ABSTRACT In the area of North Tapanuli Regency, a special economic zone for Taman Bunga Tourism will be developed; so that in the future this area will require large amounts of clean water for consumption and water tourism facilities. In order to anticipate this water demand, a research was carried out to determine the feasibility of Lake Toba water in the North Tapanuli Regency area for drinking water raw water and water tourism infrastructure. This research was carried out with in-situ observations and water sampling for analysis in the laboratory according to the procedures of ISO 5667-6:2014 and ISO 5667-3:2012. This study suggests that Lake Toba water in the North Tapanuli Regency area is not yet suitable to be used as raw water for drinking water and water tourism infrastructure because it still has parameters of BOD, COD, Iron, and Barium that do not meet (exceed) the water quality criteria; according to Attachment Number VI to Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management Keywords: Lake Toba, North Tapanuli, raw water, water recreation, water quality standard.   ABSTRAK Di wilayah Kabupaten Tapanuli utara akan dikembangkan kawasan ekonomi khusus Pariwisata Taman Bunga, sehingga pada saatnya nanti kawasan ini akan memerlukan air bersih dalam jumlah besar untuk konsumsi dan sarana wisata air. Dalam rangka mengantisipasi kebutuhan air tersebut maka dilaksanakan penelitian untuk mengetahui kelayakan air Danau Toba di wilayah Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara untuk air baku air minum dan sarana prasarana wisata air. Penelitian dlaksanakan dengan pengamatan in-situ dan pengambilan sampel untuk analisis laboratorium sesuai prosedur ISO 5667-6:2014 dan ISO 5667-3:2012. Penelitian ini mengisaratkan bahwa air Danau Toba di wilayah Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara tidak layak untuk dijadikan air baku air minum dan sarana prasarana rekreasi air karena masih memiliki parameter BOD, COD, total fosfat, besi, dan barium yang tidak memenuhi nilai baku mutu yang berlaku. Untuk memanfatkan air Danau Toba di wilayah Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara diperlukan upaya penurunan konsentrasi parameter-parameter tersebut. This work aims to provide raw water from brackish water by reducing the salt content in brackish water to fresh water using the column method. Moringa leaves were chosen as the adsorber considering their high availability in partner locations. The location chosen was Habibie Mustafa's college in Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra. Brackish water treatment equipment is designed using a distillation system. In the column refining, the filter tubes used are made using PVC pipe with a height of 45 cm (Moringa leaves), a height of 35 cm (sand), and a height of 25 cm (charcoal). Each filter media in the tube is limited by using a palm fiber. The use of fibers is used as a barrier between the filter media so that the filter media remains in its position during the filtration process so that there is no mixing of the filter media in the filter tube. The results obtained are clean water that can be consumed according to drinking water quality standards. The results obtained were raw water with TDS specifications = 405 mg / L, turbidity 4 NTU, sulfate = 240 mg / L zinc = 2 mg / L, and Mn = 0.35 mg / L. The results obtained are still on the threshold of drinking water quality standard requirements by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 492 / Menkes / Per / IV / 2010 concerning drinking water quality requirements

The lack of clean water distribution by local water service (PDAM) of Palangka Raya city is the major reason for people around the final processing site/landfill (Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir) at Km 14 to use groundwater for their daily life. The landfill may cause pollution over groundwater known as leachate, which commonly unnoticed by its users. This study aims at assessing the quality of groundwater in that area. The groundwater was taken at different distances from the site in three rainless-days. The physical, chemical and biology parameters of groundwater are observed in the field (in situ) and analyzed in the laboratory, refers to water quality standard of Class I, according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 and Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017. Public opinion on that issue is cached through interview. The results showed that the groundwater around the landfill in three rainless-days was harmless to be consumed as drinking water, and did not exceed the water quality standards stipulated by government in term of odorless, tasteless, and colorless. Some indicators also show that the groundwater meets the specified quality standards, i.e. TDS (17-68.14 mg/L), DHL (17,15-69.39 ?s), turbidity (0.11-2.50 mg/L), iron (0.227-0.71 mg/L), manganese (<0.0123-0.02 mg/L), coliform (<1.8-280 MPN/100 ml), while Pb and H2S were not detected. From community side, there are no any health complaints arise as long as they use the water.

<p>Administratively, Giriasih Rusunawa located at Jalan Griya Asri Permai, Kampung Babakan RT 01 and 02 RW 18 Kampung Babakan, Giriasih Village, Batujajar Sub-District, West Bandung Regency, is in a difficult area for clean water. This study aims to determine the alternative sources of raw water that will be used to meet water needs in Rusunawa. Alternative raw water sources, namely groundwater, surface and rain. The method used by comparing water quality with quality standards. The parameters tested consisted of physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters. The quality monitored is compared to the quality standard based on Government Regulation Number 82 of 2001 Class I concerning Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control and PerMenKes No. 492 of 2010 concerning Drinking Water Quality Requirements. Based on the results of analysis of raw water sources, surface water is very possible to be used as a source of water to meet the needs of water in flat from all aspects. Quantity aspect, Saguling Reservoir guarantees continuous availability of raw water, which is 4,000 l / sec and can still be developed up to 5,000 l / sec. Parameters that do not meet quality standards on surface water are: BOD, COD, Phosphate and Manganese. Based on the results of the calculation of water requirements of 3 l / sec to serve the water needs in the flat.</p>

Wadaslintang Reservoir has potential as a source of raw water for drinking water. One indicator to determine water quality is to use coliform bacteria. The purpose of this study is to determine the water quality of the Wadaslintang Reservoir as a source of drinking water based on microbiological parameters by referring to Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 82 of 2001 concerning water quality management and water pollution control. The water sampling method is based on purposive sampling at ten research stations for eight months, microbiological analysis using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method. The results showed that the status of the Wadaslintang Reservoir was polluted based on total coliform criteria. Utilization of reservoir water as raw water for drinking water needs to be done further processing to anticipate deterioration in health.

