The development of teachers is substantial in acquiring sustainabledevelopment to achieve educational goal. The domain of teacher developmentsuch as pedagogic skills, research skills and classroom management need to beembedded in professional development program, because some factors whetherfacilitating or hindering are potential affecting their development. This studyaimed to identify the internal and external factors affecting senior high schoolEnglish Language teacher development in conducting classroom actionresearch which covered; internal factors (facilitating and hindering) and externalfactors (facilitating and hindering). This study used descriptive survey where theinstruments of collecting data covered questionnaire and interview, with 51teachers of public and private senior high schools in Jakarta. The findings of thisstudy showed that, the dominant factors that facilitated teacher developmentwere teacher colleague motivation, self and family motivation, administration andgovernment motivation. The external factors that facilitated were governmentpolicy, school facilities, sub-district and MGMP atmosphere, other duties,syllabus design requirement, the new curriculum in school, and also schoolsemester and government funding for teacher training. Moreover, hinderingfactors showed factor of school internet access and teacher paired motivation.This research concluded that, the senior high school English language teacherswere facilitated to develop their self in conducting classroom action researchthrough internal and external factors.

In physical education, learning interests are required so that the intentions of this meant learning are well accomplished. This research is aimed to find out the descriptions of students’ interest factors when attending physical education learning at State Senior High School 2 Malang. This study employed a quantitative descriptive research design through survey methods. In order to obtain the research data, a questionnaire was employed as the research instrument with 329 students as the research subjects. After the data were collected, they were analyzed by using a type of descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this research indicated that students’ interest in learning physical education of X class students in State Senior High School 2 Malang both of internal and external factors were classified as high categories. Internal factors influenced students’ interests more during physical education learning compared to external factors. Overall, the activity factor and feeling of pleasure are the most influential factors for their involvement in physical education learning. Understanding that, students and teachers are suggested to look at intervening toward each above factors as an effort to improve their interest in learning.

Abstract:  The imbalance of the distribution of study field-teachers in state senior high schools (SMAN) in the whole area of Banjarmasin city has became the background of this research. This research aimed at: (1) describing the real condition of distribution of study fields-teachers in state senior high schools in Banjarmasin city, (2) describing the analysis of the number of study field-teachers needed for each state senior high school in the whole area of Banjarmasin city, and (3) identifying the number of study field-teachers that needed and exceed the need for each state senior high school in the whole area of Banjarmasin city. This survey research used the technique of interview and documentation in collecting data. The collected data were presented in the forms of tables and graphics and descriptively analyzed. The research result showed that: (1) there are 552 study field-teachers that spread in 13 state senior high schools in the whole area of Banjarmasin city, (2) the number of study field-teachers needed in state senior high schools in the whole area of Banjarmasin city were 593 teachers, and (3) study fields that exceed in the number of teachers needed were in the fields of religion education, civics education, English language, biology, physics, and counseling training. While study fields that lack of the number of teachers were in the fields of Indonesian language, math, chemistry, economy/ accountancy, sociology, geography, history, art, information and communication technique, local content, and foreign/ethnic language. Keywords: distribution, teacher, and state senior high school (SMAN) Banjarmasin.     Abstrak:  Kondisi belum meratanya penyebaran guru mata pelajaran di SMAN se-Kotamadya Banjarmasin mendorong penulis untuk melakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan kondisi rill penyebaran guru mata pelajaran di SMAN se-kota Banjarmasin, (2) mendeskripsikan analisis kebutuhan guru mata pelajaran di SMAN se-kota Banjarmasin, (3) mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan kelebihan guru per mata pelajaran di SMAN se-kota Banjarmasin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey, dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) jumlah guru mata pelajaran yang tersebar di 13 SMAN se-kota Banjarmasin adalah sebanyak 552 orang, (2) Jumlah guru mata pelajaran yang diperlukan di SMAN se-kota Banjarmasin berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan adalah sebanyak 593 orang, (3) Kelebihan jumlah guru SMAN se-kota Banjarmasin terjadi pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama, Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, Bahasa Inggris, Biologi, Fisika, dan Bimbingan Konseling, sedangkan yang masih kekurangan guru terjadi pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, Matematika, Kimia, Ekonomi/Akuntansi, Sosiologi, Geografi, Sejarah, Kesenian, Teknik Informasi dan Komunikasi, Muatan Lokal, dan Bahasa Asing/Daerah. Kata Kunci: penyebaran, guru, dan SMAN Banjarmasin

The aim of the study is to determine students’ learning difficulties at all Public Senior High School (SMA) in Medan. This research is descriptive. The population of the study is all students of class XII totaling 7272 in 21 Public Senior High Schools (SMA Negeri) spread over 15 districts. Samples were taken using Purposive Sampling, they are 524 students of class XII in 7 schools. The techniques for data collection use questionnaires of students’ learning difficulties and interviews. The finding of the study concluded that factors caused the biggest students’ learning difficulties derived from external factors (44%), which consist of laboratories factor (49%), books (45%) and the teacher factor (37%). The percentage of internal factors was (43%), which consist of the talent factor (50%), interest (44%) and motivational factors (36%).

