Además, esta innovación tecnológica ha iniciado una evolución continua relativa a las operaciones de pago. Las empresas y los investigadores proyectan que la función predominante de las tarjetas de crédito serán progresivamente sustituidos por dispositivos móviles. En este trabajo se describe en detalle NFC y se realiza un análisis de red basado en gráficos para determinar los participantesy las industrias involucradas en la red, así como las relaciones, incluyendo los conflictos, cooperaciones o alianzas entre los actores.Abstract:The recent development of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology has enabled the emergence of payment services using mobile phones. Furthermore, this technological innovation initiated an ongoing evolution concerning payment transactions. Companies and researchers project that the prevalent function of credit cards will be progressively substituted by mobile devices. In this paper NFC is described in detail and a graphed based network analysis is performed to determine players and industries involved in the network as well as the relations, including conflicts, cooperation, or alliances between these actors.

NFC devices are used in contactless payment systems, similar to those used in credit cards electronic ticket smartcards and allow mobile payment to replace and supplement these systems. Specifically, combining NFC enabled devices or NFC mobile phones with RFID tags offers additional benefits when compared to traditional RFID solutions. When an application requires that a device have frequent interaction with tags at numerous process points, the high expense of using traditional handheld RFID readers is cost prohibitive. By replacing handheld readers with NFC-enabled phones at data collection points, the ROI for the application increases. HID Trusted Tag® Services is an example of an application that combines HID Global's patented Near Field Communication (NFC) trusted tag technology and cloud-based authentication platform to add unique and trusted identities to everyday objects that can be read by NFC-enabled mobile devices. This is ideal for establishing proof of presence, digital out of home (DOOH) and electronic visitor verification (EVV) and also serves as a real-world application of the Internet of Things (IoT) that has been discussed in Chapter 1. Some of the examples of NFC based mobile devices is discussed in the chapter.

Near Field Communication (NFC) technology enables mobile phones to store important data safely and reliably. The data can be sent to another phone equipped with NFC or read by NFC reader. Through special applications the data can also be added, subtracted, or modified. This NFC capability allows the phone to be developed into a device that can store important data such as e-money or electronic medical records. In this research has been developed medical record system based on Near Field Communication (NFC). The results of alpha and beta testing show that the developed application has good performance.

Modern society is virtually inconceivable without mobile devices and the consequent use of mobile services. The multitude of technologies incorporated in the tiniest space has turned mobile phones, and smart phones in particular, into the Swiss knives of our times. What is currently perceived to be one of the most promising technologies for the future is Near Field Communication (NFC), which will most likely become the standard in mobile devices in the years to come. Due to the novel nature of this technology, the assessment of its importance for the tourism industry is still relatively unclear. The author is one of the first to focus on NFC in tourism, with the aim of introducing NFC technology and drafting first responses to the following questions: What benefit can NFC technology have for tourism and what functionalities can it trigger? An old saying coming from the telecom world states that nothing can be really considered as a service unless you are able to charge for it. As we move towards a service-oriented society, the necessity to pay in real time for a variety of services via different channels anywhere, anytime, in any currency increases. According to Gartner (www.gartner.com), worldwide mobile phone sales totaled 816.6 million units in 2005, a 21% increase from 2004. Due to the high penetration rates of the mobile devices, they pose an interesting candidate for the real-time payment scenarios. Several efforts have already been done (Karnouskos, 2004), but as new technology comes aboard, new capabilities are also brought along. Near Field Communication (NFC) is such a technology, which due to the industry support and its low cost (in comparison with similar ones) may become dominant in short-range communication among a variety of devices, including mobile phones. NFC is well equipped in order to facilitate mobile payments with little interference from the user side.

In this paper we present a pervasive proposal for advertising using mobile phones, Near Field Communication, geolocation and air hand gestures. Advertising post built by users in public/private spaces can store multiple ads containing any kind of textual, graphic or multimedia information. Ads are automatically shows in the mobile phone of the users using a notification based process considering relative user location between the posts and the user preferences. Moreover, ads can be stored and retrieved from the post using hand gestures and Near Field Communication technology. Secure management of information about users, posts, and notifications and the use of instant messaging enable the development of systems to extend the current advertising strategies based on Web, large displays or digital signage.

The navigation ecosystem is rapidly changing. Indoor navigation has attracted attention with the introduction of mobile devices into the market. Although mobile devices are used more often for outdoor navigation, they have opened up opportunities for indoor navigation proponents. Near Field Communication in indoor navigation is still in its exploratory stage. Despite an increase in the variety of indoor navigation research, challenges remain in designing a framework that is neither complex nor expensive. NFC is a novel method of navigating in indoor environments. Providing an overview of its benefits and usefulness compared with existing indoor navigation technologies is the subject of this chapter.

Today, users can access in the network environments anywhere and anytime through a mobile devices. These environments also can be able to perform mobile payment through these devices anytime and anywhere. Especially, in case of a recently being spotlighted NFC can operate high-strength crypto algorithms unlike the existing RFID. And also, this supports the technology as ‘Tag to Device’, ‘Device to Device’. Recently, various studies are being actively researched about the mobile payment system through these NFC devices. In case of existing papers are performed payment steps using most of a Public Key(PKI) or Symmetric-Key based heavy crypto algorithms, therefore, can be slow than how to use a hash-function and XOR. And also, environment construction of tracing, storing and managing about payment information is not strong. In this paper, to solve these problems, we were able to improve on performing time by lightweight authentication method using a hash function and XOR algorithms. And also, we designed that data about the payment information safe can be stored into the USIM File System. Thus, because of this method, we propose a scheme that can be traced about the deny payment.
