University education has entered the stage of transformation; therefore, a scientific understanding of the future development paths is required. The purpose of the article is to present the experience of the scientific and pedagogical school of the university in studying the new challenges of society. Transformation of university education relates to such spheres as subjectivity and competence, student’s personality self-determination, the model of interaction between subjects of university education, digital personality socialization in university’s open educational space. The specificity and methodological basis of the study is the axiology of educational innovation. The scientific and pedagogical school fosters the processes of polytechnic university transformation into a multidisciplinary university in the conditions of humanization of engineering education. The article reveals the resources of the scientific and pedagogical activity of the humanitarian section of the university – the research activities of the team of pedagogical departments and the Dissertation Council, the implementation of grant projects and experimental sites of various levels.

The presents the results of a study of the developmental potential of socio-cultural and leisure practices of youth, used in university education to increase educational adaptation and motivation of students. The relevance of the study lies in the identification of new motivational mechanisms that provide more effective educational adaptation and motivation of young people to obtain vocational education. The relevance of the research is confirmed in the substantive discussion of scientists in the field of transformation of cultural and leisure practices and improving the mechanisms of educational motivation in vocational education. The empirical part of the study of the development of educational motivation through socio-cultural and leisure practices, implemented in the university community, was conducted by a questionnaire survey of 458 people from among the students of the Stavropol Territory. The data was processed using the SPSS Statistics program (version 21). Factor analysis was performed by the method of separation of the main components and by the method of rotation – Varimax with Kaiser Normalization. We present the models of socio-cultural activity that contribute to educational adaptation and increase the motivation of professional self-determination and the formation of future specialists.

We are at the beginning of the fourth industrial revolution. The authors understand that university education should embrace the keys to this scenario and do so immediately. Considering this fact, new university teaching should be supported by technological immersion, but also by a culture of proactivity and training in values. The third of these pillars achieves an unimaginable relevance in regards to this emerging industrial revolution, which aims to become the revolution of values. Within this context, the university must move into the practice of ethical values and offer training based on soft skills. Moreover, there is a path that links ethics with soft skills based on the synergy between the two. From this idea, the central objectives of this work are to propose a university model for educational innovation based on values that also includes the tools for its implementation. The chapter ends with a practical case for implementing the model at the fablab that the University of Extremadura has available for its students majoring in Information Technology Engineering.

New virtual learning environments for educational innovation at the university of the present-future--EVAINU--is a research project financed by the Autonomous University of Barcelona as part of its support for emerging research groups. The project came about as a result of the growing presence of the ICTs in the higher education system and has focused on identifying typical cases, which use these media at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) involving some form of curricular innovation or improvement in accordance with the European convergence processes, which the Spanish university system is currently undergoing. As a result, three case studies of different qualifications were carried out in order to investigate their potential for improving university education. One of these cases--Virtual Veterinary Science--is described in this study. Among the preliminary results of this research so far, of particular interest is the fact that while the ICTs are clearly an important opportunity to make a qualitative leap and to go beyond teaching outlooks based on exposition, passive reception, and memorising, more institutional support is necessary in terms of working strategies, which promote new ways of organising teaching, the development of ICT skills among teaching staff and students, and the creation of incentives for teacher training, among other initiatives.

In 2004, The University of Nottingham was the first Sino-Foreign University to open a campus in mainland China. Today, the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China (unnc) campus holds approximately 6,600 students and 500 staff from 40 different countries. Science and Engineering subjects are relatively new on the campus, but are all based on the long standing pedigree at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. In 2012, a newmsc course in Engineering Surveying and Geodesy started atunnc, which was the same as the course in theuk. All the courses atunncare the same in learning outcomes as those on theukcampus, all the teaching is carried out in the medium of English and undergo the same stringent Quality Assurance. The University of Nottingham also has a campus in Malaysia, which makes the university truly global. Students attending any of these campuses have the opportunities of exchange at any of the other two, as well as many other international universities.unncaspires to grow to 8,000 students by 2020, consisting of 20% international students and 15-20% postgraduate students, approximately 40% of which will be within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.This paper details the model used by the University of Nottingham in establishing and operating themsc course and research activities in Engineering Surveying and Geodesy atunnc, and gives a case study of this parallel course.

<p> <em>Emotional intelligence is a contributing construct to learning and other personal and career developments. It is a perplex notion involving many conceptions which resulted in various tools of emotional intelligence. University education is a terminal stage when young people are ready to enter the job arena and are expected to be emotionally sound. Numerous studies have been carried out on the differentiation of emotional intelligence of the learners, particularly at graduate and post-graduate levels. This study is an attempt to investigate emotional intelligence of the university students. Since there are differences in the findings of various studies in terms of gender; therefore, this study also considers to explore the discrepancy of the emotional cognizance of the male and female learners at university level. The target participants of this investigation were the students of all five faculties of a university in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, a province in Pakistan. The Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) developed by Wong and Law (2002) was used for data collection. The outcomes of the investigation showed that female learners were ahead of male in emotional intelligence. Further, the learners of business and economics had superior level of emotional intelligence, while students of Arts and Humanities had inferior level of emotional intelligence. The study put forward some valuable suggestions, particularly through curricula enhancement and for further research activities.</em></p>

Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 concepts are actively developing all over the world. The accelerating transition to Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 sets new requirements for the university education system in qualifications and competencies of engineering universities graduates. The article reveals the possibilities of using cognitive models in the professional training of research engineers for new industries. Authors used the modeling method for creating a cognitive and metacognitive model of the process. It can be used for the development of forming the optimal structure of higher professional engineering education. The article substantiates that the main tasks of modernization of pedagogical approaches in modern education, is to establish the compliance of educational products with the labor market requirements and transform the structure of vocational education, providing training for professional specialists required by specific employers. Conclusions are drawn about the important role of soft skills for engineering education in Industry 4.0. The results obtained in the study can be used for the engineering category of students.
