E-society – a financial and event management system, a web based application which leverage waterfall development model for managing the financial operations typically done in a house society and also provides the facility to create, organize and prioritize events and raise funds for the same. At present these details were maintained in a spreadsheet, and it has its own issues when comes to calculations, human introduced data error, missing required precession etc. Due to the manual maintenance of financial records, getting a spending report is become too tedious and difficult to extract in a given amount of time. This system is exclusively used by a small group or an organization allows people to keep track of the transaction between members of the society, admin and the workers working for that organization or society. By using this we can reduce the manual calculations and human errors while computation of expenditure. The system allows the retrieving and updating facilities to authorized persons. To bring in the transparency in expenses of the society’s funds, the application allows every user to generate a report to know about the expenses and funds collected between a given date range.

Abstract. The automatic identification of the source of a contamination is an important component of an early warning and event management system for security enhancement of water supply networks. Whilst a number of algorithms have been published on the algorithmic development, only few information exists about the integration within a comprehensive real-time Event Detection and Management System. In the following the analytical solution and the software implementation of a real-time source identification module and its integration within a web-based Event Management System is described. The development was part of the project SAFEWATER, which was funded under FP 7 of the European Commission.

The book data information system at the Aceh Provincial Language Center still uses conventional methods in book data collection. The large number of printed manuscripts that were entered and the transaction process caused many difficulties in controlling bookkeeping. In addition, data processing also takes a long time. From the background description, the authors define the problem only in how the E-library Database Management System at the Aceh Provincial Language Headquarters and the design of the E-library Database Management System at the Aceh Province Language Center Office are web-based. The purpose of the discussion is to find out the E-library Database Management System at the Aceh Provincial Language Headquarters and to design a web-based E-library Database Management System at the Aceh Province Language Headquarters. For the perfection of this report, the authors collected data using several data collection methods, including using field studies and literature studies. The E-library Database Management System makes it easy for the Aceh Provincial Language Headquarters to evaluate the handling of e-libraries and with this application, it can overcome problems that exist at the Aceh Provincial Language Head Office because it speeds up reporting and reduces human errors.

This study examines the design process of a blended learning environment using a learning management system to transform Basic English courses into the web-based distance learning format in the School of Foreign Languages at a large scale research university in Turkey. The research design was based on design-based research and the ASSURE, which is an instructional design model. A design plan was created based on the needs indicated by the analysis, and the necessary materials were developed and transferred to the learning management system. A usability test of the environment was conducted for increasing efficiency of environment, facilitating learning, increasing productivity and making the environment more user-friendly. As a result, an environment was designed where instructors can create the desired multimedia materials (videos, exercises, quizzes). Students can access these materials, discuss with each other and instructor (chat, discussion) and assess their learning outcomes (weekly homework, quizzes, games).

This study investigates how L2 beginner level students perceive written feedback from teachers on samples of their writing. It centers on beginner learners (of which very little research exists) and covers two broad areas of feedback: Focus and Manner. Focus refers to the kind of areas the teachers concentrate on in their comments, e.g. content, while Manner refers to different ways of delivering feedback, e.g. suggestions. The data was collected from a web-based course in Swedish for immigrants in an online Learning Management System. A questionnaire was used where the students evaluated feedback categories on a Likert scale and thereafter, ranked the same categories. Ranking, where different feedback categories are related to each other, has not been found in previous studies on feedback in the field of second language research. The results show that the students take feedback seriously. A large majority of students chose feedback on grammar as their first priority. They generally valued all feedback manners, but clearly preferred specific praise and specific criticism. I then discuss the conclusions and pedagogical implications based on web-based learning contexts. In particular, I emphasize the importance of establishing a dialogue between students and teachers which enables an orientation towards new understanding.
