Nowadays, no one can deny the role played by technical and vocational education in reducing the rate of youth unemployment, low rate of poverty, high wages, and livelihood for workers, particularly younger workers. Technical and vocational education is a dual type of educational system that permit students to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes mostly needed by industries and business. The quality of technical and vocational educations would facilitate the transformation of students from classrooms, workshops, and laboratories into real work environment. The success of technical and vocational education in achieving the its objectives would depend on the quality of management in forging a strong linkage with industries and business. The concept of working in a “black box” would not apply in technical and vocational education since industries and business are the main contributors in shaping students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Kuwait, as one of the gulf states, the shortage of indigenous skilled and semi-skilled manpower in noted in essential sectors of the economy (e.g., electricity and water and the oil sector). Key figures have appreciated the significant role of technical and vocational institutions in providing essential sectors of the economy with the skilled and semi-skilled national manpower in order to reduce, to great extent, the dependence on expatriates. The Sabah Al-Salem Industrial Institute, SSII, and Shuwaikh Industrial Institute, SII, was forged between 1992-1993, by the Kuwaiti Government with the aim to equipped local manpower with the know-how and know-why that are applied in local industries and business. The research is focus on measuring the perception of a sample of heads of supervisors at the Ministry of Electricity and Water and at the oil sector towards the quality of the graduates from the Sabah Al-Salem Industrial Institute, SSII, and Shuwaikh Industrial Institute, SII. The research is based on extensive field work that encompasses a review of the related literature, interviews with a sample of heads of supervisors at the Ministry of Electricity and Water and at the oil sector to assess the quality of SSII & SII, graduates. Finally, the research will argue that unless the Sabah Al-Salem Industrial Institute, SSII, and the Shuwaikh Industrial Institute, SII, recognize and appreciate the value of building a strong linkage with local industries, its contribution in tackling the shortage of skilled and semi-skilled indigenous in essential sectors on the economy will be below the government expectations, thus continuing relaying on expatriates for years ahead.

Vitiligo is one of the complex diseases that has existed during the entire history of humanity and so far we have not fully understood it, serval theories have been proposed most of them suggest strong linkage between deficiencies in certain genes and the disease, refereeing that the disease has strong genetic factor that plays a rule in triggering the disease, and the epidemiology studies confirms also that theory due to higher incidence in people who have siblings but this theory does not fully unlocks the full causes of the disease as it seems also to have strong environmental triggers. One of the biggest problem about the disease and the QoL is not the disease lifestyle itself but rather the social and psychological effects of the disease and the social acceptance impact, because it affects the appearance of its patients and thus affects their social acceptance leading to some serious psychological and depressive disorders, and that effects differs from society to another and by different categories, that’s why psychological follow up and treatment is critical part of the overall treatment. In this review, we overview recent updates in epidemiology, pathophysiology and treatment of vitiligo.

The article pays attention to the fact that in scientific literature practice-oriented approaches to education are generally restricted to the research of only practice-oriented training and to the reflection of different aspects of development of professional knowledge, skills, experience and competences. At the same time gaining knowledge, skills and experience doesn’t guarantee the impeccable formation of person`s professional and moral sphere as there are a lot of fixed data of serious qualified crimes committing by people with higher education. On the basis of the analysis of scientific approaches to the term «education» and the research of normative legal acts in the sphere of education the author differs the concept of terms «professional training» and «professional education» and determines that professional training is just a part of professional education which has wider and higher goals that can be achieved through the strong linkage of professional training and professional upbringing. Besides, the author describes several levels of legislative background for the realization of practice-oriented higher education in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, defines the concept of the practice-oriented higher education realized in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, determines the place of this type of education in the general conception of staff training in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Abstract A descriptive analysis of 416 documents was performed using bibliometric techniques, in order to gather existing knowledge in circular economy (CE) focusing on waste management (2007–2020). The results of this study indicate that annual scientific production increased 94% in the last five years; highlighting the countries of Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, China, Brazil and India. The conceptual analysis indicates strong linkage between CE and sustainable production, waste management and recycling. Emerging research trends evolved from processes and industry oriented approach (2017), towards waste management, recycling and circular economy (2019) and sustainable development and urban solid waste (2020). Through intellectual analysis, schools of thought were identified, where the most influential authors such as Wang, Ghisellini, Zhang and the European Commission with the greatest connection with other authors stand out. Results found denote the challenge represented by the implementation of comprehensive policies in CE, in addition to measure its contribution to sustainable development. The above, being a key alternative for green recovery in response to current COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to explore the influence of the polymorphism in the 20 intron region of the Sansui duck ATP2A2 gene on the eggshell quality, this study used Primer Premier 5 software to design and synthesize a pair of primers in the 20 intron region, two-way direct sequencing and sequence alignment to mine SNPs Sites, SPSS 18.0 software was used to analyze the relationship between SNP sites and eggshell quality of Sansui duck. Results Three SNP sites were found in the 20 intron region of the ATP2A2 gene: g.40874 T>C, g.40920 G>A and g.40990 T=C, all of which were moderately polymorphic, at the site g.40874 T >C and g.40920 G>A both deviated significantly from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P>0.05), position g.40990 T=C accords with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P<0.05), and position g.40874 T>C There is a strong linkage disequilibrium between g.40990 T=C; a total of 4 haplotypes and 9 double types were detected at 3 SNP loci; the results of association analysis show that g.40874 T>C mutation has an effect on eggshell strength The eggshell strength of CC genotype was significantly higher than that of TC and TT genotypes (P<0.05), and the eggshell weight of CC genotype was significantly higher than that of TC genotype (P<0.05), g. The 40990 T=C mutation has a significant effect on the eggshell strength, and the eggshell strength of the TC genotype is significantly higher than that of the TT genotype (P<0.05). In summary, the g.40874 T>C and g.40990 T=C found in the 20th intron region of the Sansui duck ATP2A2 gene may be the marker sites that affect the quality of the eggshell.

