The main problems faced by fish farmers are waste, uneaten feed and feces.  Which can reduce water quality and have a significant impact on fish growth and survival. This study aims to determine the effect of giving various types of probiotics on the growth rate and viability of Mutiara catfish raised using the biofloc system. We used Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus subtilis, and Nitrobacter as probiotic bacteria. This study used a completely randomized design experimental method with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely K = probiotic less/control, P1= Lactobacillus probiotic, P2= Bacillus subtilis probiotic, P3= Nitrobacter probiotic. Catfish are reared for 30 days, feeding 3 times a day with FR 5% of body biomass. The parameters observed were absolute length growth, survival, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Specific Growth Rate (SGR) which were analyzed using ANOVA (P <0.05) and Duncan's test to see the differences between treatments. The results showed that the bacteria probiotic treatment had no significant effect on FCR and fish survival, but had a Lactobacillus sp significant effect on growth in absolute length (3.96 ± 0.06 cm) and the growth rate of daily specific weight (5,45±0,18 %/day).  To increase the length and weight growth of catfish fry, probiotic bacteria of the type Lactobacillus sp. on cultivation media.Key words :biofloc, growth rate, lactobacillus, mutiara catfish, probiotics

Gourami fish (Osphronemus goramy Lac.) is a freshwater fish commodity that has high economic value because its very popular with all people. But the feed commonly used by gourami fish cultivators is factory-made feed, which is a commercial feed that usually costs quite a lot of money due to the material for making commercial feed, some of which still import from abroad. Therefore it is necessary to find a solution to reduce the cost of cultivation production by replacing commercial feed with homemade feed made from local raw materials. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of local raw materials formulated to make feed suitable for the growth of gourami fish (Osphronemus goramy Lac.) And to analyze the production costs of goramy feed made from local raw materials. This study consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications using the completely randomized design (CRD) method. The treatments consisted of treatment A (30% protein), treatment B (33% protein), treatment C (36% protein), and treatment D (commercial). The results of this study indicate that the treatment of feed A, B, and C produced the same growth as commercial feed, and treatment of feed A resulted in the lowest feed production costs compared to other treatments. Key word: feed, growth, local raw materials, Oshphronemus goramy

The problem in Mutiara strain of North African catfish Clarias gariepinus culture is that the production of both larvae and seeds is still inhibited by the seasonal reproductive cycle where the catfish only spawn once during the spawning season.  The purposes of this study were to evaluate the effect of administration of oodev and estradiol-17ß on the maturity process and to determine the best doses in accelerating the maturion of female Mutiara strain. This study used a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 3 individual replications. The treatments were combination between dose Oodev (PMSG and Anti-Dopamine) and dose Estradiol-17ß in feed (both doses in ml/kg feed):A(0+0), B(0.5+0), C(0+0.6), D(0.5+0,6), E(1+1). The results of this study showed that the administration of Oodev and Estradiol-17ß significant affect on gonadal maturity index about 82.21% compared to control and acclerating maturation of female mutiara strain with doses the best is the treatment E (oodev 1 ml/kg feed+estradiol-17ß 1 ml/kg feed).Key words: Clarias gariepinus, dose, estradiol-17ß, maturation, oodev

Diatoms are a type of microalgae with a quite strong potential in the health sector as antioxidants, anticancer, and antivirals. But until now in Indonesia is still very rarely carried out research on the antioxidant potential of diatoms. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant potential of Amphora sp. extracted with methanol. The method used in the extraction process is maceration, with a ratio of sample and methanol 1: 3 (300 g: 900 ml). The evaporation process compacted maserate resulting from maceration, then analyzed the total chlorophyll content, total flavonoids, and total phenols. Amphora sp. extraction results showed good potential with 7.08 ppm chlorophyll content, total flavonoids 6,299 ppm, and total phenol 7,085 ppm, and IC50 DPPH values of 3332.5 ppm. The IC50 value of the extract of Amphora sp. still classified as very weak antioxidant activity, but in general the extract of Amphora sp. has other bioactive potentials such as chlorophyll, flavonoids, and total phenol which can be used as material for further studies for the development of natural medicinal ingredients from Amphora sp.Key words: antioxidant, diatome, DPPH, macaration, methanol.

Sand mining in the village of Sp Padang is carried out in an open pit mining model through several processes, for example the washing process which is carried out to separate sand from other components. When the sludge in the form of mud and fine sand enters the river, this part causes the quality of river water around the sand mining location to decline. The purpose of this research was to determine the condition of water quality due to sand mining in the river Sp.Padang.The type of data collected is primary data. The research was conducted at 3 stations on the river Sp.Padang.The physico-chemical parameters of river water are used, namely: turbidity, temperature, pH, TSS, DO, BOD, COD, water discharge and current velocity. The data obtained from the laboratory were then analyzed, then comparisons were made with the Storet method.Sampling for water quality replaces the surrounding area with direct measurements and measurements made in the laboratory. The use of the Storet method refers to PP No. 82 of 2001. The principle of Storet is to integrate river water quality data with river water standards and then adjust it according to its use, by classifying water quality into four classes. The results of the data analysis of the quality of river water in Sp.Padang as a result of the sand mining activities are categorized as good class B (lightly polluted) with a score of -6. Sand mining activity affects the water quality of the Sirah River in Padang Island, OKI Regency.Key words : OKI, sand miners, storet method, water quality
