The Sargent apple tree is highly valued for its decorative qualities, it is used in breeding work when developing new ornamental varieties. To assess the breeding potential, as well as planning crosses, information is needed on the variability of the morphometric traits of the apple flower and fruit, as well as the presence of a relationship between these traits. The research was carried out in the laboratory of cultivated plants of the Tsytsin Main Botanical Garden on 12 quantitative traits of flower and fruit. It was found that almost all traits are characterized by a low level of polymorphism of 7-15% (flower diameter - 13.2%, pedicel thickness - 14.9%, peduncle length - 8.3%, fruit length - 4.7%, fruit diameter - 5.7%) or an average level (16-25%), except for the mass of seeds (40%) and the number of seeds in the fruit (33.9%). An inverse correlation was found between the length of the anther and the number of seeds inside the fruit (r = -0.46), as well as strong direct relationships between the diameter of the fruit and the weight of the fruit (r = 0.79) and the diameter of the fruit and the length of the fruit (r = 0, 78). A reliable direct relationship between the group was also revealed: flower length, filament length, pedicel thickness, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight. The paper provides an assessment of the frequency of apple fruiting of different maturation periods growing on the lower terrace of the Vs. M. Krutovsky Botanical garden in the period from 2015 to 2018 according to the following parameters: the number of fruit-bearing trees, the number of fruits on the tree, yield. In the conditions of the Botanical garden, located in the green zone of Krasnoyarsk, the timing of the onset of removable fruit maturity varies significantly. The variability of the fruit formation period depends on the weather conditions in the summer and primarily on the temperature regime. The optimal time for collecting varieties of the summer ripening period is August, and for winter varieties is September, since by this time the fruits of these groups acquire a characteristic color and size. It was found that during the research period, most of the trees of the presented varieties fruited annually. Varieties and individual specimens with an annual plentiful fruiting and maximum fruit weight of fruits are selected: Bismark, Belyy Naliv, General Orlov, Grushovka moskovskaya, Zolotoy Ship, Papirovka, which is a positive factor in a sharply continental climate. It was found that in Siberia, varieties adapted to the European zone have successfully adapted and can be grown in these and similar climatic conditions and can be recommended for further breeding.

The paper shows the results of more than 70 years activities on creation unique collection of non-traditional fruit and berry plants in the laboratory of food plants introduction at the Central Siberian Botanical Garden of SD RAS. The collection consists of 85 species from 29 genera and 10 families, 314 varieties and 567 selected forms. The paper shows the results of research on introduction and breeding of wild apple-tree, mountain ash, bird cherry tree, cherry, cranberry, blueberry, red currant, blue honeysuckle and hawthorn in Siberia. Such berries as mountain ash, bird cherry, cranberry and blueberry are of particular interest as they are rather new to horticulture of Siberia. The article highlights the outlooks of introduction of non-traditional fruit and berry plants into horticulture of Siberia. The paper contains characteristic of chemical composition of wild fruit and leaves and bred exotic species. The author explores the possibility of their use as food, medical and cosmetic products; the paper shows promising use of rare fruit and berry plants of Siberia as a functional food.

The Tsumi apple tree is a valuable crop due to the presence of a gene for resistance to powdery mildew, abundant annual fruiting and a special decorative effect during flowering and fruiting. Its breeding potential has been little studied; therefore, it is necessary to study the morphometric characteristics of a flower and a fruit and establish connections between them. The collection of flowers and fruits of the Tsumi apple tree was carried out in the laboratory of cultivated plants of the Tsytsin Main Botanical Garden in 2021. The coefficients of variation and correlation according to Spearman were determined. It was found that the polymorphism of flower traits is at a very low level (from 4.4% to 14.2%). The number of flowers per inflorescence varies within 15.9%, which corresponds to the average level of polymorphism, as well as in the weight of the fruit (17.3%) and in the weight of seeds (19.5%). Variations in the length of the peduncle, the number of seeds, the length of the fruit, and the diameter of the fruit are at a very low level (6.9-13.6%). A significant number of reliable inverse (negative) correlations were found between signs of moderate strength (0.5 <r <0.6): a strong relationship between fruit weight and anther length (r = -0.73), fruit length and filament length (r = -0.71). A strong positive relationship was found between the following traits: fruit weight and fruit diameter (r = 0.79), seed weight. Abstract The work suggests importance of monitoring apple tree pests from moth group in growing conditions of Nitra, Slovakia. In 2014 there was observed occurrence of moths e.g. Codling moth (Cydia pomonella L.), Appleseed moth (Grapholita lobarzewskii Now.), Hawthorn berry moth (G. janthinana Dup.), and Summer fruit tortrix moth (Adoxophyes orana Fish. v. Roesl.) in the apple tree orchard located in the Botanical Garden of SUA in Nitra with help of pheromone traps. The date of first generation occurrence of Codling moth, Appleseed moth and Summer fruit tortrix moth was recorded on April 23. All the pests showed two peaks of flight activity, but with Hawthorn berry moth three periods of higher occurrence were recorded. The course of temperatures influenced number of pests trapped in traps remarkably. The number of pest individuals was highly influenced by rainy weather and lower temperatures in months when there was expected their highest harmfulness. The recorded values might be influenced by plant species diversity of the experimental orchard as well as that of the surrounding area.

The article presents the results of studies of the aboveground phytomass of domestic apple (Malus domestica Borkh) at 14-year and 113-year biological age, which were carried out on the basis of Krutovsky Botanical Garden in the suburban area of Krasnoyarsk. The features of phytomass distribution by fractional composition have been established for the first time for apple trees grown in Siberia in prostrate shrub form. From 10 to 13 leaves with an average area of 26 cm2 and an absolutely dry weight of 0.34 g are formed on the annual shoots of prostrate shrub apple trees. During the formation of fruit trees in the form of "Krasnoyarsk prostrate shrub", three or four main skeletal branches are left. The average model branch of a 14-year-old tree has a length of 3.4 m and a diameter of 7.6 cm at the point of attachment to the trunk; its weight is 1.4 kg in an absolutely dry state. The aboveground phytomass of a tree is 9.7 kg (on average) in an absolutely dry state. At the same time, leaves account for 12% of the aboveground phytomass, stem - 16.6%, branches - 71.4%. With regular pruning of the crown to maintain the prostrate shrub form of cultivation in Krutovsky Botanical Garden, by the age of 14, the phytomass of the crown decreases by 30-33%. The average model branch in a 113-year-old apple tree, when grown in prostrate shrub form, has a length of 6.4 m and a diameter at the base of 26.7 cm. Its weight in an absolutely dry state is 51.9 kg. The phytomass of the aboveground part of a 113-year-old apple tree averages 164 kg in an absolutely dry state, being distributed by fractions: 1.8% (leaves), 3.4% (stem) and 94.8% (branches), respectively
