Stock return is one indicator to show the performance of banks in Indonesia. This study aimed to empirically examine the effect of return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), non-performing loans (NPL), and operating expenses to operating revenues on stock returns on commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) years 2016-2018. For this reason, as many as 15 banks that meet the criteria were taken as samples in this study. The collected data were then analyzed using multiple regression analysis to test the proposed hypotheses. Several findings in this study indicated that each element, namely returns on assets, return on equity, non-performing loans, and operating expenses to operating revenues, respectively, had a significant effect on stock returns. Based on these findings, it was recommended that banking companies could manage financial ratios optimally to maximize stock return.

This study aims to determine the effect of liquidity, solvency and profitability on stock prices. The research was conducted at PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk during the period of 2004 - 2018. Through a multiple regression analysis, the effect of liquidity, solvency and profitability was investigated by measuring current ratio, debt to equity ratio, and return on assets effects on stock prices. The findings reveal that changes in liquidity, profitability, and solvency are able to explain the changes being occurred on the share price of PT Telkom Indonesia during the period. Out of the three determinants, profitability performance is the only determinant that has a significant impact on stock price. These findings indicate that profitability performance becomes one factor that is most considered by investors in making investment decisions. The results showed that in partial EPS significantly effects stock price, while CR, ROE, DER, and TATO had not significantly effect the stock price. Adjusted R square value was 0,5040 which showed that CR, DER, TATO, ROE, and EPS influenced the dependent variable by 50,40%, while the remaining 49,6% was influenced by other variables. Multiple regression analysis and moderated regression analysis were used to test the hypotesis in this study. The results of multiple regression analysis show that Return on Asset (ROA) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) influence the income smoothing. Meanwhile, Net Profit Margin (NPM) does not influence the income smoothing. The result of moderated regression analysis shows that the proportion of women does not moderate the effect of Return on Asset (ROA), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Net Profit Margin (NPM) on income smoothing. Those could happen because very women are sit in the Board of Directors of the firms in Indonesia. Keywords: Income Smoothing, Return on Asset (ROA), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Net profit Margin (NPM).
