Abstract CarTech L6 is an oil-hardening, high-carbon (0.70%), nickel-chromium, alloy cold-work tool steel. It is suitable for short run tooling in applications where a combination of high hardness and good toughness is required. The relatively high nickel content results in an alloy with greater impact toughness compared to the other common oil-hardening grades. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-800. Producer or source: Carpenter Technology Corporation.

Abstract Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Cryodur 2002 is a high-carbon, alloy cold-work tool steel in which the principal alloying element is chromium. It is among the least expensive of the tool steels and requires strict control of processing and heat treatment to achieve good properties and performance. The low alloy content of this steel yields few alloy carbides and, therefore, lower wear resistance compared to the more highly alloyed tool steels. The hardenability of Cryodur 2002 is low, and rapid quenching is required to produce a martensitic microstructure. Despite rapid quenching, this steel may harden only to shallow depths. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming and heat treating. Filing Code: TS-809. Producer or source: Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Specialty Steel GmbH.
