Rural-spatial restructuring involves the spatial mapping of the current rural development process. The transformation of land-use morphologies, directly or indirectly, affects the practice of rural restructuring. Analyzing this process in terms of the dominant morphology and recessive morphology is helpful for better grasping the overall picture of rural-spatial restructuring. Accordingly, this paper took Zhulin Town in Central China as a case study area. We propose a method for studying rural-spatial restructuring based on changes in the dominant and recessive morphologies of land use. This process was realized by analyzing the distribution and functional suitability of ecological-production-living (EPL) spaces based on land-use types, data on land-use changes obtained over a 30-year observation period, and in-depth research. We found that examining rural-spatial restructuring by matching the distribution of EPL spaces with their functional suitability can help to avoid the misjudgment of the restructuring mode caused by the consideration of the distribution and structural changes in quantity, facilitating greater understanding of the process of rural-spatial restructuring. Although the distribution and quantitative structure of Zhulin’s EPL spaces have changed to differing degrees, ecological- and agricultural-production spaces still predominate, and their functional suitability has gradually increased. The spatial distribution and functional suitability of Zhulin are generally well matched, with 62.5% of the matched types being high-quality growth, and the positive effect of Zhulin’s spatial restructuring over the past 30 years has been significant. We found that combining changes in EPL spatial area and quantity as well as changes in functional suitability is helpful in better understanding the impact of the national macro-policy shift regarding rural development. Sustaining the positive spatial restructuring of rural space requires the timely adjustment of local actors in accordance with the needs of macroeconomic and social development, and a good rural-governance model is essential.

<p>The development of industrial areas in villages can have many positive socio-economic effects. Results of studies indicate an improvement in the living conditions of villagers after the establishment of industrial areas in villages. Establishment of industrial estates in different provinces of the country has been followed by numerous environmental, economic, social, and physical effects on the region, especially the rural community. Thus, the present study seeks to do a case study concerning the effects of Binaloud Industrial Estate on the sustainability of rural settlements in Ahmadabad district of Mashhad city while considering the place and importance of industrial estates in rural areas. This research is an applied study in terms of purpose, whose results can be used in planning. For measuring the effects of industrial estates, three economic, social and environmental dimensions have been taken into account, which have been evaluated by multiple questions in the questionnaire. Thus, of 58 villages existing in Ahmadabad district of Mashhad city where Binaloud Industrial Estate has been located (research statistical population), 42 villages were selected. To determine the number of sample villages, demographic factor (villages with more than 100 inhabitants) was used. Then, considering the factor of distance dimension and access to Binaloud Industrial Estate, 10 villages were selected out of 42 villages and were used as the population of the research sample. Based on Cochran formula, unlimited population size is used to determine the sample size. Accordingly, the sample size was obtained to be 279. The sample size of each village has been calculated with regard to the proportion of the size of households in each village. In order to compare the average of respondents’ opinions regarding the effect of industrial estates on the sustainability of rural settlements, comparison of the average of this variable (including three economic, social and environmental dimensions) was done with the aid of t-test with number 3 (medium), whose results indicated that p-value divided by 2 of this test is lower than 0.05 and t-statistic is positive (16.732). Hence, it can be concluded that the creation of industrial estates is effective in the sustainability of rural settlements; that is, the research hypothesis is approved with 95% confidence. Ultimately, the impact of the industrial estate on the studied villages is greater in the social and economic dimensions, and in the environmental dimension, the industrial estate has had a significant impact on only 3 villages (Avareshk, Seidabad and Fakhr Davoud). </p>

Mining activities, in combination with accelerated urbanization growth and climate change, constitutes a major challenge for creating a sustainable development. Thus, the monitoring and assessment of mining effect is mandatory in understanding the impact on the primary physico-chemical characteristics of an environment. In this context, the paper presents the evolution of micro- and macro- nutrients in water, soil and sediment from two industrial areas from Romania (Copșa Mică industrial platform and Baia Sprie mining zone), in order to assess the impact of pollutants on ecosystems. Physico-chemical (pH, NH4+, NO3-, NO2-, TN, TP), base cations (Ca, Mg, Na and K) and micronutrients (Fe, Mn and Zn) have been analyzed in order to evaluate the quality of the environment. For some of the analyzed soils, the concentration of Zn, Mn and Fe exceeded the maximum permissible limits (MPL) imposed by the Romanian legislation, falling within the limit for Alert Thresholds for less sensitive soils. The correlation analysis on water quality parameters revealed that all parameters are more or less correlated with each other Person’s Correlation matrix. Overall, our results demonstrated that the knowledge of the physico-chemical regime of an environment is of great value in the determination of its productivity, usefulness and other characteristics which can facilitate further vegetation restoration and reconstruction and a sustainable development of the ecological environment in a polluted area.

