Abstract HTN is a ductile iron which is heat treatable for producing a wide range of properties. Austempering or quench and temper treatments are applicable. HTN has high hardenability and excellent wear resistance. Its as-cast microstructure is predominantly pearlitic with less than 5% free carbides, well dispersed.
