Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) become learning that can empower pupils' cognitive learning achievement. The research objective was to enhance pupils' cognitive learning achievement (CLA) using the CTL approach. The classroom action research by Kemmis and McTaggart was used in this research. The subjects of this study were pupils of grade IV SDK Doreng, Doreng District, Sikka Regency. Participant research was ten pupils' (three boys, seven girls). Ten multiple-choice tests were used for the evaluation of each cycle. Analysis of data was quantitatively and percentage—five categories for student CLA. The success indicator is based on a score of 65 and classical completeness of 85%. The results showed that the activity of pupils and teachers in the first cycle was low. This finding was followed by not achieving completeness, where only 70% of pupils completed. The second cycle findings inform that pupils' and teacher activities were excellent, followed by classical completeness, reaching 100%. This action research concludes that CTL can improve pupils' CLA. This research recommends using CTL in the future to enhance pupils' CLA.

Abstract. This study aims to determine the improvement of children's poetry reading skills with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in Class V Students of SDN 2 Nanggulan, District of Cawas, Klaten Regency, Semester I, Academic Year 2018/2019. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in the fifth grade of Nanggulan Elementary School 2 in Cawas District, Klaten Regency with a total of 17 students, consisting of 3 male students and 14 female students. This classroom action research is carried out three cycles in a continuous manner. Each cycle is carried out by planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting to determine the effectiveness of the action. Based on the analysis, it can be
concluded as follows: First, based on observations of teacher performance the results of the average score of teacher performance have increased from learning Cycle I for 1.3 Cycle II learning to 2.3, and at Cycle III 2.7. With the criteria of a sufficient limit score is a score of 2 and a score of 3 is good; Second, based on student activity data for three cycles, the average score about student activity experienced an increase from Cycle I learning at 1.2 learning Cycle II to 2.0 and in Cycle III learning to 2.8; Third, based on the results of the assessment of
reading children's poetry with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, the average score of the test results and assignments has increased from Cycle I learning to 70.89 Cycle II learning to 75.59 and Cycle III learning to 79.71 . Increasing the percentage of classical learning completeness by learning cycle I was 41.18%, learning Cycle II became 58.82%, and learning in Cycle III reached 82.35%. Thus through the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach the ability to read children's poetry in Class V students of SD Negeri 2 Nanggulan, District of Cawas, Klaten Regency, in the first semester of school year 2018/2019 can increase.

The purpose of this research is to enhance learning motivation and learning achievement of character education in disciplinary values in grade III students of SDN 2 Japan, Dawe, Kudus 2014/2015 Academic Year. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study are 25 of Students. Data are obtained using interviews, documentation and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive. The results of the classroom action
research show that; 1) Application of thematic learning with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach can appropriately increase motivation and learning achievement of character education in the discipline value of students in Elementary School 2 Jepang, Dawe sub-district, Kudus 2014/2015 Academic Year. Based on the results of the distribution of questionnaires on students' learning motivation, it was found that the success target of cycle I (76%) increased in cycle II to (96). 2) The advantage of thematic learning with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach is that learning becomes more meaningful because students are shown the material concepts with the real world experienced in everyday life. The weaknesses students are hesitant in expressing their opinions.

The method used in this research was action research applied in two cycles. Then the data was collected by using multiple choice tests (pre-test and post-test). The results that the TGT method can be improved vocabulary students, it was showed from the table score that increased from the mean score of pre-test, post-test cycle 1 and post-test cycle 2. The mean score of pre-test was 55.94 , the mean score of the pre-test cycle was 74.37 and the mean score of the post-test cycle 2 80.31.it is assumed that the TGT method is effective to improve vocabulary students and then the use of the TGT technique makes students more motivated. Keywords: Vocabulary, TGT (Teams Games Tournament), CAR

The purpose of this research is revising the way of teaching for making student understand about mathematical ratio through Contextual Teaching and Learning by the use of Hands on Activity. The type of this research is a classroom action research with two cycles, the first cycle consists of four meetings and two meetings of the second cycle. Research’s subject is all students class VII-D SMPN 16 Malang, as many as 37 students, consist of 17 men and 20 women. The research activities comprise of learning, class discussions, presentations, and final test.. The data were collected from the result of cyclic final test, the assignment result of students on answering cyclic final test, the result observation about teacher and students activities, interview and field notes. The result indicate that cycle I learning achievement is 80 percent and there are 12 students who made mistakes on the material concept of find a quantity if ratio is known. In the second cycle the percentage of learning achievement is 89,18 percent of the number of students in the classroom and there are 13,88 percent of students still do not understand the material find quantity if ratio is known. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach assisted by hands on activity can make students in grade VII-D SMPN 16 Malang understanding about topics of ratio.

Hence, teachers are required to find and get someway which can reform learning motivation of students. One alternative ways that can be used is by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. This research is a PTK with two cycles, that each cycle has four stages. From the analysis results, it was found that the students' learning outcomes have been classically improved from first to the second cycle. In the first cycle the percentage of students' learning success reached 58.62%. At the same time, in the second cycle, it increased up to 86.20%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach can upgrade the mathematics learning achievement of student, and can be used as an alternative way in learning mathematics.
