A concept in Wille’s context can be generated starting with a set of features. The problem of finding a minimal subset of the given set of features that generates the same concept as the given one is solved using a suitable dependence space and constructing reducts of one of its subsets. This result can be applied to information systems where it enables to cancel superfluous values of attributes.

The article analyzes the functions of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine and its information systems. It is determined that the modernization of the components of the integrated information system causes a violation of the existing system of cyber defense. The analysis of existing approaches to ensuring the protection of information in information systems has shown a sufficiently deep study of research separately for each information system. However, unexperienced features of the interaction of these systems remain, in particular, with the modernization of certain information systems in terms of providing cyber defense in general. The process of modernization of information systems is carried out according to individual components of the system or complex and requires their coordination in the process of joint operation. The article gives the justification of modernization strategies according to the groups of criteria: the level of cyber security, the peculiarities of the functioning of information systems. It is noted that the value of the probability of violating the properties of the information resource varies over the entire period of modernization. Therefore, to choose the strategy of modernization at the value of probability at any time is not correct. It is necessary to take into account the general tendency of the function of changing this probability. The most expedient is the distribution of this group of criteria into three components of the criteria for the level of cyber security: the normative - the criterion in which the current value of the probability of violating cybersecurity does not exceed the given; average - the criterion for which the average probability of a violation of cybersecurity does not exceed the prescribed; weighted - a criterion for which the average weighted probability of cybersecurity violation will not exceed the given. The article presents functional dependencies for determining the probability of cyber security violations for each of the groups. As a result of the study, it was determined that the priority indicator of the effectiveness of the process of modernizing the information systems of the border agency is the maximum value of the probability of violating the properties of information in the process of modernization

This paper focuses on assessing the crisis preparedness of healthcare facilities as a new module of crisis management information systems. The crisis is widespread around the world, and it is essential that the medical facility is ready. The first part of the thesis deals with the introduction to the given issue and the crisis preparedness of the population. The second part of the paper deals with the analysis of extraordinary events and crisis situations around the world. The impact of emergencies on healthcare facilities is described in this part. The third part of the thesis deals with the emergency survival of the population. The following part describes the methods used in this research. The heuristic analysis of preparedness is one of the most valuable methods. The next section presents the results of the work according to the chosen method. In this section, we will find the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluated medical facilities. At the end of the thesis is proposed a new module for evaluation of medical facilities. This module can be applied as part of crisis management information systems.

A set Y of attributes of an information system is said to be dependent on a set X of attributes if the classification of objects defined by X is finer or as fine as the classification defined by Y. An important problem reads as follows. If Y depends on X find a minimal X ′ ⊆ X such that Y depends on X ′ . A set X ′ is said to be a reduct of X if X ′ is a minimal subset of X defining the same classification of objects as X. The paper is devoted to the study of relationship between reducts and dependence. Both dependence and reducts can be defined in the so called dependence spaces and the above mentioned problem can be transformed into the problem of constructing reducts in a suitable dependence space. We also present some algorithms providing reducts in a dependence space; in this way, we obtain an algorithmic solution of our problem.

Nowadays the analysis of literary text goes beyond its linear perusal, it requires its structural comprehension, correlation of primary and scientific interpretation. Modern automated information systems suggest wide opportunities for getting original scientific material. The article attempts to analyze the story «Crank» («Chudik») by V.M. Shuckshin in comparison with the writer’s other works by using the NCRL instrument. The notion «National Corpus of the Russian Language» is discovered as well as its purpose. While analyzing the composition, the following levels of analyses were taken into account — the text title and character’s names (their expressions), concepts, details, characteristics of literary world, intertextuality. The results of the given literary studies with NCRL can be later applied at Literature lessons at school and for different types of literary texts analyses

Objective: To obtain analytic dependences for profile cubage volume calculation of subgrades (side hill fills), ditch cuts (side hill cuts), as well as borrow pits, soil banks, drainage ditches and other structures. Methods: Integral calculus and stereometry was applied. Results: New analytic dependencies for profile cubage volume calculation of subgrades (side hill fills), ditch cuts (side hill cuts), borrow pits, soil banks and drainage ditches were deducted. Relative errors of calculating the given profile cubage volume were determined in comparison with conventional methods for calculating the values in question. Mathematical demonstration of the given analytic dependencies, as well as the analysis of the latter was carried out. Practical importance: Computational accuracy of profile cubage volume of subgrades (side hill fills), ditch cuts (side hill cuts), borrow pits, soil banks and drainage ditches may be improved based on the examined dependencies. Research results may be applied in the design of information systems. The latter promptly implement the introduced analytic dependencies of more effective calculation indices and test planning of large earthwork volumes.

This paper proposes a novel local texture description method which defines six human visual perceptual characteristics and selects the minimal subset of relevant as well as nonredundant features based on principal component analysis (PCA). We assign six texture characteristics, which were originally defined by Tamura et al., with novel definition and local metrics so that these measurements reflect the human perception of each characteristic more precisely. Then, we propose a PCA-based feature selection method exploiting the structure of the principal components of the feature set to find a subset of the original feature vector, where the features reflect the most representative characteristics for the textures in the given image dataset. Experiments on different publicly available large datasets demonstrate that the proposed method provides superior performance of classification over most of the state-of-the-art feature description methods with respect to accuracy and efficiency.

A particularly difficult, but important, challenge in the design and development of contemporary information systems is dealing with complexity. Although complexity has been richly discussed from various perspectives in the literature, there is limited guidance on how to address complexity in information systems design. This research analyzes different approaches to handling complexity and finds that there exists a plurality of ways in which to address complexity that are dependent upon the given situation. This analysis results in the derivation of a framework for addressing complexity in information systems. The framework explicitly recognizes implications and limitations of decomposition, inner-outer environments, abstractions, and decentralization, and the role of Ontology. Application of the framework is intended to enable information researchers to identify and adapt applicable strategies for managing complexity in any domain.

<p class="Abstract"><span lang="EN-US">The main purpose of this work is to establish and analyze the perception that students of the Degree in Industrial Engineering (GIOI) have about the subject Integrated Information Systems (IIS) in relation to the Task Value, and how this perception varies by taking a subject of the subject-matter analyzed. To achieve the objective, two surveys have been carried out on the students of the subject “Integrated Information Systems in Industrial Organizations” of GIOI. The first survey was passed to the students at the beginning of the course, prior to taking the classes of the subject. The survey was repeated at the end of the course, once the subject was completed, to see the changes in the assessment of the students. GIOI Students have a relatively low initial assessment of IIS subject, especially when compared to other subjects of the degree. However, after taking a subject in this area, its relative assessment increases, and its perception of Utility and Cost improves significantly. The course gets the students to perceive the IIS as something key for their future work. This did not happen before the course. Consequently, it can be concluded that taking the subject changes positively the perception of the students about IIS. Once this result is obtained and validated that it is positive, the research should deepen in which activities, contents or methodologies of the course help to achieve this result, with the objective of enhancing them with respect to those that are not so effective. This work allows teachers to find out the students' perception of a particular matter-subject, and its variation after taking a subject in that matter-subject. With this information, it will be possible to design and carry out the most appropriate teaching-learning actions to the given situation, to develop, as far as possible, a deep learning of the subject.</span></p>
