes in field conditions. The article presents a device for the hydraulic removal of weeds for use in gardening. To comply with the treatment regimens when performing technological operations in the field, a system of adaptation of the spray head has been developed. The results of field studies of the developed device with the proposed automated adaptation system are given.

The article provides an integrated analysis of practical application of virtual reality (VR) in healthcare. Modern VR products have been created for the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic syndrome, Alzheimer's disease, alcohol dependence, phobic disorders, and teenage depression. Information on such products is limited to simple scenes, without adaptation to the user. The article shows a prospect for creating a virtual system with biological feedback. The proposed system is a set of portable and stationary devices for recording physiological signals and immersion into a virtual reality environment, as well as smart nodes for registration, processing, and decision-making to correct the user's mental state. Technologies for wire/wireless transfer of audio-visual and parametric information in virtual reality systems are discussed. The analyses include the features (advantages and disadvantages) of using virtual reality in conditions of optical information transfer, wireless protocols, and wire interfaces that provide user communication with virtual reality system and technical solutions.
