Meningkatkan Performa dan Stabilitas Kecepatan Transfer Data pada FreeBSD dengan Kostumisasi Kernel

In this project, we demonstrated how to improve transfer rate when transfering data from a notebook installed FreeBSD operating system to another notebook installed Windows 8 operating system. The method which we used was with customizing the kernel on FreeBSD. Before we customized the kernel, we calculated the average time of the transfer speed with its default kernel. After we got the average time, then we customized its kernel and calculated the average time after we installed the custom kernel. At the end we got faster average time with the customized kernel and the performance better. Index Terms - FreeBSD, Server, Transfer rate, Improving

Abstrak: Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah Untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan jaringan protokol IPv4 pada Kampus Aikom Ternate, Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Laboraturium Akademi Ilmu Komputer (AIKOM) Ternate. Teknik Pengumpulan data melaui Pustaka, Penilitian Lapangan, observasi dan interview, Metode Perancangan dan implementasi Jaringan menggunakan protokol IPv4 dengan system operasi Linux Sabily. Game is currently in great demand by various circles, especially children. Children's interest in the game can be used as a tool to increase children’s intellectuality, i.e. English competence. The purpose of this study is to design an animal-themed quiz game in English languange based on Windows 8 operating system, followed by making a game prototype designed. This game is expected to be an exciting educational tool for children in learning English and broadening the knowledge about types of animal. The research is conducted through the stages of game design requirements, game design, evaluation and implementation. Based on theresults of the evaluation it is found that thoroughly the game already meets the standards of IMK by Shneiderman and Plaisant (2010). It is good enough as a game play since it is available at Window Store.

Proses transfer dan mendapatkan data yang lambat dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama menyebabkan user sering mengeluh dengan lambatnya kecepatan jaringan yang ada. PT. Bank Commonwealth (PTBC) sangat memerlukan kecepatan transfer data, selain itu kecepatan transfer data menjadi masalah yang sering dialami dalam jaringan. Laporan ini dibuat untuk mengetahui performa transfer rate dan kualitas antara media akses wireless dan wireline pada teknologi Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) di PT. Bank Commonwealth (PTBC). Kinerja jaringan yang di uji adalah delay dan packet loss pada hasil test ping serta menguji kapasitas bandwidth yang disewa. Pengujian dilakukan pada lima cabang yang menggunakan akses wireless dan lima cabang yang menggunakan akses wireline selama lima hari pada saat office hour dannon office hour. Dari hasil pengujian terlihat bahwa media akses wireline lebih baik transfer rate-nya dan lebih stabil apabila dibandingkan dengan media akses wireless.Kata Kunci: Transfer Rate, MPLS, wireless, wireline, delay, packet loss, ping.

<p>PT Selaras Pariwara Ekacitra merupakan perusahaan dibidang advertising yang membutuhkan tingkat bandwidth yang besar karena tingkat transfer data yang sangat besar dari satu komputer ke komputer yang lain, terutama akses beberapa client ke server. Pada jaringan tersebut tingkat bottleneck terkecil yang terjadi adalah 74,6% dan tingkat bottleneck terbesar adalah 77,7%. Sedangkan rata-rata tingkat bottleneck yang terjadi adalah 75,58%. Link aggregation atau trunking port atau Ethernet bonding merupakan penggabungan beberapa port jaringan menjadi satu sehingga bisa mendapatkan bandwidth yang lebih besar dari beberapa interface. Pengujian endurance pada jaringan komputer dilakukan dengan melakukan transfer data dengan kecepatan maksimal dengan menggunakan File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Pengujian dilakukan pada server yang telah dipasang tools Filezilla server dan pada client yang telah dipasang filezilla client. Dan hasil setelah menggunakan metode link aggregation, kecepatan data transfer rate mengalami kenaikan rata – rata sebesar 66%.</p>

Human hands are an important source of microbial contamination of foods. However, published data on the effectiveness of handwashing and glove use in a foodservice setting are limited. Bacterial transfer through foodservice quality gloves was quantified using nalidixic acid-resistant Enterobacter aerogenes (a nonpathogenic surrogate with attachment characteristics similar to Salmonella). Five transfer rates were determined: chicken to bare hand, chicken to hand through gloves, bare hand to lettuce, hand to lettuce through gloves (with low inoculum on hands), and hand to lettuce through gloves (with high inoculum on hands). At least 30 observations were made for each percent transfer rate using 30 individual volunteers. The logarithm of percent transfer data were then fit to distributions: chicken to bare hand, normal (0.71, 0.42); chicken to hand through gloves, gamma (5.91, 0.40, −5.00); bare hand to lettuce, logistic (1.16, 0.30); hand to lettuce through gloves (low inoculum), normal (0.35, 0.88); hand to lettuce through gloves (high inoculum), normal (−2.52, 0.61). A 0.01% transfer was observed from food to hands and from hands to food when subjects wore gloves and a 10% transfer was observed without a glove barrier. These results indicate that gloves are permeable to bacteria although transfer from hands to food through a glove barrier was less than without a glove barrier. Our results indicate that gloves may reduce both bacterial transfer from food to the hands of foodservice workers and in subsequent transfer from hands back to food.

This research aims to give information regarding the speed of mathematical calculation on windows so that people can choose an operating system which suits them without wasting their time. In this research, we need a laptop and some operating systems (windows) so that we can compare one with the other accurately. The result of this research will be noted and analysed qualitatively, quantitatively, and descriptively. It shows that running the same mathematical calculation program on different operating systems will produce a same result but different time. Index Terms - calculate the speed, operating system

This research aims to design an application to support mechanical performance at PT Sriwijaya Air in creating a report called Line Maintenance Crew Report (LMCR), applications created aims to mechanics no longer need to walk into the office to make a report LMCR. How that is done in this study is collecting data associated with preparing reports LMCR, create a modeling system by describing it using Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), create relationships between data with the Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), to design an application using the IDE eclipse and its database using MySQL. Results of research conducted shows that the application to generate the report based mobile operating system Android can speed mechanics in making the report analyzed by the MCC to be sent to the destination airport, so the destination airport can prepare early and prevent delay. File server merupakan salah satu jenis server yang melayani permintaan penyimpanan file. Sebagai sebuah file server dibutuhkan kapasitas media penyimpanan yang besar dan mampu dilakukan perluasan kapasitas kapan saja dibutuhkan. Hal ini menyebabkan dibutuhkan sebuah metode yang mampu mengelola hard disk pada server secara fleksibel. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis pengelolaan media penyimpanan menggunakan metode AoE dan LVM. AoE merupakan salah satu metode yang mampu melakukan sharing block devices hard disk pada jaringan. Sedangkan LVM merupakan pengelolaan hard disk yang memungkinkan penggabungan beberapa hard disk pada 1 komputer untuk memperoleh kapasitas yang lebih besar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan media penyimpanan pada server dengan menggunakan metode AoE dan LVM memiliki kecepatan transfer data 11.05091 MB/s dari transfer rate maksimum 11.5MB/s.

The operating system is a vital part of the computer system. Windows users still occupies the top position in the operating system user statistics. The popular Windows operating system, Windows 7 and Windows 8, they still have loyal users. The issue of information security becomes important with the increasing use of today's technology in various aspects. This study aims to analyze system security in Windows 7 and Windows 8. The results of this study prove the security system of Windows 8 is superior to its predecessor Windows 7. However, the primacy of security system Windows 8 can not be separated from some of notes that should be of concern to the user
