Scientific process skills are skills that emphasize the learning, activities, and creativity of students to gain knowledge. Skills of the science process are classified into the psychomotor domain whose judgment tends to be neglected or not yet done optimally. The purpose of this research was to describe the science process skill of students class XI IPA on buffer solution material. The type of this research was descriptive research conducted at SMAN 15 Padang. The sample of research was grade XI IPA 5 and XI IPA 6. Instrument in this research was observation sheet to see the level of emergence of science process skill classified in three levels that was: exist and accordingly, exist but not appropriate, and not yet exist. Skills of the process of science seen from the activities of learning in the classroom and practical work that emergence has not developed optimally. Based on the results of data analysis, KPS indicators were existing and appropriate categories of skills that formulate hypotheses and using tools/materials. The KPS indicators in the category existed but were not appropriate is the skills of observing, interpreting, and applying concepts. Furthermore, the KPS indicators wich were not yet come were ask question and communication skills.

The aim of this research was to evaluate correlation between students science process skill and learning achievement. In form of correlation research, this research was conducted at Chemestry Laboratory of IKIP Mataram in time of 2015-2018. Subject of this researh consists of 138 students who got basic II chemistry practice. Instrument of this research was guestionnaire and test. With 98,22% of validity, the instrument was highly eligible to used in data collecting. The data analyzed by product moment. The data analysis showed that rtest (0,1743) higher than rtable (0,1676). The research showed that there is significant correlation betwen science process skills and students learning achievement.

Curriculum 2013 to emphasize of learning result on cognitive, affective, and skill. Curriculum 2013 not only to emphasize cognitive, however, also affective and skill need to be developed in the learning process. One of the skills that should be developed is the scientific process skills, because it is the high learning result. The objectives of this research are to know the science process skill diversification. Procedure this research using experiment method to design of Nonequivalent Control-Group Pretest Posttest Design. The results of this research there are the science process skills diverse using SSP of science based on PjBL and using teacher’s SSP.

This research was intend to know the implementation of scientific process skills in elementary school of Muhammadiyah 14 Surakarta. It was qualitative research. The subject of this research was students on grade IV B. the data was obtained by observation, interview, and documentation. Observation was conducted by observing learning process on subject Science. The interview used to get data of scientific process skill that is planned on subject Science.  The documentation that was used was lesson plan an others. Data validation was conducted through triangulation. The results of this research were: teacher has prepared lesson plan that implement science process skill on its learning process, the teacher planned all the basic aspect of science process skills, such as: observing, classifying, measuring, predicting, inferring, and communicating. Along the learning process, the learning process was not conducted as written on learning process. The teacher got some hindrance to implement science process skill such as the minimum understanding of the teacher on science process skill and also teacher’s skill on time and class management.

This study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile learning app based on collaborative learning in authentic environment (known as AKSES) and its impact on the preschool students’ basic scientific process skills competency namely; observation, classification and communication. In addition, the study also investigated competency patterns of the students’ skills. This study was a quantitative study which used two sets of instruments which looked into AKSES application and marking rubrics of the students’ basic scientific process skills. Based on quasi-experimental study, the duration of the study was seven weeks and six learning activities were implemented. Two rural preschools were selected based on quota sample selection and 25 students were in each controlled and treatment groups. Analysis of the survey data was carried out in the form of descriptive and inferential analysis involving Mann-Whitney U test. The Mann-Whitney U test analysis found significant differences in competency patterns of basic scientific process skills in both groups. Meanwhile, the competency patterns of basic scientific process skills indicated positive increase among all preschool students after the utilization of AKSES application in learning activities based on collaborative learning strategy in an authentic environment.

The objective of this research is to analyze the science process skills (SPS) of the summative test items in physics in Surakarta. This research used a descriptive method with content analysis, namely: summative test items in Academic Year 2015/2016 in Surakarta. Each item was analyzed based on science process skill indicators prepared and elaborated by the researchers. The result and discussion of the research showed that the SPS found in the summative test items in Physics in Surakarta included those of formulating hypotheses (2.88%), designing experiments (2.10%), interpreting data (5.10%), applying concepts (70.20%), communicating (6.64%), and drawing conclusions (13.08%) respectively.

<p class="Abstract">The aim of this research was to determine the analysis of science process skills in textbooks of chemistry grade XI in SMA N 1 Teras, Boyolali. This research used the descriptive method. The instruments were developed based on 10 indicators of science process skills (observing, classifying, finding a conclusion, predicting, raising the question, hypothesizing, planning an experiment, manipulating materials, and equipment, Applying, and communicating). We analyzed 3 different chemistry textbooks that often used by teachers in teaching. The material analyzed in the book was solubility and solubility product concept in terms of concept explanation and student activity. The results of this research showed different science process skill criteria in 3 different chemistry textbooks. Book A appeared 50% of all aspects of science process skills, in Book B appeared 80% of all aspects of science process skills, and in Book C there was 40% of all aspects of the science process skills. The most common indicator in all books was observing (33.3%), followed by prediction (19.05%), classifying (11.90%), Applying (11.90% ), planning experiments (9.52%), manipulating materials and equipment (7.14%), finding conclusion (4.76%), communicating (2.38%). Asking the question and hypothesizing did not appear in textbooks.</p>

