Building information modelling (BIM) is one of the new technologies being used in architectural and constructions projects. At present, BIM curricula are being taught in many Malaysian higher learning institutions, including at the certificate level in community colleges. Even though many studies have investigated behavioural intention to adopt BIM in the industrial setting, studies on the intention to use BIM among students during their training or learning have not received the same level of attention. This study, therefore, investigated the extent to which community college students are willing to accept and use BIM. Factors that influenced their behavioural intention to use BIM, as well as the relationship between the factors and intention to use were also examined. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was used as the theoretical framework to guide the research, where students’ behavioural intention to use BIM was explained through their perceptions of its usefulness and ease of use, as well as their attitude towards BIM utilization in the classroom. A total of 144 community college students enrolled in the architecture programmes in Malaysia were selected as the sample using convenience sampling. The findings show that the students’ behavioural intention to adopt BIM is high. They also perceive BIM as useful and easy to use, and their attitude towards BIM usage appears to be positive. The regression model produced an adjusted R-squared value of 0.790 indicating that 79% of the total variance in the students’ intention to use BIM can be explained by the three independent variables, i.e., perceived usefulness, ease of use, and attitude. Keywords: Building information modelling, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, intention to use, behavioural intention, Technology Acceptance Model

BIM or Building Information Modelling is the latest technology that widely used in industry such as architecture, engineering dan construction. Hence, it plays a role in increasing value in architectural education in line with industrial need. It is imperative that architectural BIM been used in education level to produce highly skilled students. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of BIM in the field of Architectural Technology Certificate in Community College through BIM Architecture. It aims to examine the relationship between interest and skills towards student attitudes. Then identify the influence of interest and skills on student attitudes. This study used quantitative method of questionnaire. Data were collected from 30 students of Architectural Technology from 2 Community College from population of 45 respondents. The two Community Colleges involved are Bandar Darulaman Community College and Kepala Batas Community College. Results presented there was strong correlation between attitudes and skills which is significant (r=0.566, p=0.01). In detail, attitude and interest (r=0.406, p=0.26) were positively ang significantly correlated with skills. In addition, the results of the analysis also showed that the skills influence the attitude with β= 0.481 which is considered as 48.1 percent from the total percentage. Whilst, the interest did not influence the attitude of the students in studying BIM Architecture (r= 0.178, p=0.275). Hence, this indication the effectiveness of BIM Architecture in education influenced by the attitude and encouraged students to be interested in Architectural BIM. While skill is within the TVET application in learning of todays community college. It is also evident that the interest does not influence the attitude of the students in learning of Architectural BIM. Difference with skills that could influenced the attitudes towards more skilled and diligent in the learning of Architectural BIM. The results of this study help in enforcement of the implications of learning Architectural BIM at the Department of Polytechnic and Community College.

This research explores factors associated with the use of the Uber application, a successful sharing economy innovation, in South Africa. The exploratory research adapted a technology acceptance model with two other factors, perceived risks and company characteristics on behavioural intention to utilize Uber. Using a survey data of 396 respondents, this research empirically finds that ease of use, company characteristics, attitude, perceived usefulness, and level of education have significant positive impacts on behavioural intention to use Uber applications. Meanwhile, gender and age groups have negative impacts on behavioural intention. Furthermore, the study found that perceived risk has a negative impact on behavioural intention to use Uber. The research findings are of significance for management on how user insights can be applied to take advantage of new prospects to innovate and to expand their businesses and for policymakers on how to seize the opportunities presented by such innovation and develop appropriate policy frameworks.

In recent years, instructors have had an increasing interest in integrating Internet based technologies into their classroom as part of the learning environment. Compared to studies on other information systems, student users' behaviour towards e-portfolios have not been assessed and thoroughly understood. This paper analyses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to examine students' behavioural intention to use an electronic portfolio system, meaning how students use and appropriate it within the specific framework of a course. An E-Portfolio Usage Questionnaire was developed using existing scales from prior TAM instruments and modified where appropriate. Seventy-two participants completed the survey questionnaire measuring their responses to perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), attitudes towards usage (ATU) and behavioural intention to use (BIU) the e-portfolio system. The results of the study indicated that students' perceived ease of use (PEOU) had a significant influence on attitude towards usage (ATU). Subsequently, perceived ease of use (PEOU) had the strongest significant influence on perceived usefulness (PU). The research further demonstrated that individual characteristics and technological factors may have a significant influence on instructors to adopt e-portfolio into their courses. Results suggest that TAM is a solid theoretical model where its validity can extend to an e-portfolio context.

The purpose of this paper is to empirically study factors that facilitate the adoption of building information modelling (BIM) among practitioners using the unified theory of technology acceptance model (TAM). The factors identified in the TAM were examined using a quantitative approach. The empirical investigation has been conducted using a survey questionnaire. The data set has been obtained from 73 architects and engineers in Peru. Results show that Perceived Usefulness (PU) is the most important determinant of Behavioural Intention (BI), while Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) is found to have no significant effect on BI. The findings provide an excellent backdrop in the development of policy and a roadmap for BIM implementation in Peru. The original contribution and value of the paper is the use of TAM to provide empirical evidence on factors that facilitate BIM adoption in Peru.

Purpose The purpose of this study is go better understand website usability by community college students. The usability study team sought data that would help to guide in a website redesign. Design/methodology/approach Librarians led students through sessions that followed the usability testing approach defined by Nielsen (2012) which emphasizes the ease of use of the Web interface. This study compared the results from the existing library website and a prototype website. Findings The study’s findings emphasized the need for balance between the variety of services and content that the website provides. This is especially true given that so many community college students are underprepared for college-level courses. Research limitations/implications The study was limited by available time and the clinical nature of the usability session. Practical implications The study results underscore the significant challenge facing library website designers. The various online services exist in pockets that are only partially integrated and, therefore, require students to make decisions and predictive judgments as they navigate the site. Originality/value Overall, this study emphasized the need for balance between the variety of services and content that the website provides.

Although the government of Indonesia is building the cashless society, the number of e-wallet users are increasing slowly. E-wallet is becoming a common instrument of payments from the paper-based instruments to server-based electronic money. The aim of this research is to investigate the perceived usage of the Y Generations on e-wallet based on Technological Acceptance Model (TAM) which is a powerful model to describe single approval to the usage of a new information technology system. As a quantitative research, the data analysis is using the Partial Least Square (PLS) with the SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results show that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use brings impacts positive significant impacts to behavioural intention to use, then, the behavioural intention to use affect a positive significant impact to perceived usage. However, a direct effect from perceived usefulness to perceived usage shows a negative and no significant impact, meanwhile an unintended effect from perceived usefulness to perceived usage through behavioural intention to use show a positive significant impact. Finally, a direct effect from perceived ease of use to perceived usage shows a lower t-statistic value than an indirect effect from perceived ease of use to perceived usage through behavioural intention
