Three among five Provinces (South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi and Gorontalo) in Sulawesi island, Indonesia are endemic area of anthrax disease. The aim of this study was to describe the dynamic of anthrax during 2015-2018 and identified risk area in Sulawesi. We determined case of anthrax disease from passive-active surveillance data Disease Investigation Center Maros (DIC Maros) during 2015-2018. Spatial distribution describe by mapping using Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS), the temporal distribution describe using epidemic curve and we calculated the proportion of animal infected of anthrax. There were thirty-three cases of anthrax spreaded into three Provinces in Sulawesi, there were twenty one cases in South Sulawesi (63.6%), nine cases in Gorontalo (27.3%) and three cases West Sulawesi (9.1%). There were eleven cases (33.3%) in 2015, fifteen cases (45.5%) in 2016, four cases (12%) in 2017 and three cases (6%) in 2018. Anthrax occured respectively in dry season in South Sulawesi and Gorontalo, different with West Sulawesi anthrax occured in rainy season. The proportion of the animal infected were 87% in cattle, 7% in horse, 3% goat and 3% in deer. Vaccination of anthrax in South Sulawesi and Gorontalo should be conducted in May; in Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi in Februari.

 This study is on the assessment of  spatio-temporal levels of physico-chemical parameters of groundwater in domesticwells located at points around some selected dumpsite due to dumpsite leachate on groundwater pollution. Three dumpsites: Orile (O); Solous 3 (S3) and Solous 1 (S1). Leachate from the respective dumpsites and water from the 10 select wells within 1 km radius of each dumpsites were sampled and analyzed in the laborator. .Spatial distribution maps of the parameters were generated using Geographic Information System and ArchMap 10.5. Laboratory results  revealed that water in domestic wells were deteriorated due to the percolation of  leachate. Spatial analysis revealed that pollution of groundwater was higher within a distance of 345 m from the dumpsites and decreases as the distance increases from the dumpsites. The leachate concentration of  Cl, SO4, COD and BOD5  from O; TDS, and EC  from S3; Cr and Pb  from S1 dumpsites respectively were above WHO leachate disposal values. The study showed that O impacted more on  groundwater quality  than S3 and S1. It is recommended that water from these wells should not used without treatment.Keywords: Leachate, dumpsite, groundwater, wells, pollution.

Karanganyar District is a hilly area with steep slopes, rock constituent of young volcanic deposits of Lawu Volcano products, thick soil and relatively high rainfall, so it is potential for large landslides in this region. The landuse in the Karanganyar District including the Tengklik Village is generally dominated by rice fields, seasonal gardens and settlements. Plantation made up in areas with steep topography has great influence on erosion and landslides. Similarly, many settlements are built on a slope so that the area is very vulnerable to the threat of landslides. In the rainy season landslides are common. The potential hazard of landslidesoccurred in 14 sub districts in Karanganyar District. Large landslides have occurred in Karanganyar on December 26, 2007 which claimed the lives of 62 people, with the greatest victims were in the Ledoksari Village, Tawangmangu. The Tengklik Village has already experienced creep type landslides, which have destroyed settlements, roads, seasonalgardens and all existing infrastructure in the area. In order to do the proper handling and anticipation of a catastrophic landslide, a variety of technological applications landslides using geographic information system (GIS) was then carried out, to detect the configuration of 2D geoelectrical subsurface prone areas for landslide risk study and regional planning.

Abstract. The spatio-temporal distribution of lightning flashes over Israel and the neighboring area and its relation to the regional synoptic systems has been studied, based on data obtained from the Israel Lightning Location System (ILLS) operated by the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC). The system detects cloud-to-ground lightning discharges in a range of ~500 km around central Israel (32.5° N, 35° E). The study period was defined for annual activity from August through July, for 5 seasons in the period 2004–2010. The spatial distribution of lightning flash density indicates the highest concentration over the Mediterranean Sea, attributed to the contribution of moisture as well as sensible and latent heat fluxes from the sea surface. Other centers of high density appear along the coastal plain, orographic barriers, especially in northern Israel, and downwind from the metropolitan area of Tel Aviv, Israel. The intra-annual distribution shows an absence of lightning during the summer months (JJA) due to the persistent subsidence over the region. The vast majority of lightning activity occurs during 7 months, October to April. Although over 65 % of the rainfall in Israel is obtained during the winter months (DJF), only 35 % of lightning flashes occur in these months. October is the richest month, with 40 % of total annual flashes. This is attributed both to tropical intrusions, i.e., Red Sea Troughs (RST), which are characterized by intense static instability and convection, and to Cyprus Lows (CLs) arriving from the west. Based on daily study of the spatial distribution of lightning, three patterns have been defined; "land", "maritime" and "hybrid". CLs cause high flash density over the Mediterranean Sea, whereas some of the RST days are typified by flashes over land. The pattern defined "hybrid" is a combination of the other 2 patterns. On CL days, only the maritime pattern was noted, whereas in RST days all 3 patterns were found, including the maritime pattern. It is suggested that atmospheric processes associated with RST produce the land pattern. Hence, the occurrence of a maritime pattern in days identified as RST reflects an "apparent RST". The hybrid pattern was associated with an RST located east of Israel. This synoptic type produced the typical flash maximum over the land, but the upper-level trough together with the onshore winds it induced over the eastern coast of the Mediterranean resulted in lightning activity over the sea as well, similar to that of CLs. It is suggested that the spatial distribution patterns of lightning may better identify the synoptic system responsible, a CL, an "active RST" or an "apparent RST". The electrical activity thus serves as a "fingerprint" for the synoptic situation responsible for its generation.

Objective. Estimate the prevalence and spatial modeling of PPR in the small ruminant population of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Iran, during 2009–2014. Materials and methods. Data were collected from veterinary organization and Offices in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province and data analysis was carried out using and IBM SPSS version 22 and Office 2010. For spatial modeling geographic information system (QGIS and PCI-Geomatic) was used. Results. This study showed that the overall prevalence of PPR during the years 2009 to 2014 was 1.37%. Koohrang, Ardal, Lordegan, Ben, Borougen, Shahrekord, Farsan and Kiar cities had the highest prevalence of PPR, respectively. The highest PPR infection rate was observed in the March and goat more affected rather than other ruminants. Conclusions. Our findings provide evidence of a rather common prevalence of PPR and its spatial distribution in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. Using statistical tests for data analysis of PPR and its spatial modeling researchers can predict the incidence of disease in the future and could select appropriate measures of disease control.

The present study investigated the composition, spatio-temporal distribution, and the influence of temperature and salinity on the density of brachyurans associated with rocky substrates in an estuary of the Brazilian Amazonian coast. Specimens were collected monthly at four sites representing the two margins (profiles), zones (inner and outer estuary) and the lower and upper mediolittoral portions at each site of the Marapanim estuary. A total of 14 species were collected and multivariate analyses revealed that the species composition varied systematically between zones, margins, mediolittoral sectors and seasons, with the more saline zone, the most eroded margin, the lower mediolittoral, and the rainy season all being characterized by higher densities and a more homogeneous distribution of species. In general, high densities of brachyurans, but low species richness, and marked dominance characterized the sites. Salinity proved to play an important role in the structuring of the community.
