Throughout the world, many children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There are many challenges parents face in raising these special children. It includes the educational, financial, social and mental aspects of the parents themselves. Even parents with autism children are said to suffer more stress than parents with normal children or other disabilities. This article is intended to gain a better understanding of the major challenges parents face in autism children. Based on the reading and observation, parents found that children with autism had their own challenges in raising their children. They need the support and concern of all parties to stay strong for their children. At the end of this article is the hope that the parental voice can be addressed. Also, this service can inspire parties such as government departments, NGO’s and the rest of the community to come up with a program or support plan that can help parents and children with autism. This study uses qualitative methods in which the researcher will conduct semi-structured interviews to understand the meaning given by the respondents on this issue.

ABSTRAKBerkembangnya teknologi pada pembelajaran anak, mengakibatkan orang tua serta guru harus ikut serta dalam perkembangan tersebut demi kemanjuan anak salah satu aplikasi pembelajaran yang bisa digunakan merupakan Our story application yang memungkinkan interaksi orang tua dan anak untuk pembelajaran bahasa inggris. Namun, pendampingan kadang hanya berfokus pada anak-anak normal belum banyak yang melakukan pendampingan bersama dengan anak-anak Autism. Oleh sebab itu, pendampingan ini dilakukan pada anaka-anak Autism Spectrum Disoreder dan orang tua aplikasi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. terutama dalam pembelajaran reading sebagai bagian terpenting dari keterampilan berbahasa Inggris. Pendampingan ini dilakukan dengan cara berkeliling kerumah setiap peserta yang bersedia setiap minggunya yang mehasilkan adanya faktor pendukung serta faktor penghambat dalam pelaksanaan pendampingan, Kata kunci: membaca; storybook application; ASD; interaksi ABSTRACTThe development of technology in children's learning has resulted in parents and teachers having to participate in these developments for the sake of children's progress. One of the learning applications that can be used is Our story application which allows interaction between parents and children for learning English. However, sometimes mentoring only focuses on normal children, not many have assisted with Autism children. Therefore, this assistance is carried out for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and parents with English learning applications. especially in learning reading as the most important part of English language skills. This assistance is carried out by going around the house of each willing participant every week which results in supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the implementation of mentoring. Keywords: reading; storybook application; ASD; interaction.

Although children across the world experience autism spectrum disorder (ASD), most research on ASD has been conducted using Western cultural perspectives and has focused primarily on mothers, leaving significant gaps in the literature. This study aimed to address these gaps by exploring the experiences of fathers raising children with ASD in a Bedouin community. To this end, a sample of 19 fathers of children (aged 6–15 years) with ASD living in recognized and unrecognized Bedouin settlements in the Negev participated in ethnographic, semi-structured interviews designed to investigate their experiences with raising a child with ASD in their community. Two major themes emerged: the challenges that Bedouin fathers of children with ASD face, and the influence of socio-demographic and cultural characteristics on their experience. Findings reflect the complex experiences of fathers raising children with ASD in the Bedouin community, stemming from their socio-cultural context and the limited knowledge and support services that are available in the community for these children. This article concludes with recommendations on how to enhance professional sensitivity and provide more culturally tailored services for parents of children with ASD.

The article reveals the problem of including a parent and a child with autism spectrum disorder in cooperative activities using the example of two families participating in the research. The theoretical foundations of this problem and the practical results obtained at the first stage of the study by questioning parents, and also by observing the cooperative productive activities of the child and the parent during the drawing lessons. The question of the importance of parental involvement in the child's rehabilitation process is considered.

Various medical and technological organizations are working on the development of unconventional solutions such as therapy and assistance for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Different organizations, researchers and educators have been involved in the study and realization of virtual reality (VR) solutions to be used as therapy, training, and support for these individuals. Previous researches and experiments showed that it is possible to ameliorate the level of concentration, coordination, socialization, communication, self-awareness, and memory in school children treated with these tools. VR environments may offer a total physical involvement of the ASDs that may see the world through virtual immersion and active practice. This chapter presents a way of rethinking teaching and learning.

