It has been designed the water surface level detection system based on the ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and the ESP8266-12E module through telegram and buzzer communication media.. The research aims to design a water surface-level detection system by using ultrasonic sensors and the ESP8266- 12E module. The tools and materials used during the design are: Ultrasonic sensors HC-SR04, module ESP8266-12E, and buzzer as an output to sound the alarm. The ultrasonic HC-SR04 sensor will detect the water surface level, the detection data will be sent to the ESP8266-12E module, then the system will send the information in the form of a message through telegram and buzzer application. The messages delivered are several stages including standby, alert, and danger. The methods used in this design are planning, study libraries, collection of tools and materials, hardware plan, and program creation on the software. The final result is a system capable of detecting water surface level based on the ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 and the ESP8266-12E module through telegram and buzzer communication media. The success rate of this tool system at several stages among others at a standby of 77%, at a level of alert of 70%, and the level of success at the hazard level is 83%.

Prototype system for measuring the level of water debit on weir by using an Arduino mega 2560 based ultrasonic sensor. It is created for detecting flood system that works automatically by finding out the water level on the weir’s surface. This water surface level monitoring system is conducted by implementing an Arduino mega 2560 based ultrasonic system, which will compute the water level created at certain levels. This prototype device for measuring the water level on weir by using Arduino mega 2560 based ultrasonic sensor consists of Arduino Mega 2560, HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor, 16 X 2 LCD, and Buzzer. Arduino serves to determine the sensor value and provides the output accordingly with the sensor measurement. HC-SR04 Sensor functions to read the water level from a distance of 2 cm to 300 cm, this water level would be displayed on the LCD and the sound from Buzzer is going to sound the alarm at an altitude of 16 cm to 45 cm.

Amorpha fruticosa L. is a kenophyte of North American origin, ergaziophyte. Currently, this species naturalized over large areas and became the background on the coast waters of the Dnieper reservoirs of hydropower stations. It is necessary to clarify the reasons for the distribution of A. fruticosa populations in different parts of the Middle Dnieper coast under conditions of artificial regulation of its water yield. It has been proven that the high buoyancy of A. fruticosa fruits provides the possibility of its active dispersal along river beds in a natural way under conditions of fluctuations in the level of surface water yield right in spring floods. The main and determining factor in the active dissemination of the species on the coast of the Kanev and Kremenchug reservoirs is the frequent variability of the maximum water surface level. The narrow altitudinal range of distribution of this species on the coast in the lower parts, and accordingly, wider in the upper parts of the reservoirs is determined by the corresponding indicators of water level differences. The possibility of artificial regulation of the water surface level with knowledge of the characteristics of hydrochory of this invasive species makes it possible to influence its distribution in the territory near the reservoirs.

The obstacle avoidance system is an important part of the intelligent inspection robot. According to the special environmental requirements for substation inspection robot, the inspection robot obstacle avoidance detection system was designed. The system takes MCU as the controller core, selects many sets of ultrasonic sensors to detect the obstacle information around the robot, designs the transmitting and receiving circuit of the ultrasonic signal, and completes the system software program. In consideration of the substations effect of EMI to the electronic equipments, when designing circuit, using a large of filter circuit, improve systems anti-interference performance, realize real-time and veracity of measurement. Using on substation shows that the system run steadily, have high measurement precision, its important for improving the robot using on substation.

The paper discusses a mobile robot localization. Due to cost and simplicity of signal processing, the ultrasonic sensors are very suitable for this application. However, their nonlinear characteristics requires thorough calibrating procedure in order to achieve reliable readings from the obstacles around the robot. Here we describe SMR400 ultrasonic sensor and its calibration procedure. The suggested calibration procedure was tested through a number of experiments, and the results are presented in this paper. .

The intruder detection system is targeted for the private areas, restricted areas and for the domestic home applications to notify the entrance of the intruder or any person to the specified areas. The intruder detection system eliminates the theft and entrance of the persons to the restricted areas by notifying the owner or the gardener through the registered application when the system detects an intruder in the locality. In this work an IoT based intruder detection system named Smart-IDS is proposed to avoid the entrance of the person without any special workforce for the target location. The proposed Smart-IDS detects the intruder using the Node MCU and Ultrasonic sensor and the cloud based Blynk application is employed to send the alert notification to the user. The experiments with the proposed Smart-IDS has performed more efficiently.

Water level data sets acquired by ultrasonic sensors in stream-scale channels exhibit relatively large numbers of outliers that are off the measurement range between the ultrasonic sensor and water surface, as well as data dispersion of approximately 2 cm due to random errors such as water waves. Therefore, this study develops a data processing algorithm for outlier removal and smoothing for water level data measured by ultrasonic sensors to consider these characteristics. The outlier removal process includes an initial cutoff process to remove outliers out of the measurement range and an outlier detection process using modified Z-scores based on the median absolute deviation (MAD) of a robust estimator. In addition, an exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) method is applied to smooth the processed data. Sensitivity analyses are performed for factors that are subjectively set by the user, including the window size for the MAD outlier detection stage, the rejection criterion for the modified Z-score outlier removal stage, and the smoothing constant for the EWMA smoothing stage, based on four different water level data sets acquired by ultrasonic sensors in stream-scale experiments.