Lake Huron is a large, deep, oligotrophic lake, centrally located in the St. Lawrence Great Lakes system. Manitoulin Island and the Bruce Peninsula divide the lake into the relatively discrete water masses of the North Channel, Georgian Bay, and Lake Huron proper. Water quality in Lake Huron has deteriorated only slightly since the early 1800s. The only significant changes are confined to areas adjacent to centers of human activity, chiefly Saginaw Bay and various harbours and estuaries in Georgian Bay and the North Channel. The lake has supported a commercial fishery which has produced annual catches as high as 13000 metric tons. A dramatic decline in landings of commercially valuable species and an instability in fisheries resources has occurred in all areas of the lake since the 1940s. This depression of populations of valued species was associated with the accidental introduction of the sea lamprey, instances of overfishing and deterioration of water quality in Saginaw Bay. The present depressed state of the fisheries will undoubtedly persist until sea lamprey control is achieved and climax predators are reestablished. Governments are proceeding toward the establishment of water quality criteria and fishery management practices which, hopefully, will stabilize the fisheries and prevent further deterioration of the aquatic environment.

Water quality criteria are all physicochemical and biological indicators that characterize a body of water. The current study aims at investigating the quality of two natural waters in the Gorj County sub-mountainous area (�u�i�a, Vaidei and Runc, capture Runc) used as drinking water sources of Targu-Jiu. Sampling and determinations use spectrophotometric, gravimetric, volumetric or electrometric techniques in accordance with standard methods (SR ISO and / or SR EN) for a series of physicochemical indicators analyzed between January - December 2017: thermal and acidification, oxygen regime, nutrients, salinity, relevant pollutants. Experimental values, annual averages related to the quality standards for potable water, ecological status and classification of water bodies, place the water of the two rivers in the drinking water category A1 and the first class of ecological quality. The Water Quality Index (WQI) for 9 selected parameters highlighted a sensitively close overall level of the water of the two rivers Susita (88) and Runc (85.2), the good quality category (7o-9o), reported to national quality standards for surface water which can be used for delivery as drinking water.The study of indicators of the two rivers in relation to national rules aligned with the European water requirements and research shows a high qualitative status corresponding to community uses.

ABSTRACT                The increasing of people amount, the more activities done happen around the Komering River. Many activities done can potentially lead to a decrease in water quality in the river. This study aimed to analyze the water quality in accordance with the raw river water quality criteria for class I and to analyze the water quality state in the Komering river of  Ulak Jermun village Sirah Pulau Padang District. This research was conducted in the Komering Ulak Jermun village Sirah Pulau Padang District from November to December 2016. The observation of water samples conducted at the Laboratory Pengujian Terpadu of Chemistry Faculty of Mathematics University of Sriwijaya. This research used survey method that consists of three stations with 9 sampling points and sampling was conducted 4 times in a month. Based on the analysis of water quality parameters are still within the range of quality standards among others, temperature, pH, BOD5 and phosphate while the water quality parameters exceed the quality standard that TSS, dissolved oxygen, COD and ammonia and based on the analysis storet Komering river waters classified into water quality class C, i.e. moderately contaminated. Keywords: Komering River, Water Quality, Storet  Methods, Water Quality Index

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted to determine the status of Lake Toba water quality in the area of Toba Samosir (Tobasa) Regency and the feasibility of its use. This study revealed that BOD, COD, iron and free Cl2 of Lake Toba Tobasa regency exceed water quality criteria for Class I and Class II based on Governor Decree No. 1 Year 2009 on Raw water quality of Lake Toba in North Sumatera. High COD and BOD values imply that Lake Toba water was polluted by organic matter presumably originated from floating net cages (KJA), while free Cl2 is thought to originate from domestic waste activities in Parapat City and its surroundings. Abstract The water of Lake Rawa Pening is used as a source of drinking water. Indonesian Government Regulation Number 82 of 2001 on Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control stated that the water quality of Lake Rawa Pening should meet the quality standard of first grade and be categorized as no polluted water. The purpose of this research was to assess the water quality based on Indonesian regulation and to assess water quality based on international regulations. The quality of water was assessed using a survey method in 7 sites of the Lake Rawa Pening 3 times for 3 months. Parameters measured were all the water quality parameters required in accordance with Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. The results indicated that there were 13 values that exceeded the water quality standard of first grade. These exceeded parameters were total suspended solids (TSS), biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), orthophosphate (PO4), NO3, As, Se, Cd, Mn, Cu, Pb, H2S, faecal coliform, and total coliform. Water quality status of Lake Rawa Pening was categorized as heavily polluted. The water quality of Lake Rawa Pening should be improved by reducing the pollutants entering the lake by restriction of human activities causing lake pollution.
