ABSTRACT:  The paper deals with comparative analysis of existing expedients and devices of disinfecting water, spots ways of the solution and a new method of  water purification using electromagnetic field applied in a cross wise direction.

This study proposes a new modification of the homotopy perturbation method. A new parameter alpha is introduced into the homotopy equation in order to improve the results and accuracy. An optimal analysis identifies the parameter alpha, aimed at improving the solutions. A comparative analysis of the proposed method reveals that the new method presents results with higher degree of accuracy and precision than the classic homotopy perturbation method. Absolute error analysis shows the convenience of the proposed method, providing much smaller errors. Two examples are presented: Duffing and Van der pol’s nonlinear oscillators to demonstrate the efficiency, accuracy, and applicability of the new method.

This paper presents a comparative analysis of different earthing designs’ performances, with particular interest on the use of earthing enhancing compound (EEC) for a selected earthing design of 500 kV transmission towers in a rocky soil, using the SESCAD tool of the Current distribution, electromagnetic field grounding and soil structure analysis (CDEGS) software. The simulation included the interpretation of soil profile and comparison between designs A, B and C, which are currently used for the 500 kV tower footing resistance (TFR) improvement. Results showed each design had reduced the TFR by 66%, 54.7% and 63.2% for the towers T42, T48 and T50, respectively. In some cases, further improvement of TFR is required, especially in the rocky area where the soil resistivity (SR) value is of more than 500 Ω⋅m. In this case, EEC was used in Design C, encasing both the vertical and horizontal electrodes, and it reduced the TFR further by 16% to 20%. The characteristics of the soil and earthing arrangement design play an important role in achieving a low TFR value, which is directly proportional to the backflashover occurrence and thus to the transmission line performance.

We derive a new set of field equations within the framework of the Palatini formalism. These equations are a natural generalization of the Einstein–Maxwell equations which arise by adding a function [Formula: see text], with [Formula: see text] to the Palatini Lagrangian f(R, Q). The result we obtain can be viewed as the coupling of gravity with a nonlinear extension of the electromagnetic field. In addition, a new method is introduced to solve the algebraic equation associated to the Ricci tensor.

The paper analyzes the fractal dimension of the network and its use for telecommunication networks research and planning. The analysis of the "cluster growing" method for assessing the fractal dimension is given and a new method for assessing the fractal dimensionof anetwork is proposed, based onassessing the network connectivity by finding the shortest paths. The article shows that the assessment of the fractal dimension of the network is an additional characteristic that reflects the topological properties of the network. Comparative analysis of the proposed method and "cluster growing" is given. The results obtained make it possible to select a method and obtain estimates of the fractal dimension of the network, depending on its features.

The paper discusses a new method of obtaining local particle reinforcement in the composite discs. In this method, the liquid composite suspension is poured into a mould and then exposed to the alternating electromagnetic field. The Lorentz force acting on the liquid metal causes the reinforcement to move towards one or both surfaces of the manufactured disc. The paper presents the process theory, the methodology for the casting system design, and the results of an experimental manufacture of one-side and two-side reinforced composite discs made of aluminium alloy.

In a previous paper a new method, based on Kemmer's β-formalism, of calculating meson processes was given for the case in which the meson interacts with an electromagnetic field. This method is now extended to the nuclear interaction, so that the whole of the meson theory can be given either in tensor or in matrix form, the former being preferable when the wave aspect of the meson is important and the latter when the particle aspect is dominant. As examples of the matrix method, derivations are given of the cross-sections for the nuclear scattering of mesons and for the production of mesons from nuclei by photons. It is pointed out that the usual non-relativistic theory of the nuclear interaction is inadequate even for very small velocities.
