This article attempts to point out history, development and problems of management science in the Faculty of Management. The quality of management science in most management campuses has deteriorated to the worst level which may be attributed to the lack of the faculties of management science, non existenceof the department of management science, traditional curriculum, lack of conducive environment for research, teaching, publication, dissemination as well as lack of faculty development programs. Improving quality of education in the management science is not an impossible dream but it requires strong commitment, cooperation and effort from all stakeholders.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3126/av.v4i0.12359Academic Voices Vol.4 2014: 53-55

Teaching is the bedrock of the learning environment; however, few instructors receive formal instruction on how to teach. While the quality of teaching adults can be assessed in numerous ways, these authors used their experience of creating faculty development programs at small, liberal arts universities to discuss instructor selection, student ratings, mentorship, and peer review. Looking through the lens of formative assessment (evaluation for improvement rather than judgment) and faculty development, this chapter looks at creating a faculty evaluation system which will grow instructors. While many of the items discussed in this chapter could be used with full-time faculty, the focus for these authors is the adjunct community who teach in many adult education programs.

The recent years has seen much discussions concerning ways to emphasize uniqueness of an educational establishment and its operational specifics. Partial solution to these issues is achieved through elaboration and documentation of Concepts, “Educational programs”, “Development programs” for various educational institutions. This is not enough for creation of kindergarten’s outer informational field as an open socio-pedagogic system for prospective customers and consumers of educational services. Thus it is necessary to develop ingenious individualized informational documents for each preschool educational institution. The problem of kindergarten management and quality of education maintenance is discussed. The author concludes, that the positive image enhances competitiveness of a preschool educational institution at the educational services market and should be considered as a crucial resource of preschool educational institution management.

Among the main problems that negatively affect the development of rural settlements were: incomplete financing of rural development programs; duplication of the government's structural activities with the structure of local akimats in comparison with economic activities; dilapidated social and engineering infrastructure in priority villages of the Republic; decrease in the quality of education due to the lack of competition among social professionals in the SNP. In order to effectively address these problems, a number of proposals were made, including: it is shown that there is a need for phased funding of SNP development programs and strict control over its implementation, and the main reasons. To increase the remuneration of specialists in the field of agriculture, it was shown that it is necessary to develop applied solutions aimed at improving performance in the field of agriculture. The need for the competent authorities to develop a large-scale plan for the development, promotion and introduction of opportunities for private entrepreneurship and small business in agriculture was justified. It is shown that budget expenditures for the development of rural localities with small or low potential in the SNP are inefficient. The methods of research, analysis, synthesis, dynamic comparison, systematization, economic expertise, and generalization of scientific data were used in the disclosure of the topic.

Abstract   The major purposes of this paper is to firstly explore the relationship among three variables namely professional development of faculty members, teachers’ performance and quality of higher education, and secondly to provide solution to perceived issues and challenges faced by higher education system with the help of comprehensive model. Authors have deeply reviewed previous research studies conducted by researchers and have elaborated their views in connection with the current debate. This paper is purely qualitative in nature and authors have formulated comprehensive model that can be helpful for the policy makers and administrators of the higher education system. This comprehensive model clearly explains that if teachers are equipped with proper and well organized pedagogical as well as administrative training programs then their performance can be greatly improved which can further enhance the quality of education delivered to the students. Both pre-service and in-service professional development programs should be organized for faculty members that will improve their knowledge, skills and abilities, which in turn will further improve their academic, pedagogical and administrative job performance resulting the improvement of overall quality education. Moreover the relation that has been explored can be used to minimize many emerging problems, and perceived issues and challenges faced by higher education system. The model proposed by authors will be useful for policy makers who can then make better policies and can design improved procedures to enhance quality of education. Besides all this, the model is also helpful for management/administrators of higher education system to train and develop their faculty members on specified patterns to inculcate healthy learning among their students. Key words: Professional Development of faculty members, Perceived Issues and Challenges to Higher Education, Quality, Quality of Education, Professional Development Programs, Performance of Faculty Members.
