The features of maintaining large-capacity waste from oil and gas fields that are suitable for recycling into secondary products are considered. A step-by-step system for selecting and justifying a waste is proposed taking into account the development of the deposit, its natural and manmade features, as well as the selected stages of operation. Pieces of technological schemes of waste preparation are given, as well as the design of the waste preparation complex for disposal constructed at one of the largest oil fields of the Samara region.

Corrosion of equipment in the oil and gas complex is a global problem, as it contributes to huge material costs and global disasters that violate the environment. Corrosion control methods used to protect equipment do not always ensure the absolute safety of the operation of oil and gas facilities. Moreover, they are quite expensive. The developed method for controlling the electrochemical parameters of aqueous solutions to combat complications during the operation of oil-field pipelines provides the necessary protection against corrosion. The method is economical and environmentally friendly, since it does not require the use of chemical reagents. The test results have shown a very high efficiency in dealing with complications in oil fields.

The efficiency of different physical and chemical technologies used in various areas and Romashkinskoye New-Elkhovskoye oil fields was researched. The result was a conclusion that at high water-cut objects, restriction of movement of water in highly permeable leached zones of a productive layer is one of the main conditions for increasing the efficiency of not only flooding, but also the use of physical and chemical methods based on improving of oil extraction factor.

Assessing the quality of environmental objects, identifying the causes of pollution and predicting the future state is an urgent and important task, since it is the quality of natural objects that largely determines the state of human health. This paper presents results of the statistical analysis of the data of water quality monitoring in the rivers within oil fields of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Yugra during 20182019. The correlation analysis (according to Pearson) was carried out to identify the relationships between the samples of hydrochemical parameters and the number of microorganisms of various ecological-trophic groups. As a result of the correlation analysis of the relationship between the indicators of the chemical composition of water, a direct and inverse correlation was obtained for the following indicators: total iron, anionic surfactants, nickel, phenols, copper, sulfates, ammonium ions, lead, phosphates, manganese. The maximum value of the correlation coefficient is observed for Ni and Cr concentrations. For total iron and manganese, a significant positive correlation is also revealed. The distribution of chemical compounds in the rivers doesnt have a pronounced correlation dependence, which is probably due to the heterogeneity of the composition of the waters, as well as to the increasing impact on the environment of the oil and gas complex.

Background. Designing problems of oil fields infrastructure in the Arctic under climate change, namely, applying of temperature coefficient when calculating bearing capacity, heaving of lightly loaded foundations, optimization of thermal stabilization solutions are presented in the article. Aim. To change the strategy for designing foundations on permafrost by choosing the worst soil conditions to the implementation of an invariant matrix for designing and construction of soil bases and foundations considering specifics of industrial facilities of oil and gas fields based on unified numerical calculations (regulations). Materials and methods. An overview of the current regulatory requirements to the design of foundations on permafrost is made. The analysis of forecast modeling of the temperature of soil bases of typical industrial facilities of oil and gas fields to justify design solutions and also the use of thermal stabilization systems is done. Results. It is proposed to develop a regional directory of weather stations with long observation period based on updated climate data to decrease the volume of designing work and the amount of mistakes in applying of thermal stabilization systems. It is necessary to create regional dynamic models of permafrost geosystems, implement forecast modeling of seasonal thawing potential depth and frozen ground temperature in natural landscapes on the base of geotechnical monitoring data and select adaptation methods to existing or expecting climate change trends. Conclusions. Regulations on designing and construction of soil bases and foundations on permafrost considering specifics of industrial facilities of oil and gas fields is an effective solution. It allows moving on the strategy implementation of uniform approaches to oil fields development on permafrost: from designing for every structure on the base of typical solutions and results of engineering surveys to invariant matrix of project solutions.

Nanotechnology encompasses the science and technology of objects with sizes ranging from 1 nm to 100 nm. Today, exploration and production from conventional oil and gas wells have reached a stage of depletion. Newer technologies have been developed to address this problem. Maximum oil production at a minimum cost is currently a huge challenge. This paper reviews nanotechnology applications in the oil and gas production sector, including in the fields of exploration, drilling, production, and waste management in oil fields, as well as their environmental concerns. The paper reviews experimental observations carried out by various researchers in these fields. The effect of various nanoparticles, such as titanium oxide, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, copper oxide, and carbon nanotubes in drilling fluids and silica nanoparticles in enhanced oil recovery, has been observed and studied. This paper gives a detailed review of the benefits of nanotechnology in oil exploration and production. The fusion of nanotechnology and petroleum technology can result in great benefits. The physics and chemistry of nanoparticles and nanostructures are very new to petroleum technology. Due to the greater risk associated with adapting new technology, nanotechnology has been slow to gain widespread acceptance in the oil and gas industries. However, the current economic conditions have become a driving force for newer technologies.

New ideas about the origin of oil and gas are discussed. They are caused by the discovery of the phenomenon of replenishment of oil and gas reserves in exploited fields. This phenomenon was discovered by the Russian geologists a quarter of a century ago, and a little later it was theoretically justified on the basis of the biosphere concept of oil and gas formation. As a result, the well-known «organic hypothesis» and «mineral hypothesis», which have long time competed in oil and gas geology are being replaced by new representations today, according to which oil and gas are the inexhaustible useful fossils of our planet. And their deposits are traps of movable carbon that circulates via the Earth’s surface in three main cycles with periods of ~108-109, ~106 -107 and ≈ 40 years. The 40-year carbon biosphere cycle, which was not previously taken into account at all, plays a main role in replenishment of deposits. Its accounting makes it possible to balance the carbon and water cycles in the biosphere, taking into account the economic activities of people and modern formation of oil and gas in the bowels, and also open up the possibility of exploiting deposits as constantly replenished sources of hydrocarbons.

Currently, 50-60 percents of power consumption in oil fields falls on mechanized oil production. The specificity of the operation of a submersible electric centrifugal pump (ESP), powered by a submersible electric motor (SEM) as consumers of electricity, is due to their operation at a considerable distance from the earth’s surface, the variable nature of the load, the aggressiveness of the produced fluid, and the presence of an extended cable line. (Research objective) To study devices for improving the quality of electricity in the oil industry. (Materials and methods) The results of the survey of the parameters of power consumption of the Novoportovskoe oil and gas condensate field of the PREO «Yamal» Network district No. 1 Kust 18 KTP 10 / 0.4 kV No. 1 input-2. (Results and discussion) The results of studies of the parameters of electricity at the Novoportovskoye oil and gas condensate field have shown that it is advisable to use devices that improve the quality of electricity. Devices can be different, both in design and in scope. Such as voltage stabilizers, phase voltage balancing devices, reactive power compensation devices, filter compensating devices, active mains filters. (Conclusions) Having considered the variety of devices on the market that improve the quality of electricity, as well as devices that compensate for reactive power, it is advisable to use static thyristor reactive power compensators manufactured by JSC Electrointer, Serpukhov.
