Increasing competition in the hospitality industry, making hotels should increase the advantage in competing. An important part of improving the competitive advantage of hotels is to set, measure and allocate accurately the costs to be efficient. Cost efficient will help managers to make decisions so as to increase the occupancy rate of hotels that ultimately impact on profit. Researchers conducted research on the Hotel "X" located in the city of Surabaya where this hotel is one of the oldest four-star hotel in the city of Surabaya. Determination of the cost as the cost of room rental at Hotel "X" is still using the traditional method of the cost of renting each room on the same "X" Hotel. The purpose of this study is to know the application of Activity Based Costing (ABC) method in the calculation of service fee and the determination of the hotel room rental price "X". The technique of data analysis performed is to analyze the traditional method that is being used by Hotel "X" and compare with ABC method. The results of this study is the calculation of the cost of room rental using ABC method is more accurate when compared with traditional methods. Hotel "X" should consider undercost in the cost of room rental so that the hotel does not suffer long-term losses resulting in earnings.

Cost is an important factor in ensuring the company win in the competition on the market. Consumers will choose a manufacturer that is able to produce products and services that have high quality with low prices. Costs of Management Systems Contemporary emphasis on search than the allocation. And management based activities are at the heart of contemporary operating control system. At least two major factors that must be considered in the selection of cost driver (cost driver) are: the cost of measurement and the degree of correlation between the consumption cost driver with the actual overhead. Cost driver is divided into two categories, namely the structural cost driver and executional cost driver. Cost driver is the basis used to charge collected on cost pool to the product. So that the calculation of the cost through Time Driven activity-based costing system, the company obtain more precise information and accurate.

The present research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach by using primary based on the expenditure of factors of production by farmers. The result pointed out the expenditure until harvest is equivalent to the cost from harvest to sold out, so by using ABC, production cost that is a baseline to determine BEP will be decreased by efficiency in cost, eliminating several activities, and timing to plant before dry seasons.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Harga BEP komoditas tembakau Madura berdasarkan activity based costing (ABC). Background: The result of the morbidity report at 2001, shown that dental and oral health in Indonesia is still become public complaint, it is around 60%, such as dental caries and periodontal disease. Dental public health effort to date has yet to be run with optimal due to various constraints, including: limitations of the power, the means of operating costs as well as social and economic conditions of society. Considering these constraints have developed a model of services in the form of a layered service (level of care) according to existing resources, in the form of Primary Health Care (PHC). But this time the tariff is determined by hospitals, especially the private hospitals are still considered high by most of society. In determining the cost of products as the basis for determining the price of the hospital sometimes still use traditional accounting systems that pricing anyway no longer reflects the activity because of the many categories that are not direct. The main difference between the calculation of the product cost of goods of traditional cost accounting by activity-based costing is the amount of cost driver (trigger) is used. In the determination of cost of products with activity-based costing uses the cost drivers in the sum more than in traditional cost accounting systems that use only one or two cost drivers based on the unit. Objective: To determine the differences between determination of dental and oral health service tariff by using Activity Based Cost System and traditional method. Methods: This research was a case study research and how to collect data from the financial reporting RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul about patient visits for examination in dental health polyclinic. Results: The results of this research were the determination of the tariff model of oral health services by using Activity-Based Cost systems, as well as a comparison between traditional fare tariffs and tariff system for Activity Based Cost System. Keywords: tariff, dental and oral health, Primary Health Care, activity based costing, cost driver.

The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge about the determination of rates of hospitalization services using activity based costing, can be used as reference in setting tariffs inpatient services at Rumah Sakit Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang and as means comparison with the rates of hospitalization for this set, as well as being one of that input provide information about activity based costing, especially in its application to a hospital that is the main orientation of community service. The method of analysis used descriptive method is to use the comparative analysis of the current hospital rates, set the cost method is based on activity based costing, and then compare the hospitalization rates based on activity based costing with its realization. The results showed that the calculation of hospitalization rates by using activity based costing, when compared with the rates used by the hospital activity based costing provides greater results for Class, IIB, PICU, dan BBRT and yields smallaer for class UTAMA, IA, IB,II, IIA, III dan R.BAYI. This is because the overhead loading on each product. On activity based costing, overhead costs for each product are charged to costs a lot of drivers. ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to examine the applicability of Time Driver Activity Bassed Costing (TDABC) in the calculation of the cost of production at manufacturing companies. A qualitative research design with a case study approach has been carried out on the production of RIO bottled drinking water (AMDK), a business unit of the BUMN Employees Cooperative in Gresik, for this test. Time drivers have provided solutions to the difficulty of implementing the ABC method in calculating the cost of production, due to the diversity of activity drivers. TDABC does not change the ABC method as a whole, but only simplifies the determination of activity drivers by time drivers. TDABC which is applied in the calculation of the cost of goods manufactured at a manufacturing company can produce a cost calculation of production costs that is more accurate than the calculation of the cost of production using the traditional method, because it has distributed overhead costs to each product based on the activity consumed by the product measured in units of time . More further research is needed on the application of TDABC in manufacturing companies, so that the difficulties of applying this method can be identified and solutions can be found. Keywords: TDABC, calculation, manufacturing, accurate.

Speedy improvements in cost accounting since the 1960s have been noticed, particularly after the 1980s, in the percentage of total cost, overhead costs have increased. The problem of overhead allocation was faced by several companies and a disparity between the available methods of overhead allocation was developed. Because of skewed facts about the viability of their orders, goods and clients, traditional cost accounting (TCA) not anymore represents the actual economic reality. Consequently, in the moment of increasingly growing material liquidity and ambiguity, a new costing approach is needed to address the weakness of TCA. The goal of the study is to establish a new costing structure using activity based costing (ABC) method to the magnetic inductor for better precision. The case study is located at electronic industry in Pahang, Malaysia. ABC reports on the costs of manufacturing, selling or funding the goods used in the operations. The job was done correctly by the operator to accomplish the entire mission. The maximum time used by operators is at epoxy application activity which is 44.04% and the smallest is 0.64% at oven curing and boundary inspection activity. The highest amount of cost of capacity is epoxy application activity with MYR 1,665,600.00 and the quantity of material utilized is selected as the cost driver. Since the product required volume is up to 10%, production costs are expected to increase by MYR 4,160,614.85 while the unit product cost is forecast at MYR 0.79. Therefore, ABC is an cost management insightful process and cost control efficient approach.
