The results of hematological studies to determine the impact of the pathogen of trichurosis of pigs on blood serum biochemical parameters infested animals are presented. We established that trichurises’ parasites in the body of pigs leads to a significant reduction of total protein, albumin and increase of total bilirubin, indirect bilirubin and enzyme activity in blood serum. These data suggest about involvement of liver parenchyma in the pathological process, cardiac muscle and smooth muscles of the intestine.

: In recent years, the development of Assisted Reproductive Technique, the egg and embryo donation changed substantially the role of the uterus in recent years. It provided a higher chance for a pregnancy even in women over 45 years or post-menopause. In fact, the number of aged patients and in peri/post-menopause in pregnancy is nowadays increasing, but it increases obstetrical and neonatal related problems. The human uterus is richly innervated and modified especially during pregnancy and labor, and it is endowed with different sensory, parasympathetic, sympathetic and peptidergic neurofibers. They are differently distributed in uterine fundus, body and cervix, and they are mainly observed in the stroma and around arterial vessel walls in the myometrial and endometrial layers. Many neurotransmitters playing important roles in reproductive physiology are released after stimulation by adrenergic or cholinergic nerve fibers (the so called sympathetic/parasympathetic co-transmission). Immunohistochemical study demonstrated the localization and quantitative distribution of neurofibers in the fundus, the body and cervix of young women of childbearing age. : Adrenergic and cholinergic effects of the autonomous nervous system are the most implicated in the uterine functionality. In such aged women, the Adrenergic and AChE neurofibers distribution in the fundus, body and cervix is progressively reduced by increasing age. Adrenergic and AChE neurotransmitters were closely associated with the uterine arteries and myometrial smooth muscles, and they reduced markedly by ageing. The Adrenergic and AChE neurofibers decreasing has a dramatical and negative impact on uterine physiology, as the reduction of pregnancy chance and uterine growth, and the increase of abortion risk and prematurity.

Abstract Alumina nanoparticles (NPs) are among the most important nanomaterials and are widely used in diverse areas. In this study, we evaluated the bioavailability and toxicity of alumina NPs in mice after oral exposure, compared with traditional alumina powder. Our results indicated that negligible alumina NPs were absorbed post-exposure and alumina NPs did not influence the balance of essential trace elements, including Fe, Cu and Zn. Preliminary toxicological evaluations suggested that alumina NPs were of low toxicity. The body weights were similar among the mice exposed to alumina NPs, alumina powder and 0.9% NaCl aqueous solution. The low toxicity was also indicated by the unchanged serum biochemical parameters. The implications related to the ongoing safety evaluations and applications of alumina NPs are discussed.

The purpose of the work was to identify the features of the pathological process and changes in the main indicators of blood of cattle for the damage by its hairworms B. bovis. Scientific researches were conducted in the conditions of the Ploskivske BPPZ of the Brovarsky District of the Kyiv Region and the Laboratory of Biochemical Research of the National Cancer Institute. To do this, two groups of young cattle, black-and-white breeds up to one year old with 7 heads in each, were created. The experimental group included calves spontaneously invasive with hairworms. The control group was free of animal parasites. For this, they were previously, in two months, subjected to two-fold treatment with Insecticide Tactics (MSD, the Netherlands). Selected animals on the principle of analogues. All calves were in the same sanitary and hygienic conditions and received the same feed according to the diet. It was found that the glucose content in a sick young bovine animal was 6.25% (P < 0.5) higher than that in calf-free calves. There was a probable difference in the level of urea in the blood of animals, where the average level in the infected calves was 12.69% (P < 0.001) higher than in the control animals. The tendency to decrease by 15.31% (P < 0.5) was found in the average values of serum creatinine in calves in sick animals compared with the group of animals that served as controls and were free from parasites. In blood serum, calves infected with hairworms was found a slightly higher (4.25%, P < 0.5) level of total bilirubin than those found free from parasites. Indicators of serum cholesterol levels in blood serum of experimental animals were within normal limits. However, it was significantly lower by 14.71% (P < 0.05) in animals affected by parasites. The albumin-globulin ratio in our studies in invasive calves was 9.8% (P < 0.01) higher than that of control animals. In experimental calves with clinical manifestations of bovycolous, the average index of alkaline phosphatase content was 17.58% (P < 0.5) lower than its mean value in blood serum free of invasion by parasites of animals. Thus, among the biochemical parameters of serum of blood of invasive calves, a probable increase in urea and albumin to globulin ratios and a decrease in cholesterol was observed, indicating a negative effect of the hairworms on the organism of animals.