AbstractObjectivesChildren with autism spectrum disorder face a broad range of communication and sensory challenges. Many of these children also have chronic ENT issues. This study aims to better understand these challenges and improve our services for children with autism spectrum disorder.MethodsQuestionnaires and semi-structured interviews were carried out with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.ResultsThirty-four individuals participated, comprising 9 caregivers and 25 staff members. All parents recognised their critical roles in understanding their children's special needs and sensitivities. Parents and staff stressed the importance of a partnership role that inquired about unique needs, leading to environmental modifications for individual children.ConclusionThe importance of listening to and involving caregivers is a fundamental tenet; parents must be recognised as the experts. Uncertainty must be kept to a minimum, with clear communication in a structured, low-arousal environment for these children. We have listened to parents and staff, and developed a social story.

Introduction. Depressive states and anxiety are common symptoms of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The persons with intellectual disabilities show problems related to the development of basic motor skills, having learning problems compared to normal ones, imbalances between the processes of arousal and inhibition, limited motor ability, difficult understanding of language and motor tasks, difficult concentration, mechanical assimilation etc. Objectives. The study analyzes the effectiveness of structures and motion games, applied in specific activities for children with intellectual disabilities (ID) and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Material and Methods. The research involved an experimental group of 5 children with one of these disabilities or their combination (age 10-11 years), included in a training process at the Ion Teodorescu Special Vocational School in Slobozia / Ialomița / Romania and comparing their results with a control group (6 normal children, with an average age of 10 years), between 20.09.2020-10.03.2021. The assessment of the level of psychomotor and intellectual development was made by the Cutout Test, the Cohs Cube Test (light task configurations) and an Attention Flexibility Test (movement to the corners of the room/field depending on the assigned color, counting successful attempts and mistakes). Results and discussion. The obtained results confirm the working hypothesis, so the use of the structures and games proposed in the program contributes to a significant improvement of the psychomotor and intellectual performances of students with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum. Conclusion. espite all these improvements, they cannot approach or equal the reference values of children without problems, falling into the same age category. Background : Autism is one of the fastest spreading neuro-developmental disorders in the worldwide.Children with Autism spectrum disorder may be risk of suboptimal development which leads to increases morbidity, poor physical activity and performances. The aim of present study was to compare nutritional status between children with Autism spectrum disorder and normal children of Bangladesh. Materials and methods: It was cross-sectional and observational study. The study population was Group A consists of 100 normal Bangladeshi children and Group B consists of 100 Bangladeshi children with Autism spectrum disorder, aged between 02 and 18 years collected by convenient sampling. Height, weight, triceps skin fold thickness, suprailiac skin fold thickness and Body Mass Index (BMI) were analyzed. Results: Children with autism spectrum disorder had statistically significant lower height and weight; thicker triceps and suprailiac skin fold, were mostly under weight as compared to normal children. Conclusion: The results of this study provide the baseline information about nutritional status of normal children and children with autism spectrum disorder in Bangladesh which will help to monitor nutritional growth of children. Abstract Families with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face a unique set of challenges with the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place related to a diverse set of issues, including explaining COVID-19 and safety precautions in a comprehensible way, building structure in home for e-learning to take place, and guiding children back into social situations and the community. We sought to obtain direct feedback through semi-structured interviews from fifteen parents of children and adolescents from a non-public school for children with level 2 and 3 ASD to both develop an initial guide for families, teachers and clinicians caring for children with ASD and to create awareness in the community about the challenges presented by COVID-19 and shelter-in-place.

Sensory perceptual experiences are now directly associated with the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Given that autism is a heterogenous disorder, literature abounds in evidences that report varied sensory perceptual issues affecting daily lives of individuals with autism. One question that motivated the current study is “Why do they report to have varied sensory profiles?” The answer lies in the way their bodies interact with the world around them—theory of embodiment in cognitive linguistics. Thirteen children with autism were observed through SPCR (Sensory Profile Checklist Revised (Bogdashina, 2003)) against 20 categories, which Bogdashina (2003) refers to as their bodily resources. Out of seven modalities, only three—vision, hearing and proprioception—were studied for current study. The findings were consistent with the embodiment thesis offered by cognitive linguistics—human beings are embodied beings.