AbstractPrion disease is a fatal neurodegenerative disease with a broad host range in humans and animals. It is caused by proteinase K-resistant prion protein (PrPres). In previous studies, a heterogeneous infection in Cervidae and Caprinae was reported. Chronic wasting disease (CWD) has been frequently reported as the only prion disease in Korea that occurs in livestock. Thus, there is a possibility of transmission of CWD to Korean native black goats. However, PrPres has not been investigated thus far in Korean native black goats. We found strong linkage disequilibrium between c.126G>A and c.414T>C (r2 = 1) and between c.718C>T and c.126G>A (r2 = 0.638). In addition, the haplotype GTGTAAAC (representing codons 42, 102, 127, 138, 143, 146, 218 and 240) showed the highest frequency with 45.1%. Among 41 Korean native black goats, 20 animals (48.78%) were homozygous for the susceptible haplotypes (histidine at codon 143, asparagine at codon 146 and arginine at codon 154). Interestingly, we did not detect PrPres bands in any of the tested animals, including the 20 animals carrying potential scrapie susceptible haplotypes.

Advertisement, being one of the most effective marketing tools, induces customers to purchase their products and encourages them to behave in a certain way. This study focused on the relationship between demographic and cultural values of young Saudi Arabians. Primary data was collected from a total of 284 respondents from the Riyadh region using an online survey. The survey questionnaire was adopted from previous relevant studies and modified according to the objectives of the understudy by considering the cultural values apparent to Saudi citizens. The corresponding sub-items were also designed on a 5-point Likert scale. Based on the theoretical aspects presented in the literature, the hypotheses were formulated to find the substantial contributions of the sample data. The correlation using SPSS revealed that gender and marital status had no relation to the segmentation of advertisements, whereas other vital cultural factors such as religion, language, manners and customs, social institutions, aesthetics, and traditions demonstrated a strong linkage with segmenting firms’ advertisements. The study revealed important implications for international product advertisers and market communicators. It also provided several directions for future researchers.

AbstractHost genetic factors can confer resistance against malaria, raising the question of whether this has led to evolutionary adaptation of parasite populations. In this study we investigated the correlation between host and parasite genetic variation in 4,171 Gambian and Kenya children ascertained with severe malaria due to Plasmodium falciparum. We identified a strong association between sickle haemoglobin (HbS) in the host and variation in three regions of the parasite genome, including nonsynonymous variants in the acyl-CoA synthetase family member PfACS8 on chromosome 2, in a second region of chromosome 2, and in a region containing structural variation on chromosome 11. The HbS-associated parasite alleles are in strong linkage disequilibrium and have frequencies which covary with the frequency of HbS across populations, in particular being much more common in Africa than other parts of the world. The estimated protective effect of HbS against severe malaria, as determined by comparison of cases with population controls, varies greatly according to the parasite genotype at these three loci. These findings open up a new avenue of enquiry into the biological and epidemiological significance of the HbS-associated polymorphisms in the parasite genome, and the evolutionary forces that have led to their high frequency and strong linkage disequilibrium in African P. falciparum populations.
