AA 2014
Abstract AA 2014 is a precipitation hardenable aluminum alloy in which copper is the principal alloying element. In the heat treated condition the alloy's properties are similar to those of mild steel. Corrosion resistance of AA 2014 is inferior to that of most other aluminum alloys. Sheet and plate may be clad with 6003 alloy to improve corrosion resistance. This cladding alloy contains magnesium and silicon in amounts to form magnesium silicide which is its strengthening constituent. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fatigue. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Al-304. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.
