The image and audiovisual have been applied to create an innovative strategy in the English language instructional, whereas the combination of this instrument and digital technology which is known as “multimodality” has not been explored widely. This study gauges higher education students’ perception of multimodality. There were 87 Polytechnic and 41 University students involved in this research. Digital questionnaires were employed and the data collection was elaborated descriptively. The UTAUT model (unified theory of acceptance and use of technology) was applied to measure students’ argument on the multimodality use. The result indicated that there is a positive trend in the use of multimodality in the classroom. Learners have a desire to use the combination of image, audiovisual and digital technology. This study extends our understanding of what the learners need from digital technology development and a significant chance to develop on the multimodality which fit for the higher education level.

For the finding, the study found that Higher Education Institute students have moderate level of language anxiety. Therefore, the study also revealed that the Higher Education Institute students have a moderate level of language anxiety in the test anxiety component and fear of negative evaluation component. On the other hand, Higher Education Institute students' have a high level of language anxiety in the communication apprehension component. [The final form of this paper was published in the journal Issues in Informing Science and Information Technology.] In the digital technology era, mobile devices have an important rule to deploy a copy of data and information through the network. An electronic reader (eReader) allows readers to read written materials in an electronic manner that is available in many models. The objective of this study is to evaluate the usage of eReader by higher education students. We firstly identified the most frequently used eReader by surveying higher education students. The survey results showed that Apple iPad, Amazon Kindle, and Samsung Tablet are the most popular eReader devices used by higher education students. We presented these results, and then we analyzed the surveyed results in detail in order to develop an evaluation metric of the eReader in a mobile platform that clearly allows the selection of the most suitable eReader for higher education students. The main contribution of this paper is the development of a set of criteria that can be used by students in the selection of an eReader that matches their specific needs and requirements.

This chapter presents a review of studies and reports of students’ use of technology in higher education published primarily in the U.S. and Canada from 2005 to 2012. The review is conducted using an Activity Theory framework that organizes information from the literature according to the components of the activity system—subject, tools, object, norms, community, division of labour, and outcomes. The chapter concludes with a summary of the activity system and limitations of the approach.

In this chapter, the authors present the approaches and benefits of integrating popular culture into the English language learning classroom. They provide background information on classroom use of technology and popular culture as well as student demographics. This chapter addresses counterarguments against the inclusion of popular culture for literacy development and explains why the advantages outweigh the concerns. Also discussing the teaching approaches that are supported by the incorporation of popular culture, the authors provide reasons and examples of effective curricula, including lessons, materials, and topics. The authors base their argument on research as well as personal experience to claim that the incorporation of popular culture will support linguistically and culturally responsive teaching approaches and will promote student engagement, connections, and motivation in ways that support learning for English language learners in both K-12 and higher education settings.

Internet of Medical Devices is a connected ecosystem of devices, physicians and patients intended to deliver affordable and quality healthcare to masses. The study is intended to identify and establish variables which influence user intentions for continued usage for this purpose we have used Unified Theory of Acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model, Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT) and Medical Device Technology Development Process theory (MDTDP). App Quality, system stability and User experience are other variables utilized in study the study aims to bring in focus variables which influence “intentions for continued usage.” These insights will be valuable to all interested in connected devices ecosystem in healthcare and can be imbibed for creating better customer experience in an era of IOMD and healthcare.

The last couple of years have seen an increasing demand on university teachers, especially in the developing world, to apply innovations to their instructional delivery to meet students’ needs and cater to national aspirations. To succeed in this, a digital leadership initiative that ensures effective use of technology-mediated instruction is indispensable. This study used the context of Ghana to examine the kinds of digital technology tools university teachers in the developing world often used in their teaching as digital leaders and whether the tools were effective in promoting academic work. The study used the embedded mixed method design based on which 252 teachers of the country’s universities were accidentally selected to complete questionnaires. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study mainly found laptops, mobile phones, and projectors as the commonest digital technology tools used in teaching by the participants, and they thought that the tools effectively promoted academic work. The findings have global implications because knowing the effectiveness of digital technology use in higher education teaching in Ghana could serve as a source of information on measures to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the academic work of HEIs in developing countries.

Smartphone is a wireless having progressed working framework which can be performed like a typical PC. The motivation behind examination is to inspect the behavior factors that impact the administration students to acknowledge Smartphone for learning in partnered colleges of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) in Pune. In this examination, we inspect the determinates of UTAUT model, for example, Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy(EE), Social Influence (SI) and Facilitating Condition (FC) concerning use of Smartphone by the students of Management of (SPPU). The examination is done utilizing polls disseminated to 770 students. The estimating instrument comprised of 15 things. Thing react depended on a 5-point Likert-type scale. The Cronbach's alpha of the survey was 0.980, showing its high inner consistency. Results of logistic regression revealed that the significant items were Facilitating Condition (FC) followed by Performance Expectancy (PE), Social Influence (SI) and Effort Expectancy (EE).
