RESUMENLas prácticas preprofesionales en las especialidades de Mecánica en la Educación Técnica y Profesional han presentado limitaciones en la calidad de formación del egresado, cuestión motivada fundamentalmente por las deficiencias en la preparación para la dirección del sistema de influencias. De este modo, en el presente artículo se presenta una metodología para la dirección de las prácticas, la cual ha sido diseñada teniendo en cuenta las funciones de los profesores y tutores. The role of technical and vocational education in enhancing indigenous capabilities is highly discussed by authors, observers, and academics. In fact, there is a common understanding that technical and vocational education is a dual educational system that allow students to transfer what they have been learned in classroom, laboratories and workshops into real work environment. The success of technical and vocational education would depend on the management mentality in the ability in forging and effective and fruitful linkage with industries and business. It is a management responsibility to identify and determine the level of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are mostly required by the recipients of technical and vocational graduates.  Kuwait, as one of the gulf states, the shortage of indigenous skilled and semi-skilled manpower in noted in essential sectors of the economy (e.g., electricity and water and the oil sector). Decision makers have realized the significant role of technical and vocational institutions in providing essential sectors of the economy with the skilled and semi-skilled national manpower in order to reduce, to great extent, the dependence on expatriates. The Higher Institute of Energy, HIE, was forged by the Kuwaiti Government with the aim to equipped local manpower with the know-how and know-why that are applied in local industries. The research is focus on measuring the perception of a sample of heads of supervisors at the Ministry of Electricity and Water and at the oil sector towards the quality of HIE graduates. The research is based on extensive field work that encompasses a review of the related literature, interviews with a sample of heads of supervisors at the Ministry of Electricity and Water and at the oil sector to assess the quality of field training program and the standard of the HIE graduates. Finally, the research will argue that unless the HIE recognize and appreciate the value of building a strong linkage with local industries, its contribution in tackling the shortage of skilled and semi-skilled indigenous in essential sectors on the economy will be below the government expectations, thus continuing relaying on expatriates for years ahead.

This article explores the relationship between cancer survivors’ use of self-management practices and their search for normality. Using Frank’s illness narratives and other theoretical literature on normality in chronic illness, it draws on findings from a qualitative study to explore different ways cancer survivors use self-management practices to re-establish normality in their lives post-cancer. The findings suggest that “normality” represents different things to cancer survivors. We suggest that normality in survivorship is not a static concept but is fluid, and at certain times, cancer survivors may display some or all of these different versions of normality. The findings show that self-management practices can help cancer survivors experiment with different health and lifestyle processes to help support their “normal” daily lifestyle activities, quality of life, and well-being.

This article focuses on the challenges of technical and vocational education in mitigating climate change induced catastrophes in Nigeria. The concepts of climate change and related areas were discussed in the paper including the causes and effects of climate, as well as, issues of prevention, preparation and adaptation processes. The roles that technical and vocational education may play in preparing citizens to prevent, adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change are presented. These include technical assistance; conducting research with a view to improve the quality of predictions of future changes to regional and environmental conditions; and changing the attitudes of citizens through education and public enlightenment to achieve a balance between ethics and the management of the environment. In light of these issues, the authors view technical and vocational education as an effective and significant tool in ameliorating the effects of climate change. It is recommended that technical and vocational education practitioners use their understanding of science and technology to deal with challenges posed by climate change in Nigeria.

TVET is a significant component in the scheme of things when we refer to India as a ‘young nation' with 28 (twenty-eight) million population of youth being added every year and in future about 90 (ninety) per cent of employment opportunities may require vocational skills in collaboration with industry. It can link competence of youth with Industry needs. Bringing Vocational Training closer to the needs of dynamically changing and evolving markets can help young people move into more productive and sustainable jobs. The industrial and market trends clearly indicate the necessity of strengthening the vocational education in India. The basic objective of this paper is to assess and describe the Role of Industry in ensuring quality of TVET so as to bridge the gap between actual and perceived quality of manpower. It also summarizes the factors influencing employability in present Indian and International scenario and its problems. This paper focuses on the relevance of Technical, Vocational Education and Training to specialized industry and economics demanding higher level of skills.

It is shown that the use of simulation technologies in the learning process allows medical students to gain practical experience and qualitatively increase the level of their professionalism against the background of the appropriate level of theoretical knowledge. The content of simulation training as an art to imitate reality, the sequence of events and actions or the mental process of training in the quality of medical care to patients is considered. Its advantages and disadvantages are revealed. An analysis of the effectiveness of simulation training with the involvement of a standardized “patient” during the internship by students of the Department of Surgical Diseases. The role of teachers of the department is shown, who observed the behavior of the “standardized patient” and evaluated the results of students’ work according to the scoring system, according to the criteria. A detailed analysis of the training results, a joint discussion of measures aimed at improving treatment and diagnostic tactics and errors were conducted. Methodical recommendations for training have been developed. It is concluded that the method of “standardized patients” is an effective way to gain practical experience of clinical competence and its evaluation. The worldwide spread of this method indicates the need for its intensive implementation in Ukraine.

In this writing, the author does a study about the role of teachers in utilizing learning media as a source of learning for millennial students. This study departs from the anxiety of the author about the condition of the teachers in the digital era. The author sees that at this time some teachers have difficulties in dealing with millennial students. Based on this problem, the authors do a study about the role of teachers in utilizing learning media empirically. Based on the study which did by the authors in this paper, three important point must be done by teachers in dealing with millennial students, that are: first, teachers can take advantage of all forms of technological development. Technological progress is something that cannot be avoided in this life, so the teacher should not be allergic to all forms of development that exist. Second, teachers can understand the power of the media as a source of learning. The benefit of learning media is determining the quality of learning delivered by a teacher. Therefore, teachers need to prepare learning media before teaching in class. After that, the teacher has to understand the needs of the millennial students. The needs of millennial students are not the same, but at least the presence of teachers provides solutions both cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The uniqueness of the teacher, in this case, is a teacher can act as anything as long as it can influence student behavior towards positive actions, even those students can become actors of the progress of the media. This is evident from the student activities that have been narrated in this paper
