This study focused on Yemeni EFL learners of second-year level, Department of English, College of Education/Saber, Aden University. Yemeni learners started to study English in class seven at the age of about 14, and this is a problem for Yemeni EFL learners. Besides, Yemeni EFL learners’ problems were inadequate syllabus and inappropriate teaching materials of English-speaking skills course. The researchers identified a problem existing in the classroom. The learners in this college faced difficulties in their study of English-speaking skills at Aden University. This was because of their limited background in English. They felt anxiety and fear of making mistakes. The study’s main objective was to examine the difficulties faced by the Yemeni EFL learners in English-speaking skills course at Aden University. The study contributed to finding remedies to the Yemeni EFL learners’ problems in English -speaking skills. It would also help syllabus designers, teaching materials writers, learners, and teachers at Aden University. We conclude that the Yemeni EFL learners need enough time to practice English-speaking skills at Aden University. The current syllabus and teaching materials for teaching English-speaking skills need to be changed and developed to match the learners’ needs in the labor market.

This study aims to investigate language teaching in the practice of English speaking skills through blended learning, utilizing Youtube as a media. Participants were 42 (males and female) in third semester students enrolled in the second year in Information Technology program, Serang Raya University. The method was classroom action research. Data collected through the procedure taken from the Kemmis Taggart model. Those were begun from planning, action, observation, and reflection. Meanwhile, the data analyzed based on the whole observation of the action on each circle and the result of questionnaires. The result shows that students were greatly motivated on practicing speaking skills.

As it is known formative assessment focuses on both the learning process and learner's performance. In this study digital formative assessment and traditional speaking tests were utilized comparatively to evaluate 52 upper-intermediate EFL learners' English language speaking skills. The study was designed as a mixed-method. The quantitative data were collected via achievement tests which had been administered both in traditional speaking tests and digital formative tests. The qualitative findings were collected with students' interviews which consisted of four open-ended questions. The results of the study showed that participants outperformed in digital formative tests in comparison to traditional speaking tests. Another significant finding of the study is that participants are satisfied with the digital formative assessments in terms of peer collaboration during tests, enriched test materials, and preparation time for the speaking test. Although they have positive views on digital formative assessment, participants are dissatisfied with it in terms of technical problems that they encountered during the administration of digital formative tests.

Language is a pivotal aspect of human being. By learning, language people can communicate with each other, get information from one to another and interact. Unfortunately, in the real condition, it is still difficult for Indonesian students to practice their English ability in daily conversation. This study deals to increase the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students' confidence in English speaking. This research used qualitative analysis by distributing questioner. This study suggest that EFL teachers should seek ways to increase students' collaboration in the classroom to help them gain confidence in speaking. The study involved the students in the fifth semester in the English Department at Tidar University. The researcher compared the gathered data with other relevant researches and theories involved in the study. Based on the research questions, the research result shows that students’ perceptions of self-confidence have a significant to decrease reticence in speaking skills. However, lecturers need to push the students in practice speaking English in front of a class, especially to improve the self-confidence when the students are communicating in English. Two research questions were formulated in this study. There are: (1) what are the factors of the EFL students’ reticence in speaking? (2) Do the students have high self-confidence in speaking skills? In conclusion, this article showed the results that EFL Learners’ self-confidence can be decreased the reticence in speaking ability or not. keywords: Self-confidence, speaking ability, EFL students, qualitative study

The study has positioned dyslexia within the discipline of incapacity research in try to comprehend how this disease can be interpret through the concept of disable barrier, and has developed  an essential realist point of view to expand this conception. Many students come to college except any prognosis of dyslexia by way of specialists, though academic instructors can observe signs and symptoms of dyslexia in some students via direct observation of their activities inside the classroom. This generally capacity that there is an indication of dyslexia in the student‘s ranges of attainment in literacy skills. The participants of this study were undergraduate students second year English department / College of Education/ Wasit University. They are sample of this study (40male and female). Final results of this study show that there is dyslexia between Iraqi EFL learners that have not been diagnosed previously by administrators, instructors, and families in four skills especially in reading.

This study is about the use of language learning strategies by the students of the English Letters department of one of the Islamic Universities in Malang to handle language anxiety to improve their speaking skills. This study aims at discussing the result of some observations and in-depth interviews to two EFL learners using language learning strategies to handle language anxiety to improve their speaking skills. This study applies a descriptive case study involving two EFL learners as the subject of the study. From the study, it is found that EFL learners might experience language anxiety due to several factors/ conditions. It is necessary for the EFL learners to be acquainted more with the use of language learning strategies to handle language anxieties so that they might improve their speaking skills.

This study aimed at investigating the prevailing barriers for developing English speaking skills faced by the undergraduate level students in Bangladesh. The attempt was to locate the importance of speaking proficiency in English as one of the basic skills of a language in this “English” era. In this global age, the use of English has been inevitable, and it is used in different phases of our life. But Bangladeshi EFL learners often fail to attain proper speaking proficiency for some reason. This nature of the study was quantitative, and the data collection tool was questionnaire. This paper is presenting the problems and plausible recommendations in order to develop speaking. The reasons behind the incompetency in speaking skills are many and some of which are the influence of mother tongue, lack of vocabulary, lack of practice, unfavorable environment, teachers’ non-cooperation, shyness, fear, and language ‘fossilization.’

The present study has been conducted to investigate the causes of English language speaking anxiety among EFL learners at Kandahar University. Furthermore, the second goal of the study to investigate the negative effects of speaking anxiety. This study uses a quantitative research approach. Similarly, the questionnaire had two parts the first part had comprised 14 items and the second part 7 items and applied randomly. Besides, the data analyzing was performed in SPSS (version, 24) and bring out the mean and standard division. Finally, the findings revealed those factors which caused EFL learners to feel anxiety during English speaking and numbered as follow: (1) I feel fear of making pronunciation mistakes, (2) I am afraid that my classmates will laugh at me when I speak English. (3) I feel worried during Performing communication orally. In addition, the following factors are the negative effects of anxiety on learners: (1) Anxiety limits my speaking fluency, (2) Anxiety causes me to become under pressure during presentation and (3) Anxiety decreases my oral performance and self-confidence.
