Abstract METGLAS MBF-60A is a brazing foil in ductile, flexible metallic-glass form (a similar grade, MBF-60, is identical except that it has larger dimensional tolerances). It is an excellent choice of filler metal for large production runs of low-to-medium stressed assemblies. Its excellent flow characteristics and low joint erosion recommend its selection, despite the fact that it has only moderate strength in comparison with other filler metals of this family. It is boron-free and thus is recommended for nuclear reactor applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, and hardness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Ni-278. Producer or source: Allied Corporation.

Abstract METGLAS MBF-35A is a brazing foil in ductile flexible metallic-glass form (a similar grade, MBF-35, is identical except that it has larger dimensional tolerances. It is a low-temperature filler metal foil designed for joining superalloys where the brazing operation should be done simultaneously during solution treatment. This foil exhibits excellent flow characteristics and will flow well into narrow joints. It is not recommended for use in severe corrosive atmospheres. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and microstructure. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Ni-296. Producer or source: Allied Corporation.

Abstract METGLAS MBF-30A is a brazing foil in ductile, flexible metallic-glass form (a similar grade, MBF-30, is identical except that it has larger dimensional tolerances). This foil provides an alloy with high strength at both elevated and room temperatures. It can be used to join highly stressed stainless steel and heat-resisting alloy components. The excellent flow characteristics of this alloy recommend it for assemblies with good fit-up and tight-tolerance joints. It works well on thin-foil, honeycomb designs and on fairly heavy components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and microstructure. It also includes information on heat treating. Filing Code: Ni-273. Producer or source: Allied Corporation.

Abstract AlcoTec Filler Metal 4643 is a reduced-silicon, magnesium-added filler metal used to weld the 6xxx series alloys. Welds meet the high mechanical properties of the 6xxx series, particularly in multipass welding and when low dilution exists. There is no advantage in using 4643 compared to 4043 or other filler metals when no heat treatment is done after welding. The corrosion resistance is very good. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as joining. Filing Code: AL-324. Producer or source: AlcoTec Wire Corporation. Originally published August 1992, revised March 2002.