This study aimed to assess potential feeding effect of camel milk curd mass and its mixes to experimental rat’s blood serum biochemical parameters, enzymatic activity and the peptide toxicity. Fifty healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into five groups (n = 10 each). Each group was fed with camel milk pure curd mass and its mixes for 16 days. At the end of the experiment, rats were sacrificed to collect the samples from the blood serum. Blood serum biochemical parameters total protein, cholesterol, glucose, albumin, triglycerides; the enzymatic activities of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase were determined on the A25 automatic analyser, and peptide toxicity analysed by the reference method. The statistical data have shown no significant differences in body weight gain in all groups. Total protein decreased in group II, IV, and V; however, it increased in group III compared to the control group. Cholesterol grew up in group II and it slightly increased in group V, dropped in groups III and IV compared to group I result. Glucose increased in groups II, III, IV compared to group I; still, group V results show a slight decrease. Albumin decreased in group IV, yet in group V it increased than the group I result. Simultaneously, groups II and III results were changed with less percentage. Triglyceride grew up in groups II, V, and it dropped significantly in groups III, IV compared to the control group. De Ritis ratio of enzymes in groups II, III, and IV fluctuated between 1.31 and 0.98 IU/L; however, group V demonstrated significant data versus group I. Diets peptide toxicity in all groups was lower than control group data. The experimental results indicated that curd mass from camel milk could be used as a pure or with additives and it did not discover the observed side effects.

During the life blood of birds proteins play very important physiological role in the complex metabolic processes. Changes of biochemical composition of chickens blood by experimental infestation reflects the development of pathological and immune processes and demonstrate the stress state of the organism, which allows to objectively assess the impact of various factors on the body of infested chickens. Changes of biochemical parameters in blood were accompanied by hypoproteinemia, hypoalbuminemia, hiperhlobulinemia, dysproteinemia.

In the conditions of industrial poultry farming, the body of hens is constantly exposed to numerous technological stressors, the least studied of which are long-term ones, that can provoke chronic stress. One such technological stressor is an increase in the level of cage equipment, which is used by producers to obtain a larger amount of products from 1 m2 of poultry area. The aim of this work was to study the physiological state of the hen’s body based on the clinical biochemical analysis of their blood serum, depending on the battery cages height. In the conditions of a modern complex for the production of edible eggs in a poultry house with an area of 2 915 m2, 4 groups of hens were formed, each of them was kept on a separate floor-analogue in terms of area and cage equipment. Each floor was equipped with «Big Dutchman» 3-tier battery cages. Battery cages of each floor were separated from each other by a lattice floor so that cages of 1–3 tiers entered up to the 1st floor, 4–6 tiers – up to the 2nd, 7–9 tiers – up to the 3rd, and 10–12 tiers – up to 4th floor of cage equipment. Biochemical parameters and activity of hens blood serum enzymes were determined on a BioChem FC-360 biochemical analyzer. For this, 30 blood samples with a volume of 1.0–1.5 ml were taken from axillary veins of laying hens in each group at the age of 18 weeks (at the beginning of the study) and at 52 weeks. It was found that increasing the layering of cage equipment does not have a negative impact on the hen’s body. So, for keeping hens in cages of multi-tier battery cages located on floors 2–4 (4–12 tiers), the biochemical status and activity of their blood serum enzymes were within the physiological norm. Whereas, for hens kept in battery cages of the a multi-tiered system on the 1st floor there was an increase in glucose levels of 60.5–71.0%, creatinine – by 9.7–12.3%, phosphorus – 82.6–100.0%, was observed a decrease in calcium to phosphorus ratio 46.7–50.0%, which was confirmed by an increase in the activity of alkaline phosphatase by 22.3–27.0%, as well as an increase in the activity of aspartate aminotransferase by 3.2–13.8%, lactate dehydrogenase - by 48.5–65.1% and gamma-glutamyl transferase – by 16.4–20.6%. It has been proven that the main consequences of chronic stress caused by keeping hens in the lower floor cells of the multi-tiered battery cage are reflected in the biochemical parameters of their serum, namely increased glucose, creatinine, enzyme activity and violation of calcium to phosphorus ratio.
