It has sparked interest as well as challenges among academics; the current research will concentrate on acceptance and adoption of IoT in the higher educational institutions of Pakistan. IoT supports educators in environment of learning and can have an impact on how we interact, connect, and work. In this study, we will look at two different aspects. The first one is how to teach students, and secondly how IoT can be used in educational institutions to enhance learning. This study looks at the factors that affect acceptance of IoT and use in an academic setting in Pakistan's higher education institutions. The current research establishes foundation for a comprehensive framework based on trusted technology and social psychology models, such as the Use of Technology 2 and Unified Theory of Acceptance (UTAUT2). The method proposed in this study is network analysis method to observe users' actions in relation to several IoT applications in higher education. An in-depth analysis and consideration of key deliverables which have a major impact on the Internet of Things (IoT) adoption in Pakistani educational institutions of higher level, revealed that only a few applications are heavily used in comparison to all other applications. This research lays the groundwork for developed countries to grow adoption and IoT technologies use in higher education, which will support both students and faculty.

This chapter describes proposals for organizing university programs on the internet of things (IoT) and cyber-physical systems. The final goal is to provide a structure for a basic educational course for the internet of things and related areas. This base (template) could be used both for direct training and for building other courses, including those that are more deeply specialized in selected areas. For related areas, the authors see, for example, machine-to-machine communications and data-driven cities (smart cities) development. Obviously, the internet of things skills are in high demand nowadays, and, of course, IoT models, architectures, as well as appropriate data proceedings elements should be presented in the university courses. The purpose of the described educational course is to cover information and communication technologies used in the internet of things systems and related areas. Also, the authors discuss big data and AI issues for IoT courses and highlight the importance of data engineering.

This chapter reviews the internet of things (IoT) as a key component of a smart city and how it is applied to consumers' daily lives and business. The IoT is a part of information and communication technology (ICT) and is considered a powerful means to improve consumers' quality of life. The “thing” could be any object which has internet capability, such as wearable devices and smart TVs/phones/speakers. Several studies have identified driving factors that have led consumers to adopting them, but also concerns of consumers' resistance to IoT devices. The three major fields of application of IoT technologies were selected to review the role of the IoT in consumers' daily lives and business.

<p class="0abstract">The purpose of this research were to synthesize and to evaluate the element of student relationship management system using the internet of things to collect digital footprint for higher education institutions. The results of the research showed that the student relationship management system using the internet of things had five elements which were 1)identify module, 2)alert module, 3)tracking module, 4)SRM module and 5)analytic module. The evaluation result of the student relationship management system using the internet of things to collect digital footprint for higher education institutions had the overall appropriateness at very much level and the overall appropriateness of usability result at very much level.</p>

Disasters pose a real threat to the lives and property of citizens; therefore, it is necessary to reduce their impact to the minimum possible. In order to achieve this goal, a framework for enhancing the current disaster management system was proposed, called the smart disaster management system. The smart aspect of this system is due to the application of the principles of information and communication technology, especially the Internet of Things. All participants and activities of the proposed system were clarified by preparing a conceptual design by using The Unified Modeling Language diagrams. This effort was made to overcome the lack of citizens’ readiness towards the use of information and communication technology as well as increase their readiness towards disasters. This study aims to develop conceptual design that can facilitate in development of smart management system for flooding disaster. This will assist in the design process of the Internet of Things systems in this regard.
