Abstract. This study aims to determine the improvement of children's poetry reading skills with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in Class V Students of SDN 2 Nanggulan, District of Cawas, Klaten Regency, Semester I, Academic Year 2018/2019. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in the fifth grade of Nanggulan Elementary School 2 in Cawas District, Klaten Regency with a total of 17 students, consisting of 3 male students and 14 female students. This classroom action research is carried out three cycles in a continuous manner. Each cycle is carried out by planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting to determine the effectiveness of the action. Based on the analysis, it can be
concluded as follows: First, based on observations of teacher performance the results of the average score of teacher performance have increased from learning Cycle I for 1.3 Cycle II learning to 2.3, and at Cycle III 2.7. With the criteria of a sufficient limit score is a score of 2 and a score of 3 is good; Second, based on student activity data for three cycles, the average score about student activity experienced an increase from Cycle I learning at 1.2 learning Cycle II to 2.0 and in Cycle III learning to 2.8; Third, based on the results of the assessment of
reading children's poetry with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, the average score of the test results and assignments has increased from Cycle I learning to 70.89 Cycle II learning to 75.59 and Cycle III learning to 79.71 . Increasing the percentage of classical learning completeness by learning cycle I was 41.18%, learning Cycle II became 58.82%, and learning in Cycle III reached 82.35%. Thus through the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach the ability to read children's poetry in Class V students of SD Negeri 2 Nanggulan, District of Cawas, Klaten Regency, in the first semester of school year 2018/2019 can increase.

This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims to know theimplementation of learning and improve student learning outcomes by using theContextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model in the subjects of NaturalSciences (IPA) with light matter and its properties in Class V SD Santo Catholic SantoIgnatius MedanLesson 2016-2017.Subjects in this study were the students of grade VSD Santo Catholic. Ignatius Medan Lessons Year 2016-2017 which amounted to 40people, consisting of 20 female students and 18 male students. The object of thisresearch is Classroom Action Research (PTK) by applying two cycles that are Cycle Iand Cycle II which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Theresults of this study indicate an increase in student learning outcomes in the subjects ofNatural Science (IPA) light material and the nature of class V SD Santo Catholic SantoIgnatius Medan. This is evident from the results of research conducted on the pretest ofstudents who got the complete value of 4 people or 10% while 36 students who did notcomplete or 90%. Then continued the research on the first cycle of students who got thecomplete value of 18 students or 45% while the students who did not complete as manyas 22 students or 55%, then there is an increase in the first cycle compared to thepreteSanto However, it has not met the completeness category that has been specified. Then proceeded on the second cycle of students who got a total score of 34 students or85% while students who are not complete as many as 6 students or 15%, then there is anincrease in cycle II compared to cycle I and has fulfilled the specified completeness.Furthermore, teacher activity on observation cycle I get an average of 58% and in cycleII has increased to 90%. While the activity of students on the learning process obtainedan average of 58% and in cycle II has increased to 81, 3%. Thus, it is concluded that byusing Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on Natural Sciencesubject (IPA) light material and its properties in class V SD Santo Ignatius Medan canimprove student learning outcomes. Therefore it is suggested for subsequent learning touse problem-based learning strategies so that student learning outcomes can increase.

The problem in this study is the lack of student activity because of the lack of conformity to the learning model with the science learning process, causing a lack of student activity in science learning. This research is to increase the activity of class IIIB students in Pekanbaru. Elementary School in science learning by applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. This study uses classroom action research. The data in this study are quantitative. This can be seen from the percentage of student activity in the initial visual observations on student activities paying attention to the teacher with a 42.8% increase. In the activity of observing the experiment with an increase of 86.1%. In oral activities on the activity of issuing opinions with a 66.6% increase. In students, activities ask with an increase of 19.4%. On listening activities, when listening to teachers with an increase of 42.88%. On the activity of hearing the results of group discussions with an increase of 80.5%. In writing activities, the activity of writing experimental results with an increase of 50%. In the activity of evaluating with an increase of 49.91%. Drawing activity with 41.6% increase. In the metric activity, the activity of choosing tools and materials with a 75% increase. The activity carried out experiments with an increase of 72.2%. From the explanation above that by applying the Contextual Teaching and learning model can increase the activity of students in science learning students of class IIIB SD Negeri 191 Pekanbaru.

Contextual teaching and learning (CTL) become learning that can empower pupils' cognitive learning achievement. The research objective was to enhance pupils' cognitive learning achievement (CLA) using the CTL approach. The classroom action research by Kemmis and McTaggart was used in this research. The subjects of this study were pupils of grade IV SDK Doreng, Doreng District, Sikka Regency. Participant research was ten pupils' (three boys, seven girls). Ten multiple-choice tests were used for the evaluation of each cycle. Analysis of data was quantitatively and percentage—five categories for student CLA. The success indicator is based on a score of 65 and classical completeness of 85%. The results showed that the activity of pupils and teachers in the first cycle was low. This finding was followed by not achieving completeness, where only 70% of pupils completed. The second cycle findings inform that pupils' and teacher activities were excellent, followed by classical completeness, reaching 100%. This action research concludes that CTL can improve pupils' CLA. This research recommends using CTL in the future to enhance pupils' CLA.

This study aims todevelop alearning module foraddition and subtraction ofintegersusing Johnson’s CTL approach with some necessary adjustments. The development modelused inthis studywas designed based onPlompwhodivided itinto fivephases. However, the development design ofthis module only adopted four phases. The research instrumentpreparedin this studyconsistedof; (1) the questionnaire for the expertsandpractitioners, (2) the student questionnaire, (3) observationsheetsand questionnaires, (4) copies of the test. The subjectsof thisresearchwere thestudents of class IVBin SDN Kotalama 1. The finding showed that it met thecriteria forvalidity, practicality, andeffectiveness. The percentage of validity reached 90, 46%, while the percentageof the students who succeeded in the daily test[G1] was85 %, and the percentage ofstudent responseswas80%. In terms ofpracticality, the average score for validation resultwas 3, 6(high criteria) and the score from the observer’s questionnaire was 3, 2(high criteria). Since both resultsreachedhigh criteria,it could be concludedthat this developed modulewas practical.