PENGEMBANGAN LKS KIMIA BERBASIS INKUIRI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KERJA ILMIAHAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kerja ilmiah lewat pengembangan lembar kerja siswa berbasis inkuiri. Metode Research and Development dari Brog & Gall digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Lembar Kerja Siswa yang dikembangkan memuat tahapan aktivitas belajar mulai dari merumuskan masalah, mengumpulkan informasi yang relevan, merumuskan hipotesis, membuat variabel dan defini operasionalnya berdasarkan prosedur kerja yang diberikan, melakukan percobaan, mengkomunikasikan data hasil percobaan dalam bentuk tabel atau grafik, menganalisis data, dan merumuskan kesimpulan. Hasil validasi pakar pendidikan, ahli, dan guru kimia dinyatakan bahwa Lembar Kerja Siswa valid dan layak digunakan. Berdasarkan uji coba terbatas diperoleh hasil bahwa keterampilan kerja ilmiah siswa mengalami peningkatan dan reliabilitas tes keterampilan kerja ilmiah layak digunakan pada uji coba meluas. Hasil uji coba meluas menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan keterampilan kerja ilmiah siswa dengan rata-rata efek size sebesar 2,678 (sangat tinggi) dan siswa memberikan respons positif terhadap ketertarikan, keterbaharuan, dan kemudahan terhadap Lembar Kerja Siswa, serta menunjukkan ketertarikan terhadap proses pembelajaran.AbstractThis study was aimed at developing inquiry-based student worksheets to improve student’s scientific process skills. The study used the Brog & Gall Research and Development research method. The student worksheet contained the stages of learning activities consisting of formulating problems, gathering relevant information, formulating hypotheses, making variables and operational definition based on the work procedures, experimenting, communicating experimental data in tabular or graphic form, analyzing data, and formulating conclusion. The results show that the education experts, chemistry teachers, and experts’ validation stated that the student worksheet is valid and feasible to use. The small-scale tryout shows that the students’ scientific process skills have increased and the reliability of scientific skill work tests is feasible to be used in widespread trials. The results of the experiment show that there was an increase in the students’ scientific process skills with the average effect size of 2.678 (very high) and that the students responded positively to the interest, the renewal, and ease of the worksheets and the learning process.

This study aims to examine the practice of the Science Process Skills (SPS) assessment conducted by science teachers in secondary schools in Johor. A total of 254 teachers became survey respondents who answered 28 questions on the assessment methodology practiced in assessing the skills of the student science process skills in the classroom. In this study, four most commonly used assessment methods were selected based on the initial studies conducted. The four methods of assessment are oral questioning, test papers, worksheets and practical work. The information in this study was obtained through survey method using questionnaire instrument. Respondents made the choice of practice form of SPS assessment used by respondents in the classroom by frequency. The reliability index of the respondent is 0.90 showing a high and very good value with Cronbach Alpha value of 0.93. The findings of the study show that the method of worksheet is the most commonly used method with average measurements of -0.32 followed by practical work method (-0.19), oral questioning method (0.21) and most commonly used for estimating SPS is the test paper method (0.24). Although the range of each method is very small, it shows the four methods used by the teacher consistently during the assessment of SPS.

The lack of skill in grade VIII students is very worrying. Learning activities are still teacher-centered, donated by conventional methods, and methods that are not appropriate so that students are not active during the learning and impact on the low achievement of learning. Therefore, to solve the problem in this research used the application of science learning model of community technology to improve learning achievement. This study aims to improve student achievement. This classroom action research was conducted in 2 cycles; data collected using observation sheets, 'process skill' tests and evaluation tests. Data has been quantitatively analyzed. The subjects of this study are all classes VIII-A at SMP Negeri 6 east praya, amounting to 28 students. The results showed that the average of learning outcomes in cycle I was 34, 9 with 10, 7% classical completeness. In cycle II has increased average to 67, 5 with classical completeness 85, 7%. Skills of students' science processes increase from cycle I to II. This research can be concluded that in the application of learning model of 'community technology science' has been able to improve students' science process skill.

The 2013 scientific-based curriculum, teachers must facilitate students to gain knowledge or skills based on the scientific method. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of teaching materials. This type of research development, teaching materials have valid content and media. Teaching materials are declared effective if there is an increase in students' classical mastery, an increase in the achievement of basic competencies, and students can understand macroscopic, microscopic and symbolic level representations. Quantitative descriptive research method, starting from the analysis of the quality of teaching materials and diagnostic test instruments Two Tier Multiple Choice (TTMC), application of teaching materials, application of questions, data analysis of test results, classical completeness, achievement of basic competencies, and analysis of representational understanding. The research subjects were students of class XI and XII MIPA. The results of the study were obtained from the results of the student's TTMC test on the buffer solution material that had used Teaching Materials. Data analysis was done classically. The results showed that there was an increase in classical completeness by 9%, the achievement of basic competence indicators increased by 8% and concept understanding increased by 6%. So that the teaching materials developed are effective to use.
