Vultures are considered as an important indicator of a healthy environment, and they play a vital ecological role as scavengers. The present study was designed to estimate the health of critically endangered Gyps bengalensis in Changa Manga, Lahore, using a technique that does not require drawing blood. Fecal matter of seven pairs were examined and analyzed for protozoan or helminth infections. Gross examination involved checking consistency and color of feces, presence of blood in feces and gross parasites. Obtained samples had different colors and consistency but no blood was found in them. Pair 1 was infested with oocytes, but in pairs 5 and 6 only males were infested, while the female was infested in pair 7. Pair 2, 3, and 4 was completely healthy. Gram staining was also performed to assess the presence or absence of bacteria culture in digestive tracks of Gyps bengalensis. All pairs were infected with either gram positive or negative except Pair 5 which was negative for all gram staining. The present work introduced a technique to assess the health of vultures without drawing blood samples, a process that causes disturbances to their life cycle.

Possible factors that play a role in restoring a flow regime that supports a healthy environment were identified for Wadi Zomar, Palestine. The hydrograph shows that threshold discharges for bed drying are less than 0.14 m3/s, bar formation is less than 0.4 ms/s and floodplain inundation events are over 3 m3/s. The HEC-RAS model suggests a continuous discharge throughout the year that maintains the base flow in the range of 0.5 m3/s. The model suggests that the restoration process is controlled by two main factors: role of sufficient flow and flood inundation frequency

Health assessment of the girder is crucial to an overhead traveling crane. This paper presents an intelligent damage identification method for the girder based on stiffness variation index (SVI) and least squares support vector machine (LSSVM). In the method, the SVI indicators, which have high resolution to environmental noise, serve as the damage feature to detect damage locations. Moreover, the SVI indicators are input to the LSSVM classifier for identifying the actual damage level of the girder. A case study on girder damage identification demonstrates that the method could determine the actual conditions of the girder structure accurately.

<p><strong>Objective</strong>: The  purpose  of  this  case  study  was  to  analyze  the  oral  hygiene intervention performed by  nurse  in  stroke  hemorrhagic  patient  in  neurological  ward</p><p> </p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> .Oral hygiene interventions were performed by using 0.2% chlorhexidine twice daily for seven days. This case study used oral health assessment tool (OHAT) which the measurements were taken before and after the intervention every day</p><p> </p><p><strong>Results</strong>: There was a decrease in oral hygiene assessment score from 9 to 1 which implied an improvement in oral hygiene condition. This study also showed that family of stroke patient was able to perform oral hygiene practice to the patient after simulation performed firstly by nurses</p><p> </p><p><strong>Conclusion</strong>: The study recommends that oral hygiene by using 0.2% chlorhexidine needs to be delivered routinely by nurses and continues by the family at home care.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: chlorhexidine 0.2%, oral hygiene, stroke.</p>

Firmness is an important indicator of fruit quality. The devices for on-site fruit firmness measurement need to be portable, low-cost, lightweight, reliable, and flexible. Existing portable devices can provide firmness-related parameters, but their measurement results cannot be converted to each other. Their measurement results are also susceptible to operator error due to the manual measurement process. To solve this problem, a prototype handheld device was developed based on sensing fruit resistance to achieve automatic on-site firmness measurement of fruit with edible peel and provide commonly used firmness-related parameters. The prototype’s precision was verified by analyzing the repeatability and reproducibility of the measurement results with four Shore hardness blocks. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of the results obtained by the same operator were less than 0.61%, and there was no significant difference among the results obtained by different operators (p &lt; 0.05), which indicated that the prototype could provide reliable measurement results. A case study of peaches was performed, and the results showed that (1) the prototype had better performance than a commercial penetrometer, (2) two commonly used firmness-related parameters could be predicted based on regression models between a texture analyzer and the prototype readings (R2P = 0.908 and RMSEP = 4.191 N for maximum force; R2P = 0.923 and RMSEP = 1.613 N mm-1 for initial slope), (3) changes in the prototype readings for peaches during growth corresponded with the growth characteristics, and (4) the distribution and changes of peach firmness over time could be visualized based on 3D models of the prototype readings.
