Organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) based on dioctylbenzothienobenzothiophene (C8BTBT) and copper (Cu) electrodes were fabricated. For improving the electrical performance of the original devices, the different modifications were attempted to insert in three different positions including semiconductor/electrode interface, semiconductor bulk inside and semiconductor/insulator interface. In detail, 4,4′,4′′-tris[3-methylpheny(phenyl)amino] triphenylamine (m-MTDATA) was applied between C8BTBTand Cu electrodes as hole injection layer (HIL). Moreover, the fluorinated copper phthalo-cyanine (F16CuPc) was inserted in C8BTBT/SiO2 interface to form F16CuPc/C8BTBT heterojunction or C8BTBT bulk to form C8BTBT/F16CuPc/C8BTBT sandwich configuration. Our experiment shows that, the sandwich structured OTFTs have a significant performance enhancement when appropriate thickness modification is chosen, comparing with original C8BTBT devices. Then, even the low work function metal Cu was applied, a normal p-type operate-mode C8BTBT-OTFT with mobility as high as 2.56 cm2/Vs has been fabricated.

A lot of research has been done in the field of cloud computing in computing domain.  For its effective performance, variety of algorithms has been proposed. The role of virtualization is significant and its performance is dependent on VM Migration and allocation. More of the energy is absorbed in cloud; therefore, the utilization of numerous algorithms is required for saving energy and efficiency enhancement in the proposed work. In the proposed work, green algorithm has been considered with meta heuristic algorithms, ABC (Artificial Bee colony .Every server has to perform different or same functions. A cloud computing infrastructure can be modelled as Primary Machineas a set of physical Servers/host PM1, PM2, PM3… PMn. The resources of cloud infrastructure can be used by the virtualization technology, which allows one to create several VMs on a physical server or host and therefore, lessens the hardware amount and enhances the resource utilization. The computing resource/node in cloud is used through the virtual machine. To address this problem, data centre resources have to be managed in resource -effective manner for driving Green Cloud computing that has been proposed in this work using Virtual machine concept with ABC and Neural Network optimization algorithm. The simulations have been carried out in CLOUDSIM environment and the parameters like SLA violations, Energy consumption and VM migrations along with their comparison with existing techniques will be performed.

Among the measures aimed at the effective performance of public services in a modern urban environment, one of the main is the quality control and efficiency of the work performed. Timely street cleaning is hampered by several groups of problems, including the lack of a single automated information system (AIS) control of the work performed. In this regard, there is a need to improve and automate this area. This approach will allow you to combine high performance due to the speed of the system and effective quality control of street cleaning. The purpose of this work is the study and analysis of existing information systems (is), allowing to automate the process of quality control and operational performance of the above tasks. On the basis of the conducted researches, to develop is, having coordinated with the customer (administration of the Central district of Krasnoyarsk) requirements and functionality which allow to automate this process. This article presents the main aspects of the design and software solutions for the implementation of the algorithm in the form of AIS, designed to automate the process of monitoring the cleanliness of streets in the city. The development of AIS was conducted in the PhpStorm integrated development environment in the PHP programming language.

Students are accessed using paper and pen on cognitive abilities in Nigeria. This method of assessment encourages different forms of examination malpractices. The threat of examination malpractices on the validity of examination outcomes has resulted in some examination bodies adopting different methods of examination. One of such methods is the computer based test (CBT). Using survey research method, this study investigated the levels of competency in computer literacy skills possessed by senior secondary school students. Three research questions and one hypothesis guided the study. Problems encountered by the students and prospective methods of enhancing computer based test (CBT) acceptance in Nigeria were also documented. A total of 310 copies of the questionnaire were administered to students who participated in the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at Afrihub Information and Communication Technology (CBT) centre, Institution of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu and Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu and 237 representing 76% were adequately completed and found usable. The findings revealed among others that majority of the respondents confirmed that CBT can curb examination malpractice. Majority of candidates were also found to prefer CBT to the paper and pencil test (PPT). The mean, standard deviation and Pearson‟s Correlation Analysis showed that the respondent is preference for CBT were sensitive across gender. While improving electricity was identified as critical in enhancing CBT examinations, poor ICT skills on the part of students and the invigilators were also identified as the major problems facing the implementation of JAMB CBT examination in Nigeria.

The active magnetic bearings (AMB) play an essential role in supporting the shaft of fast rotating machines and controlling the displacements in the rotors due to the deviation in the shaft. In this paper, an adaptive integral third-order sliding mode control (AITOSMC) is proposed. The controller suppresses the deviations in the rotor and rejects the system uncertainties and unknown disturbances present in the five DOF AMB system. The application of AITOSMC alleviates the problem of high-frequency switching called chattering, which would otherwise restrict the practical application of sliding mode control (SMC). Moreover, adaptive laws are also incorporated in the proposed approach for estimating the controller gains. Further, it also prevents the problem of overestimation and avoids the use of a priori assumption about the upper bound knowledge of total disturbance. The Lyapunov and homogeneity theories are exploited for the stability proof, which guarantees the finite-time convergence of closed-loop and output signals. The numerical analysis of the proposed strategy illustrates the effective performance. Furthermore, the comparative analysis with the existing control schemes demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed controller.

Abstract Background To reduce the physical burden of caregivers, wearable transfer support robots are highly desirable. Although these robots are reportedly effective for specific tasks in experimental environments, there is little information about their effectiveness at nursing care facilities. The aim of this study was to identify care tasks and operations suitable for the use of these robots among caregivers in nursing facilities where these robots have been in use on a daily basis. Methods A 1-min observational time-motion analysis was conducted to examine care tasks and operations in two nursing facilities where wearable transfer support robots, namely Muscle Suit or HAL® Lumbar Type for Care Support, have been used routinely on a daily basis for more than 24 months. Results Analysis of the care tasks and their time ratio while wearing the equipment revealed that both robots were used conspicuously for direct care in over 70% of transits, especially during transfer assistance and toileting care. Furthermore, these robots were used intensively in the morning along with wake-up calls to care recipients, where pre-assigned wearers used them as part of their “routine work.” Conclusions We found that these wearable transfer support robots enabled effective performance of care tasks and operations in nursing facilities where these robots have been used on a daily basis for an extended period of time. These results may lead to the effective implementation and sustained operation of other types of care robots in the future. Trial registration UMIN Clinical Trials Registry no. UMIN000039204. This paper considers the synchronization between two chaotic systems (i.e. master and slave systems) in the presence of practical constraints. The considered constraints are: the unavailability of state variables of both master and slave system, the presence of non-symmetric input saturation, model uncertainties and/or external disturbances (matched and/or unmatched). Considering these constraints, an adaptive robust observer-based controller is designed, which guarantees synchronization between the chaotic systems. For this purpose, a theorem is given and, according to a Lyapunov adaptive stabilization approach, it is proved that the robust synchronization via the proposed observer-based controller is guaranteed in the presence of actuator saturation and it is shown that even if the control signal is saturated, the proposed controller leads to a robust synchronization objective. Finally, in order to show the applicability of the proposed controller, it is applied on the Van der Pol chaotic systems. Computer simulations verify the theoretical results and show the effective performance of the proposed controller.
