Abstract The present paper discusses what may be responsible for the creative effect that instances of a family of constructions, the go/get all/full [PROPER NOUN(S)] on Y pattern, appear to have on the hearer. For this purpose, a set of possible properties of creative language use will be discussed and checked against the results of a detailed corpus analysis of the pattern and related structures. Both the speaker’s and the hearer’s perspectives will be taken into account.

Abstract The spoken Italian of migrant Italians in New Zealand contains verbal devices which accompany items transferred from English. These “transference markers” (paralinguistic and prosodic features, hesitation phenomena, hedges, synonymous glosses and explicative statements) convey the speaker’s awareness that the marked items are in fact transfers, and invite a response, verbal or otherwise, from the hearer. This exchange of signals is one way in which conversational interactants negotiate a consensus as to what is comprehensible and acceptable linguistic behaviour to both. Migrant bilinguals can thus be shown to be not only creative language users but also more able than is usually thought, to monitor and control the transference process in their speech.

This paper revolved around the idea that sound within light is the primary medium God used to bring all of creation into existence (creatio). The theory is that the harmonic tones embedded within the initial spoken light of Genesis 1:3 are still reverberating within creation today (concursus) and can be used for the benefit of all (providentia). This simply means thatnature is providentially geared to move in a specific direction, according to Gods overall plan for everyones benefit.

Mathematical precision means more than accuracy in computation or procedures; it also means precision in language. The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics states, “Mathematically proficient students try to communicate precisely to others. They try to use clear definitions in discussion with others and in their own reasoning” (CCSSI 2010, p. 7). In our recent experience in working with teachers and students, we have noticed a trend toward teachers using informal, and often creative, language and terminology in an effort to connect with students and make mathematical procedures easier to remember.

Developing creativity in foreign language teaching provides students with the opportunity to effectively build language skills as well as increasing their motivation for learning. Practical examples are given using folklore materials (songs, tales, etc.) in learning Russian, as well as contemporary materials reflecting the culture of Russian speaking countries (films, poems, etc.). As well as increasing their ability in the target foreign language students also acquire factual information (realia) through creative language games. In this paper we describe recent findings in the field and propose possible directions for future research.

Изучение роли знаков языка в объективации в художественном тексте индивидуально-авторского мировосприятия представляет собой актуальное направление современных лингвистических исследований, выполненных в рамках антропоцентризма. В статье рассматривается семантическая многоплановость номинации «любовь» в поэтической речи Е. Евтушенко, обусловленная замыслом, когнитивным образом описываемой автором ситуации, ценностными ориентациями творческой языковой личности The study of the role of language signs in the objectification of an author’s individual worldview in a literary text is a relevant direction of modern linguistic research carried out within the framework of anthropocentrism. The article considers the semantic diversity of the naming unit «love» in the poetic speech of E. Evtushenko due to the idea, the cognitive image of the situation described by the author, and the value orientations of the creative language personality.
