The low ability of mathematical communication at SMP Negeri 1 Way Bungur, East Lampung is due to various factors, including the assumption that mathematics is complicated, a lack of curiosity about mathematics, and a lack of variation in learning models, so that students still tend to be passive. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical communication skills of students who use the Islamic-nuanced Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach better than ordinary learning. The research method used is a quantitative method using the Quasi-Experimental Design method. The data collection techniques used in the study were: documentation, tests in the form of essay questions to determine the effect of the Islamic-nuanced Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach to improve mathematical communication skills. This study indicates an increase in the mathematical communication skills of students who are given an Islamic approach to Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) with ordinary learning. Increasing students' mathematical communication skills with the Islamic-nuanced Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach is better than regular learning. So it can be concluded that the Islamic-nuanced Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach can improve mathematical communication skills compared to ordinary learning.

This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) to improve students' multi-representation ability. A quasi-experimental design was used in this research. Sixty-four samples from the seventh-grade students of Junior School were randomly selected and divided into two classes: experimental class was treated using RME and control class was treated using conventional learning, with each class consisting of thirty-two students. The essay test was used to measure the multi-representation ability of students and the questionnaire was used to measure students' responses in RME learning. The data from the essay test were analyzed by N-Gain test and t-test in which normality and homogenity test were conducted previously, while the students' learning completeness and student responses were presented descriptive quantitative. The result of the research concluded that the multi-representation ability of students who get RME learning is better than the multi-representation ability in students who get conventional learning. 87.25% of students who get RME learning with the developed device have completed the KKM, and many students are very enthusiastic and interested in RME based learning, thus increasing their learning spirit in a learning process.

This study aims to analyze how the ability of mathematical communication and Self Efficacy by using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in junior high school students. The research method used is quasi-experimental using two classes, first class as experiment class and second class as control class. The experimental class uses the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach while the control class uses conventional learning. In both classes, pretest and initial questionnaire were conducted to determine the initial ability of each class, and at the end of the two classes postest. The results of this study were processed and analyzed using Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that communication skills and self-efficacy of students whose learning using Realistic Mathematics education are better than those using conventional learning.

Mathematics communication is a way of sharing ideas and clarifying comprehension. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve mathematical communication skills. The student worksheet is used because it is shorter, more comfortable and summarizes the material along with the questions to be able to assist students in the ability of mathematics communication. This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of student worksheets based on Realistic Mathematics Education Approach to improve students' mathematical communication skills. This research is development research with ADDIE development model, that is analysis, design, develop, evaluation implementation. The subject of this research is the students of the first grade of VII. Instruments used in the form of validation sheet, mathematics communication ability test, and interview guidance manual. The validation sheet is addressed to material experts and media experts. The test to determine students 'mathematical communication skills is done before and after the use of student worksheet so that it is known whether there is an increase in students' mathematical communication ability. Interview guides are conducted with teachers and students to find out the curricula and character of students in the school. Data analysis techniques in this study using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The resulting student worksheet design based on the RME approach that matches the characteristics, curriculum, and student tasks. This research can be developed to the stage of development, implementation, and evaluation.

This research was conducted to see the extent of students' understanding of concepts and mathematical communication after being treated with learning using the RME and CTL approaches. The approach used in this research is quantitative with a type of quasi-experimental research. The population as well as the sample in this study were 2 classes with a total of 70 XI MAS PAB 2 Medan Estate students. Next to find out the understanding of concepts and mathematical communication students are given a description test. To process the data obtained using ANACOVA; The results of the data analysis test concluded: the level of understanding of the concepts of students who were treated with the RME approach was lower in influence than students who were treated with the CTL approach. The mathematical communication of students who were treated with the RME approach was less influential than students who were treated with the CTL approach. The level of understanding of mathematical concepts and communication of students who were treated with the RME learning approach was lower in influence than students who were treated with the CTL learning approach. Data analysis concluded that there was an interaction effect of applying the learning approach to students' understanding of concepts and mathematical communication.