Teaching a language is a scientific process to give knowledge of language to the students in order that the students enable to communicate through in written and spoken form with one another. The students are able to communicate in spoken and written English accurately, fluently and in good manners. Managing a class full of students is one of the biggest challenges faced by teachers. If teachers do not have an effective plan in place, there will not be much opportunity for students to engage in meaningful learning experiences. Thus, teachers will find themselves refereeing instead of teaching. Classroom management is a term used by teachers to describe the process of ensuring that classroom lessons run smoothly despite disruptive behavior by students. Classroom management means teachers’ strategies to create and maintain an orderly learning environment and discipline means teachers’ responses to students’ misbehavior. The goal of classroom management is to create and maintain a positive, productive learning environment, to support and foster a safe classroom community, to assist students to keep task focused, to reduce distraction from learning, to organize and facilitate the flow of learning activities and to help the students to manage them. Abstract: This study aims to analyze students’ perception in implementation of the 2013 curriculum on senior high school English language teaching (ELT) in Bojonegoro in (1) How are the students’ perceptions of the 2013 curriculum in terms of the learning process senior high school English language teaching?(2) How are the students' perceptions on the 2013 curriculum in terms of learning support in senior high school English language teaching?. Results of the analysis of students' perceptions of the 2013 curriculum in English Language Learning and Teaching in terms of the learning process and learning support, they were answered with a questionnaire. The learning process shows the following results: knowledge-perception (81%), exploration (84%), consolidation of learning (81%), the formation of attitudes and behavior (84%), formative assessment (81%), and learning support as follows: teacher quality (97%), student quality (90%) facility quality (68%). It can be concluded that the students' perceptions about the 2013 curriculum were positive, with the percentage strongly agreeing or very suitable between 76% -100%. Keywords: 2013 Curriculum; Students’ Perceptions; English Language Teaching (ELT); Qualitative Research Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi siswa dalam implementasi kurikulum 2013 pada pengajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah menengah atas (ELT) di Bojonegoro dalam (1) Bagaimana persepsi siswa terhadap kurikulum 2013 ditinjau dari proses pembelajaran pada pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMA? (2) Bagaimana persepsi siswa terhadap kurikulum 2013 dalam hal dukungan pembelajaran pada pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMA ?. Hasil analisis persepsi siswa terhadap kurikulum 2013 dalam Pembelajaran dan Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris ditinjau dari proses pembelajaran dan penunjang pembelajaran dijawab dengan angket. Proses pembelajaran menunjukkan hasil sebagai berikut: pengetahuan-persepsi (81%), eksplorasi (84%), konsolidasi pembelajaran (81%), pembentukan sikap dan perilaku (84%), penilaian formatif (81%) dan dukungan pembelajaran sebagai berikut: kualitas guru (97%), kualitas siswa (90%) kualitas fasilitas (68%). The purpose of this study was to establish the challenges Ghanaian students face in learning English language pronunciation. The study employed a qualitative approach through administering a recording test on the learners and a questionnaire that required teachers to write their views and ideas regarding the problem under investigation. The study collected data from 50 randomly selected students out of a total number of 300 from the final year classes of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School and 25 out of 45 teachers of English from the languages department. The study found that a large number of the learners mispronounced selected vowels and consonants, thus confirming the reality that pronunciation problem persisting in Ghanaian secondary schools. The problem of poor pronunciation was found to be related to the teaching and learning strategies employed in teaching pronunciation, unskilled teachers and the influence of mother tongues. The study recommends that teacher trainees in English language from institutions of higher learning should be exposed to the appropriate strategies of teaching good pronunciation. Furthermore, regular in-service training should be organized for the teachers of English in senior high schools to equip them with the current approaches to teaching pronunciation. Lastly, stakeholders of education in the country should provide well-resourced language laboratories for senior high schools to enable students to practice phonetics effectively.