Solid waste is a global, regional and national problem. Lebanon is not isolated and far away from this problem. Lebanese state since the beginning did not work to find a scientific effective permanent lasting solution to this problem. Every day all media broadcast about solid waste problems, especially in the region of Sidon and Tyre caza. The file of solid waste management (collecting-transporting-disposal) is exhausting municipalities’ financial resources instead of investing these funds in implementing rural development programs, which TYRE caza fiercely needs. Development represents the most challenging aspect for all countries of the world, whether they are developed or developing countries. In addition, development in its concept and application, whether it was sustainable development, local, rural, urban, became the focal attention of states governments alike, whether those countries are developed or developing countries. For that purpose, those countries have established ministries and research centers to take care of development and even to add university degree related to development.Lebanon has not follow this track, neither in the formulation of designed ministry for development nor in the adding of university specialized degree, also the academic literature, who deals in the subject of development. “Limited number of institutions involved in rural development such as , the establishment of kafalat cooperation, a new investment law that establish the autonomous investment development authority of Lebanon (IDAL), the provision of subsidized credit through a central bank facility, signing trade agreements to expand and liberalize trade with Lebanon’s partners” E/ESCWA/2007/WG.5 26OCTOBER 2007.The research will focus on the concepts of rural development, rural area, analyze the impact of expenditure on solid waste on rural development in TYRE caza.

Abstract Because of its specific, industrial space, a challenge from the planning stage to the design stage is constituted. Proper zoning of this space has positive effects on the industrial function, spatial exposure and environmental impact. Proper creation of industrial areas means the impact of these processes on a macro scale. Local government authorities have the most important influence on the formation of industrial areas, which are necessary for the functioning and economic development of a region. The right regional development policy is what places the industrial space in symbiosis with areas of a different purpose. The most important is the selection of an appropriate space - an enclave, where this specific function can exist and be developed without affecting the surroundings, which may be the adjacent urban space. Due to its specifics, locating of industrial areas has a fundamental role in these multifaceted processes. Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park (BPPT) is the biggest industrial area in the district and one of the biggest industrial and technological parks in Poland. As city authorities say “According to the independent report of the World Bank “Doing Business in Poland 2015”, Bydgoszcz is the best city for investment. The potential of the Park and his rapid development are found disregarding not only amongst investors, but also amongst other operators receiving the BPPT infrastructure.” Referred to the above, there are several important questions. How do these assumptions relate to the industrial zone if an urban area is in the close neighbourhood? How should the development of industrial spaces look like, so that it does not adversely affect urban living space? How do the above assumptions refer to the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park (BPPT)? The matrix presented in the article compares the general assumptions of the interactions of industrial processes and their application for the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park.

Abstract Real estate compared to other goods is distinguished by a high specificity. One of the signs of these specifics is the interdependence or correlation between property and its surroundings. On the one hand, the factor of closest neighborhood can largely shape the value of the property, while on the other hand, the function, use and development of real estate can strongly affect nearby property and the image of their entire neighborhood. The dynamics of the interdependence between the property and its environment reveal themselves most clearly in moments of transformation of real estate and its use. This study has a research character. The focus of this article is one of the aspects of interdependence - the impact of the property, its use and development on its closest surroundings. The aim of this article is to show the manifestations of different types of external effects generated by the property. Case study research was conducted on the housing market in Lodz for the purpose of the article. The study included the analysis of 3,444 transactions made during the period from July 2005 to December 2009 in the area of 27 precincts representing the proximal and distal environment of the Manufaktura complex. The study analyzed the impact of the transformation from a post-industrial area into a multifunctional one, with the dominant function of trade, on the prices and marketability of apartments located in the vicinity of the complex. The performed analyses have not clearly confirmed the impact of the carried out transformations on the price of housing in areas surrounding the Manufaktura complex. However, the analyses did reveal that the proximity of the multifunction complex may be one of the factors influencing the activity of the housing market in the area.
