The Japanese language has a 128  million speakers and has around 4 million learners in the world. In Ecuador, however, there are only six institutions offer Japanese classes to 150 learners. This small number of learners may be due in part to geographic and cultural distance, as well as the economic and political circumstances separating Ecuador and Japan. Furthermore, the uniqueness of the linguistic characteristics of Japanese is also a major factor influencing learner reluctance. One of the principal characteristics of this language is its three writing systems: hiragana, katakana and kanji. This paper outlines the linguistic characteristics of Japanese, focusing on hiragana, katakana and kanji, and sets out the difficulties which learners experience in this area. In the second part, with reference to these characteristics, the study introduces class activities to show how learners may acquire the basic characters of the writing systems as an important first step in learning Japanese, with the aim of reducing the burden on the language acquisition process. Through this research, the importance of peer-learning and collaboration between learners and teachers is highlighted as a means of facilitating approaches to the teaching and learning of Japanese.

In the teaching and learning of English as a Foreign Language, the active participation of students in the classroom plays an important role in acquiring the target language. As claimed by Lightbown and Spada (2006) that when the students participate orally with the teachers or among their peers in the classroom it means that they are forced to be involved in the negotiation of meaning. It means that whenever the students reply to the teachers or their peers’ questions and give comments, they are able to express and clarify their intentions, thoughts and opinions which are essential to language acquisition. There is a cultural perspective affected the students unwillingness to speak in the EFL classroom. Cultural perceptions are at play right from the beginning of the language acquisition process (Kinyua: 2009) . The expectations in terms of how much language and in what order it should be acquired are also determined by the culture in which the child is reared. The aim of this research is to investigate and analyze the students’ unwillingness to speak in ESL classroom based on SLA and cultural perspective. It is expected that this research could be beneficial for English teacher especially to English Foreign Language teacher to find out the causes of the students unwillingness in speaking class. The data are collected through the observation and students’ speaking performance.

AbstractThe Corona period created great challenges in the teaching and learning process. This presentation describes a research based on studying the subject of big data using virtual escape rooms. Due to the period it was decided that the final task in the Big Data course would be to build a virtual escape room that deals with a topic from the world of Big Data. The aim of the study was to examine how the understanding of various topics related to Big Data is sharpened when they are taught through virtual escape rooms. Each group of students chose a topic from the world of big data and built a virtual escape room around it. Peer learning was then performed, and each group edited rooms of other groups, so that each group learned about a variety of topics related to the big data world. By monitoring peer learning it was possible to assess the nature of the learning process experienced by the group. This unique learning allows for flexibility in terms of time and place in holding meetings. The interactions between the various group members contribute to enrichment the knowledge and the development of creative ideas.According to the results of the study, this type of learning sharpened different skills among the participants - social, communicative and thinking. It also developed a deep understanding when the escape room practically demonstrates the topic of big data in an optimal way through a variety of representations. During the activity in the escape room there is created an interesting and original connection between the materials and the ideas, open to a variety of interpretations. Digital tools are used effectively and creatively that contribute to understanding the message (Kemp, 2018).

The subject of alignment is not new to the world of education. Today however, it has come to mean different things and to have a heuristic value in education according to research in different areas, not least for neuroscience, and to attention to skills and to the alternation framework. This paper, after looking at the classic references that already attributed an important role to alignment in education processes, looks at the strategic role of alignment in the current context, outlining the shared construction processes and focusing on some of the ways in which this is put into effect.Alignment is part of a participatory, enactive approach that gives a central role to the interaction between teaching and learning, avoiding the limits of behaviourism, which has a greater bias towards teaching, and cognitivism/constructivism, which focus their attention on learning and in any case, on that which separates a teacher preparing the environment and a student working in it.

Palabra clave: Pedagogía, Administración, Éxito universitarioABSTRACT When reading the measurements made in the world of college performances, it is remarkable, questionable and unpleasant that only a Public University ranks 900 in the world and 30th in Latin America, the others are listed neither the post 1500 globally nor 75 in Latin America. Something is happening to the Peruvian university system that does not stand any comparison with its counterparts in the region or the world. Facing the reality that rankings show repeatedly, it will not be intemperate to accept that   global university requires rigorous  effort and variables: • High quality contents that impact daily life.• Flexibility to select and deepen knowledge.• Easy and unlimited access to information.• Many simulation and interactivity with the real environment.• Well recognized and prestigious teachers.• Entrepreneurship promotion and creative view.• Widespread social networks worldwide.• Significant support of information technology and communication.• Endeavour and tutoring to student.• Research linked to national and local development.• Permanent linking mechanisms with graduated students.• Existence of an advisory body of the productive world.•  Consistent administrative support.• Quality of  the results accreditation. In that scenario, the Public University System must change and, in the new form of performance that is demanded, assuming some changes and having a real harmony between pedagogy and administration, will emerge the success it deserves, as both have to start nurturing and supporting for the teaching and learning process . Keyword: Pedagogy, Management,  College Success
