Tax is an obligation that must be paid by the company, the greater the income the company the greater the tax due. Management expects the tax payment detail to allow management to do the engineering to minimize the income tax burden. This study aims to examine the effects of changes in income tax rates that Law. 36 of 2008 on Income Tax on discretionary accrual due to a decrease in income tax rates between 2009 and the Agency for the year 2010 is the year 2009 by 28% and in 2010 dropped to 25%. In addition, this study also aims to determine the impact of tax and non tax incentives as well as the percentage of shares traded on the Stock Exchange of earnings management behavior. Sample of this study is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, which has published its financial statements from 2009-2010. Methods of analysis in this study using multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of independent variables earnings pressure, debt level, earningsbath, firm size, managerial ownership and the percentage of shares) against the dependent variable (discretionary accruals) and using independent sample t-test for the different test equipment. independent sample t-test was used to examine differences in the level of discretionary accruals between 2009 and 2010 after a decline in income tax rates. The results showed that before and after the reduction in tax rates, the management was not convicted of discretionary accruals to make savings income. This suggests that management in Indonesia did not take action to make opportunistic earnings management in order to decrease the tax rate Agency 2010. From the regression resultsof tax incentives and the percentage of shares traded on the Stock Exchange a significant effect on discretionary accruals, non-tax incentives only to have a significant earnings pressure on discretionary accruals, while the level of debt, earnings bath, firm size and managerial ownership has no significant effect on discretionary accruals.

This study aims to test the level of earning management before and after the income tax rate reduction for 2008 fiscal year. The samples were 21 banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange, which has provides loans to SMEs. The analysis using paired samplest-test to test these differences of earning management before and after the income tax rates changes. The results showed that earning management in the high tax rate was higher than in the lower tax rate. This shows that management has responded the income tax rates changes to take the opportunity. <p><em>The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of GCG variables, firm size, and leverage on earnings management. The sample used is 35 public listed property and real estatecompanies in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2015 until 2017. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. This study uses multiple regression. The results of the analysis showed that managerial ownership does not have a negative effect on earnings management but oppositely, it has a positive effect on earnings management, while company size does not have any effect on earning management.</em><em> </em></p>

This study aims to determine the effect of tax planning, managerial ownership and company size on earnings management in the manufacturing companies of the automotive sub sector and components listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Sampling in this study uses purposive sampling, namely the determination of samples based on certain criteria, the sample used is 4 (four) automotive sub sector manufacturing companies and components that have met the specified criteria. The results of this study indicate that partially tax planning has a positive and not significant effect on earnings management while managerial ownership and company size have a positive and significant effect on earnings management. However, simultaneous tax planning, managerial ownership and firm size have a positive and significant effect on earnings management. From the results of this study, researchers provide some suggestions for further research to get better results because the results obtained by researchers are still lacking and further research needs to be done.

ABSTRACT This reseach amied at knowing the influence of audit quality, propotion of independent commissioner, audit committe, firm size, managerial ownership and leverage. It used purposive sampling technique or choosing samples based on certain criteria. The sample of this research was 25 companies of banking industry in indonesia stock exchange period 2008-2012. Descriptive analysis, classical test, as well as multiple linear regression by examining the hypothesis using SPSS 20.0 were used to analyzed the data. The result shows that (1) all independent variables simultaneously hasinfluence on earnings management; (2) however partially audit committee, audit quality, managerial ownership and leverage do not affect significantly to earnings management; (3) only firm size and independent commissioner that affect significantly to earning management. This research aims to find out and analyze the impact of audit committee financial expertise, audit quality that is proxied by external audit firm size, and profitability on real earnings management. The method used in this research was purposive sampling with a total sample of 59 manufacturing companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). The type of data used was secondary data acquired through financial statements extracted from www.idx.co.id. Data analysis methods used in this research were classical assumption analysis, descriptive statistical test, f test, t test, and the test of determination coefficient. T test was used to test this study’s hypothesis. Final result of the study showed that audit committee financial expertise and audit quality proxied by external audit firm size do not have any significant effect on real earnings management, while profitability has been shown to have a positive effect on real earnings management.

The objectives of the research is to empirically examine the influence of corporate governance, firm’s size, and firm’s leverage to earnings management practice. Corporate governance is proxied by managerial ownership, institutional ownership, sense of independent of director, and size of board director. Firm’s size is measured with logarithm of total assets. The firm’s leverage is proxied by total debt to total assets ratio. To detect earnings management this research using discretionary accruals (managed accruals) that measured with modified Jones models. The sample used in this research is manufacture companies that implement corporate governance and registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2005 until 2008. The method of analysis of this research used multi regression. Result of this research shows that: (1) Simultaneously of institutional ownership, managerial ownership, presence of independent of director, size of director, size, and leverage have significant influence to earnings management. (2) Managerial ownership had not influence earnings management. (3) Institutional ownership had not influence earnings management. (4) Presence of independent of director had negatively influence earnings management. (5) Size of director had negatively influence earnings management. (6) Size had positively influence earnings management. (7) Leverage had negatively influence earnings management

The aim of this research is to provide empirical evidence about the effect of profitability, leverage, firm size, audit quality, firm age, board of commissioner, board of directors, audit comittee, and managerial ownership on earnings management. Population of this research are non-financial companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2012-2016. The samples of this study are 310 data using purposive sampling method. This research uses multiple regression method for data analysis. The result of this research shows that board of commissioner have effect on earnings management but , leverage, firm size, audit quality, firm age, board of directors, audit comittee, and managerial ownership do not have effect on earnings management.

The issue of the IFRSadoption as a standard that can lead to a reduction of earnings management. The research aimed to give empirical evidence concerning the impact of the IFRS adoption on earnings management, and the test of the difference level of earnings management between before and after the IFRS adoption. The research scope focused on the implementation of IFRS adoption particularly in PSAK No. 50 and PSAK No. 55 (revised 2006) concerningfinancial instruments. The research objects were the banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange for 4 years (2008-2011), i.e. as many as 23 banks. Samples were taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The main variables in this research are IFRS and earnings management,and includes several control variable, among others are, size, financial leverage, market to book value and institutional investors. The data were analyzed usingmultiple regression analysis and different t-test analysis. The research result indicates that the IFRS adoption has not effect the decreaseon the earnings management.Among the four control variables, the variable institutional investor is found not to have theeffect on earnings management, whereas the other three variables haveeffect.The result of the different t-test analysis also indicates that statistically there is not significant difference on the level of the earnings management between before and after IFRS adoption. Thus, based on this study concluded that the adoption of IFRS still allow for the occurrence of earnings management.

Financial reports are a medium for companies to convey information about the accountability of management to the needs of external parties. Earnings management is a deliberate process of taking steps within the limits of general accounting principles both inside and outside the limits. This study aims to analyze the influence of good corporate governance consisting of independent board of directors, managerial ownership and institutional ownership on earnings management by using modified jones models with proxy discretionary accruals. The sample used was a banking company listing in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2013-2017 period using purposive sampling with a sample of 22 companies and analyzed by multiple regression. The results of this study state that partially that the independent board of directors affects earnings management in a positive direction, while managerial ownership and institutional ownership do not affect earnings management. Simultaneously the board of commissioners, independent board of directors, managerial ownership and institutional ownership have no significant effect on earnings management.
