The paper empirically examines the impact of corporate governance on the cash holding of the firms. The components of corporate governance are measured by board size, board meeting, audit committee members, directors remuneration and non executive directors and the cash holding is measured with the log of average cash and size is taken as control variable for the control effect on the dependent variables. Moreover, correlation and panel regression model were employed to examine the relationship between the corporate governance and cash holding. Empirical data was collected from 96 firms over the period of 2004-05 to 2013-14. The results show that directors remuneration and the number of audit committee members positively influence the cash holding and the board size also positively influences the cash holding whereas, the non executive directors and the board meetings do not play any role in enhancing the cash holding.

Based on a prediction method of the scattered sound pressure, an active control system was proposed in previous work for the three-dimension scattered radiation, where all the relevant simulations and experiments were implemented in three-dimensional free sound field. However, for practical applications, such as the anti-eavesdropping system or the stealth system for submarines, the sound field conditions are usually complex, and the most common case is the one with reflecting surface. It is questionable whether the previous control system is still effective in non-free sound field, or what improvements should be operated to ensure the control effect. In this article, based on the mirror image principle, two methods of calculating the control source strengths are proposed for the scattered radiation control, and numerical simulations with one-channel and multi-channel system are implemented to detect the corresponding control effect. It is seen that the local active control for the scattered radiation is still effective, and the reduction of the sound pressure level as well as the control area is extended with the increasement of the error sensors and control sources.

We have reported that NH4NO3 (AN, 8 mM, pH 4.2), applied as simulated spray droplets, enhanced penetration of 14C-NAA through isolated leaf and fruit cuticles. One explanation for this response is that AN depresses NAA (pKa= 4.2) dissociation, increasing the nondissociated moiety, which penetrates more readily than the anion (NAA'). Direct measurement of AN (concn. 0-800 mM) effect on NAA (215 μM) dissociation as indexed by change in solution pH revealed no significant effect, with a pH change from 4.19 to 4.05. This change is not sufficient to account for the observed enhancement. When 14C-NAA, buffered (20 mM sodium citrate) at pH 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 6.2, was partitioned against chloroform, there was a marked increase in NAA partitioning into chloroform as pH was decreased. AN (8 mM) did not alter this partition behavior, also indicating no effect on NAA dissociation. However, in cuticle penetration studies, using a finite dose system with 14C-NAA buffered at pH 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 6.2, and in the presence and absence of 8 mM AN, there was no marked or consistent pH or AN (-70 to + 232 % of no AN control) effect on penetration as indexed by initial slope (4-12 h) or penetration after 120 h. The possible effects of AN and buffer on penetration of 14C-NAA from the droplet deposit will be discussed.

Background: In recent years, the emergence of stimuli-responsive nanoparticles makes drug delivery more efficient. As an intelligent and effective targeted delivery platform, it can reduce the side effects generated during drug transportation while enhancing the treatment efficacy. The stimuli-responsive nanoparticles can respond to different stimuli at corresponding times and locations to deliver and release their drugs and associated therapeutic effects. Objective: This review aims to inform researchers on the latest advances in the application of dual-stimuli responsive nanoparticles in precise drug delivery, with special attention to their design, drug release properties, and therapeutic effects. Syntheses of nanoparticles with simultaneous or sequential responses to two or more stimuli (pH-redox, pH-light, redoxlight, temperature-magnetic, pH-redox-temperature, redox-enzyme-light, etc.) and the applications of such responsivity properties for drugs control and release have become a hot topic of recent research. Methods: A database of relevant information for the production of this review was sourced, screened and analyzed from Pubmed, Web of Science, SciFinder by searching for the following keywords: “dual-stimuli responsive”, “controlled release”, “cancer therapy”, “synergistic treatment”. Results: Notably, the nanoparticles with dual-stimuli responsive function have an excellent control effect on drug delivery and release, playing a crucial part in the treatment of tumors. They can improve the encapsulation and delivery efficiency of hydrophobic chemotherapy drugs, combine chemo-photothermal therapies, apply imaging function in the diagnosis of tumors and even conduct multi-drugs delivery to overcome multi-drugs resistance (MDR). Conclusion: With the development of smart dual-stimuli responsive nanoparticles, cancer treatment methods will become more diverse and effective. All the stimuli-responsive nanoparticles functionalities exhibited their characteristics individually within the single nanosystem.
